I decide to leave work a bit early and meet up with Katie to hang. I have a day planned in the Meatpacking District (Northwest of the West Village). First, we go to FIT to see their museum. It’s about politics and fashion and goes through the past to present. It’s a cool exhibit. We then take the train down the West Village and go to the Baoguette in the area. We split a regular banh mi, she’s never had one before.
We walk around the area, see an American Apparel to buy some underwear, and then go to Pepe Verde. Again, dweez.yelp.com for reviews. We also go to Chocolate Bar for some bonbons and have it at one of the little parks in the area. Then it’s 8-9:00ish and we go to the bars that I’ve written and Yelped. The first is a really shitty dive bar that has loud guys in it. After a drink, we leave because the bartenders are gone counting money… No idea why.
We then go to another bar, which is a bit empty, but not without a few fat chicks and really poorly dressed douchey guys. Then off to the final bar, WXOU, which I actually like. It’s divey, but still pretty decent. We end up leaving by 11:00ish so I can catch the 11:50 back. When we leave, the bartender stops me and asks for a tip. I drop him a few dollars. He asks in a really passive aggressive way with, “I’m not sure if you’ve done this before.” Fine, you’re supposed to leave a tip, but asking for one is worse. It’s def an “age-ist” thing because I couldn’t imagine other people being asked about this.
When I get on the train, I see someone walk into the bathroom and it sort of resembles Caroline. The person gets out and it actually turns out to be Caroline. I walk over to where her and Spamps are sitting. It turns out they went to see one of the movies from the Asian Film Festival. Katie and I were planning to go to it, but the movie was 4 hours long, so we decided against it. It’s pouring outside, so I call my brother so Caroline, Spamps, and I can get a ride back home.

When I get to work, there’s a few angry emails awaiting. Ricky (my boss) didn’t really explain the system she used to get things done. Therefore, I might’ve assumed things and mixed up piles she needed. In the end, I don’t think I really messed anything up and she was calmed down by the time I caught her leaving work.
I leave work to directly pick up Katie at 5:00. We end up deciding to make burritos for dinner. We go to Waldbaum’s to get ingredients. We get back to make it. Wraps for the burritos. Cook up some cut up steak strips. For sides, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, sour cream, black beans, refried beans, and corn. It’s a huge table of stuff. We have saffron rice and white rice.
Jeremiah left his bike in my backyard for some reason, so he drops by to pick it up. We invite him in and he has a burrito. After dinner, Katie and I are super itised (tired from eating too much food) out and pass out. Well not before a dessert, angel food cake with fresh strawberries, strawberry syrup, and Cool Whip.

We decide to go do the Queens Art Museum near Flushing. We go to Spicy and Tasty in Flushing first because it’s highly suggested. We get the dan dan noodles and dumplings in chili sauce and garlic pork. It’s good, but a bit disappointing. It’s not extremely spectacular, but it’s good, cheap Sichuan food. Guess I’ll have to go back and try some more dishes.
We drive out to the museum, which is really interesting, but small. Then we walk around by the remnants of the World Fairs. Then we head home, but need to get dinner so we go to H Mart and Stop and Shop. We get home and grill up some salmon steak, make some wild rice, and asparagus with hollandaise. At night, we head over to Scott’s and get a ride from Bolanos. We have some Pomegranate Lemonade Mike’s Hard and I drink some whiskey with Monster. We get back and try to watch 2 Days in Paris that we rented from Blockbuster. However, I’m pretty drunk and tired, so I pass out during the movie. Apparently there’s a huge bug in the room and Katie tries to wake me up to kill it. I try and I’m a huge idiot about it knock over stuff. However, she tells me about this the next day and I don’t remember doing this at all. I guess I was sleep walking/bug killing.

Katie and I wake up and get eggs for breakfast. She has regular fried egg, while I have an omelet with sour cream, salsa, cheese, and guacamole. I bring up that Six Flags is about an hour away and we entertain the idea of going, but we don’t because it’s too late.
We go to see the 4:30 Bruno. It has some really funny moments, but there’s too much “fake story.” It’s not as good as Borat and I would much rather see a collection of Bruno from the Ali G Show. Since my mother is gone for the day, I decide that I should invite people over. For dinner, we make inari, which is seasoned rice wrapped in firm tofu. She makes a spicy tofu and vegtable stir fry. I also make rice balls that are fried on the pan to give it a bit of a crisp and they’re wrapped in seaweed.
People start coming over because I called them. Matt, Rachel, and Aaron come over first. I work on whiskey and Coke. People start coming over. Bolanos, Josh, CNF, Spamps, Caroline, etc. Bowen and his friend get home and we play some pong. Katie and I lose to them. I play again with Scott and lose really fast to Josh and Bolanos. Gosh darnit. We’re out of beer so Katie drives me to On the Run since I’m drunk. We get some Nati Light. The younger Indian guy there (still late thirties or fourties) is nice to Katie, but then follows us back to the car. He stands at the door the open door while the key is in the ignition and beeping.
He keeps telling Katie really shitty jokes/riddles as he keeps trying to hit on her. I get annoyed and start saying “Thanks” and stuff. We finally get away from him. Later in the night, I find out that I can’t find my phone. I call it with the house phone and someone weird picks up. I call it again and it’s the same person. It turns out to be the guy at On The Run. I dropped it there somehow. Bowen drives me over there and it’s the same creepy guy. He has it. He even walks over to the car expecting it to be Katie driving again. I thank him a lot, but he keeps saying that Katie should come back sometime. Creeper.
People start leaving by 3:00 and I head to sleep.

Long night and we end up waking up at 3:00 and watching the Dead Poets Society. It’s a slow movie and screw the bitchy kid that kills himself in the end. We get dinner at Antonino’s and then watching Cruel Intentions. Now that’s an awesome movie, but why does the kid have to die in the end. Come on!
I drop her off at Little Neck LIRR at 12:52. Good times.
