Penn Station Bum
We take the 1:19 back to GN. Katie doesn’t smoke and doesn’t like it, but she’s cool with me having a couple when I drink. I’ve dropped smoking so much now that I’m around her. It’s a good thing that I’ve been cutting down, but it’s still nice to have a cigarette here or there when I’m drinking. While standing outside of Penn, this bum walks up to us two and asks if we have any money. I say I don’t. He continues badgering that he needs a cup of coffee. I jokingly touch my pants looking for something and respond, “Sorry man, I’m out of coffee.” He gives me a “Mutha fucka, is you serious, you stupid ass niggah” look. He says, “Naw man, I just need some money. You got pussy, you got money” (A reference to Katie). She says that my money is plastic and we walk away.

Because we slept at 5:00AM, we finally get out of bed by 1:30. I eat some leftovers that my mom left in the fridge and she has strawberries and steam bread. Speaking about my mom, she brought home the stuff I guess when she was home. She has been out of the house and sleeping at her friend’s place for the weekend, which is really good so Katie and I don’t really have to run into her. Bowen’s been in his room/out, so that’s also another plus.
We decide to spend the day in Flushing. We drive in and go to a spicy wonton place. Then we head over Flushing Mall and look at a few shops. We then go to the shoe store where I get a pair of grayish, flat bottom kicks. Then back down to Main Street for $1 Peking duck wraps. Then to bubble tea. Then to fried pork buns and finally we drive home and it’s 9:00ish. We hang around until she has to the 12:52 train back to Penn and then the C to 115th, Uptown.

Katie comes in by 5:00 and we hang around. We see that in town that there’s a festival thing going on. My mom and Bowen go into town for dinner with Katie. She’s met them before, but this is the first time we have all have dinner. It’s a really shitty Italian place on Middle Neck. The service sucks and the food is mediocre. Also, I get a headache because the DJ is playing really loud annoying music. We’re inside the restaurant and still have to shout. Katie and I end up staying in for the night.

Katie and I decide to go to Queens Mall instead of the city. It’s an awesome mall and way cooler than Roosevelt. It’s bigger, has more stores, though the food court is pretty poor. I end up going to PacSun and getting two pairs of jeans. My jeans are too loose and these new jeans rock. A light pair and a darker pair. $60. Done deal.
We then find a store called “Xios.” I’ve never heard of it, but it has some really awesome cheap stuff. I get pair of red shorts and blue shorts, better than my khaki’s which are too baggy. $20 for both. Katie also picks out some button up V-necks made of a cool cotton. Purple and beige. $15 for both. $35 for all four.
We go to H Mart and getting the ingredients for Asian style pork ribs. Then to the liquor store for a handle of whiskey. We cook at my place and Bowen is getting ready for his party tomorrow since mom’ll be gone. He makes jungle juice. I find out that mom isn’t coming back tonight so I start inviting people over. I drink mad Coke and whiskey. Jon, Jonah, Evan, Josh, CNF, Kerri, Candace, her friend, Bowen and his friends, Spamps, Scott, Alon, Kenny. Bolanos is upstate moving into his new house.
I get quite drunk and this is like the first time that people are over at my place. Boy, that’s a lot of people hanging out. Alon drives Katie and I to White Castle. Katie’s never had it and I love having drunk White Castle. Good times.

I wake up hung over and Katie and I go to the diner for brunch, at 12-1:00ish. I order a pizza burger and she gets corn beef hash. I’m hung over and being lazy, while she’s all giggity and wants to go into the city for stuff. We end up going in 4-5:00ish. We get to her place and watch some TV. We order Chinese food from this great place that’s so cheap and gives huge portions. When she picks it up from the guy, she’s like, “Did we really order that much?” Huge fuckin’ dumplings with a great sauce. Sweet and sour chicken. Kung Pao beef and a Coke. $18 and leftovers enough for days. Done deal.
We pregame at her place and leave for Candace’s birthday by 11:00. I have a gift card from Sephora for her. Katie and I hang with the dudes while we watch people singing karaoke at Stout. I go through a beer and help Katie with her really strong tequila sunrise. I also sneak the bathroom for a few swigs for whiskey from her flask.
We take the 1:19 back to GN. Josh and Scott go to my place because Bowen’s party was there. It’s weird because Bowen is in his underwear outside. People left and only a few of his friends are left. I take a jello shot and see that there’s JD in the fridge. I drink some of that straight and then make a mix drink. After a bit of that, I get super drunk, too drunk. I’m sick and end up spitting a lot in the trash. Katie tries to take care of me and does it fine job. I end up vomiting a little bit and passing out. I guess drinking hit me late and the drinking afterwards doesn’t help. I’m also really tired. It’s not too bad and I end up sleeping like a baby.

We wake up at 1:00ish and go get brunch with my mom at the diner. I get an open faced grilled chicken sandwich on pita with yogurt sauce and Greek salad. We drop by the pet store because my mom wants goldfish, we don’t get any. We then go and see a few houses because my mom likes it and her friend is trying to find a house around GN anyway. Then we see the water at Stepping Stone and look at some clothes on Middle Neck Road.
Katie randomly finds out that her friend, Anders from the site we met on, who’s visiting NYC from LA is staying with her sister in Great Neck. That’s so random. We make plans to meet in town at Starbucks. After sitting around, Anders drives us to Flushing for Korean BBQ. We meet up with his friend that he hasn’t seen for ten years and her boyfriend. It’s a long dinner that goes for almost two hours. We get beef and pork BBQ and a billion sides. There’s also the rice cake spicy dish that Katie made before for dinner at the house. After that, Anders drives us back to GN and we go to back the house. It’s a great dinner and really cool to meet Anders. He’s staying in New York for a little bit and wants to go to a bunch of places to eat. Maybe Katie and I’ll come along sometime. Loves the food.
She hangs around and writes an article for her job before I drop her off at the LIRR at 1:00. Darn work tomorrow and an awesome weekend ever ending.

Girlfriend and the Best Weekend

We have nothing to do at night so we go to Miah’s and hang out for a bit. Candace texts me that she’s having people over. We buy a 12er of Beck’s and head to her place. Kerri and CNF are also there. We sit around and bullshit while I’m texting Katie throughout the night.
Spamps and I smoke a bit of Candace’s weed and it hits me. I get a bit high and super hungry because I didn’t eat dinner. We leave eventually to get Burger King. I get Whopper JR, their new Sliders, Chicken sandwich, and onion rings with a medium Diet Coke. Nom nom.

It’s my day off because I need time to study for the LSATs and working so much is sorta killing my time. I go into the city at 2:00ish. We buy hot dogs, bacon, and toppings. There’s vodka drinking, while we try to create our own Crif Dogs.
She’s such a better wrapper and I cook them. There’s a avocado and sour cream one. One with kimchi. One with pesto and artichoke hearts. And two with cheese and a fried egg. It’s an eating fest and we stuff ourselves silly.
We then leave by 6:00 to go to the Bubble “Battle” at Time Square. It’s a bit lame because people aren’t really rowdy. It’s just people shooting bubbles around. We don’t stay long and end up at a sushi place for a quick bite. Then we go back to her place.
I take the 7 back at 2:30. Then I get off early on the Q12 to meet Bolanos. He was at Jonah’s place. We go to White Castle and I get home after that.

I get woken up to go to the Harley Davidson BBQ. After a few burgers and a hot dog, I run over to the Little Neck station because mom took the car. I meet up with Katie at Penn and go down to Chelsea to meet Danielle from Stickam and her friend. She’s from Baltimore and is visiting for the day. We go to Cafeteria, which is a pretty good restaurant. Katie has the lamb burger sliders and I have the mussels.
Then we walk over to Penn because Danielle and Kyle need to leave. Katie and I go to H&M for a bit and then her place. I find out from Brandon that he’s in the city. It’s so weird that I find that out when Katie and I are walking to the supermarket to get some food to cook. He’s at his friend’s place, an apartment a block away from where we were walking.
It’s so strange because that’s a ridiculous coincidence that her apartment in all the way up in the Columbia area. We go over to say Hi and coordinate plans that we’re going to meet up with them.
We (mostly me) cook a spinach fettuccini in a garlic herb sauce with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, and zucchini with a sprinkle of feta with a ciabatta. It’s mighty yummy. Then, it turns out that Bolanos is coming into the city too. It’s a club in the Meatpacking District. However, they need dress shoes and Bolanos can’t get in, so he ends up going back.
Katie and I go to Union Bar for a little bit until I have to head back. I randomly run into TA, who I guess stayed and go into the place. On the way back, there are loads of people from High School like Kevin Klein, Pickles, Robbie, etc. For some reason, there’s a guy that goes on and a guy’s shirt comes off. It’s nothing really huge, but punches are still thrown. I guess they just wanted to rep their manliness and fling their arms around.
Brandon and I pick up Bolanos at 4:00 to get bagels. I go through two bagels with lox because of the drinking and a smallish dinner. We run into Ashley Levine there and I probably go to sleep by 5:00.

Katie asks if I’m going into the city for the comedy show in the city. It seems like no one wants to go so I say we aren’t. At 9:30ish, people randomly decide that since we have nothing to do tonight, we should go to the city. We rush and make the 9:50 with Spamps, Miah, CNF, and Atron. I try to tell Katie that we’re going to the show. I call/text her going there, waiting for the show, and at the show, but no response.
Spamps, Miah, and I go to the liquor store and get some rum. We go to McDonald’s to get soda for the rum. The show has the best standup that I’ve seen there. She’s a sassy lady with a quick delivery and a hilarious self-deprecating attitude. The other three acts are incredibly boring and forgettable. It’s excruciating sitting there and I’d be so much more fun if Katie did show.
We wait around after the show and Spamps and I share a big plate of greasy Chinese food. I get a call from Katie that her phone died and didn’t know I was there. It really sucks that she didn’t make it. I probably wouldn’t want to make the trip all the way there if she weren’t going to show, but I can’t blame her and stuff for having a dead phone. Her phone was dead and coincidence it happened when I was coming up. I’ll see her soon though.

People head over to Candace’s at night. I’m texting Katie all night and Aaron asks if she has any friends to hook him up with. It’s usually not a cool question to ask, but I’m like, “What the hell, who cares.” Katie says that Celeste and Rochelle are interested in meeting some of the guys. I thought this was a meet up, but instead, she makes it seem more like a triple date with Katie and I there.
She texts that Celeste picked CNF, but preferred Bolanos and Rachelle picks Aaron. They figure this through Facebook stalking. We end up doing the same. After we leave, it’s only about 1:00 so Alex and I head over to Bolanos’. He finds out about the date plans and decides to agree to it, thus kicking CNF out. Later, Aaron and CNF have a hissing fit and everyone backs out other than Bolanos. Seems like the plan isn’t working out.

It’s another boring day at work with the load of rain. Katie randomly decides to come hang out in Great Neck since we missed each other on Monday. She’s in by 5-6:00ish. We hang around until dinner and we go over to Vespa. It’s a really underrated restaurant in Great Neck. It’s really good Italian. I order the veal and she gets the seafood pasta. Both great dishes.
She ends up deciding to stay in Great Neck because she has nothing to do on Friday. I don’t have work and we both plan on going clothes shopping tomorrow.
We then go over to great to get some desert cookies and ingredients to make strawberry pancakes in the morning. We then stay in and watch Taken, which is a good action thriller.

We make some yummy pancakes and go into the city around 2-3:00. After she stops by at her place. We head to Soho and go to this really good Mediterranean place named Snack. Remember, check all my food experiences on Yelp. Dweez.yelp.com. We go to a few stores and I get up getting two graphic tees, shorts, and two polos. We get back late by 10:00ish. We head over to Alex’s basement for a bit before we leave because we’re hungry. There’s an issue with the guys about something that Katie said. I didn’t notice/find out until later. I speak to them about it and they’re livid. It’s my opinion that it’s not a big deal because friends have said and done worse. I can’t judge however, but I hope it blows over.
I make some Chinese noodles with veggies and leftovers. It’s quite yummy while we watch Nick and Norah’s Playlist. I really have a great time watching it because I can spot random places it’s shot at in the East Village with very few clues.

We decide that we want breakfast, so we want to do bagel sandwiches. We drive to the bagel place near H Mart. While there, I decide, “Hey, lets check H Mart out.” She really likes Korean food and the city wouldn’t have a supermarket this big full of it. We get bacon and cheese for the bagels. We then get rice cake, fish cake, and spicy red paste (veggies at home) for a sweet and spicy dish. There’s also savory pancake mix with frozen seafood for it and kimchi for it. I don’t cook Korean, so it’s going to be cool to see how it turns out. While shopping, the place is loaded with samples and I end up eating loads of it that my breakfast appetite sort of killed.
After getting bagels, we make bagels with bacon, egg, and Swiss. For dinner, she cooks while I help. I help her cook really fast and chug a few beers because Atron says his friend’s b-day is at a bar in the city. I don’t eat too much of it because I’m going to drink, but it’s great cooking on Katie’s part. I’m left with more ingredients so I can make it more sometime. We also cook my brother a portion because he’s home.
He give us a ride to the train station at 10:20. We walk over 3rd Ave, all the way east of Penn. We find CNF and Atron inside. Throughout the night, I drink about four beers and a few other drinks through Katie and stuff. With the pregame, I get a good drunk going. When Katie and I hear Pittbull I Know You Want Me, we run to the dance floor. I’m drunk and enjoying myself so I go calls out on the dancing. It doesn’t fit the context of the dance floor because we’re going crazy. It turns out the next day that one of the guys asks Aaron if I’m gay. Hey there! You wish you could dance as well as Sexy Darwin.
Celeste and Rachelle end up coming. At one point, I realize that the bar is actually twice the size than I thought. For most of the night, I thought that there was a mirror wall, however, it’s really just a second half and completely open. I don’t know how I lost my mind and I really was not that drunk. Aaron leaves because he doesn’t really “feel” Katie’s roommates and he needs to wake up early. Katie decides again to come back and hang in Great Neck even though her plan was to stay in the city. Sweetness.
We decide to leave earlier than the 3:19, so we take the 7 train and the Q12 back. However, it’s pouring and we get a ride from the border from Bowen at 4-5:00ish. She was passing out on the bus, so she passes out immediately to see when we’re home. I go eat some leftover noodles because I’m starving. Then I pass out too by 5.

We hang around until dinner and we go over to Vespa. It’s a really underrated restaurant in Great Neck. It’s really good Italian. I order the veal and she gets the seafood pasta. Both great dishes.
She ends up deciding to stay in Great Neck because she has nothing to do on Friday. I don’t have work and we both plan on going clothes shopping tomorrow.
We then go over to great to get some desert cookies and ingredients to make strawberry pancakes in the morning. We then stay in and watch Taken, which is a good action thriller.

We make some yummy pancakes and go into the city around 2-3:00. After she stops by at her place. We head to Soho and go to this really good Mediterranean place named Snack. Remember, check all my food experiences on Yelp. Dweez.yelp.com. We go to a few stores and I get up getting two graphic tees, shorts, and two polos. We get back late by 10:00ish. We head over to Alex’s basement for a bit before we leave because we’re hungry. There’s an issue with the guys about something that Katie said. I didn’t notice/find out until later. I speak to them about it and they’re livid. It’s my opinion that it’s not a big deal because friends have said and done worse. I can’t judge however, but I hope it blows over.
I make some Chinese noodles with veggies and leftovers. It’s quite yummy while we watch Nick and Norah’s Playlist. I really have a great time watching it because I can spot random places it’s shot at in the East Village with very few clues.

We decide that we want breakfast, so we want to do bagel sandwiches. We drive to the bagel place near H Mart. While there, I decide, “Hey, lets check H Mart out.” She really likes Korean food and the city wouldn’t have a supermarket this big full of it. We get bacon and cheese for the bagels. We then get rice cake, fish cake, and spicy red paste (veggies at home) for a sweet and spicy dish. There’s also savory pancake mix with frozen seafood for it and kimchi for it. I don’t cook Korean, so it’s going to be cool to see how it turns out. While shopping, the place is loaded with samples and I end up eating loads of it that my breakfast appetite sort of killed.
After getting bagels, we make bagels with bacon, egg, and Swiss. For dinner, she cooks while I help. I help her cook really fast and chug a few beers because Atron says his friend’s b-day is at a bar in the city. I don’t eat too much of it because I’m going to drink, but it’s great cooking on Katie’s part. I’m left with more ingredients so I can make it more sometime. We also cook my brother a portion because he’s home.
He give us a ride to the train station at 10:20. We walk over 3rd Ave, all the way east of Penn. We find CNF and Atron inside. Throughout the night, I drink about four beers and a few other drinks through Katie and stuff. With the pregame, I get a good drunk going. When Katie and I hear Pittbull I Know You Want Me, we run to the dance floor. I’m drunk and enjoying myself so I go calls out on the dancing. It doesn’t fit the context of the dance floor because we’re going crazy. It turns out the next day that one of the guys asks Aaron if I’m gay. Hey there! You wish you could dance as well as Sexy Darwin.
Celeste and Rachelle end up coming. At one point, I realize that the bar is actually twice the size than I thought. For most of the night, I thought that there was a mirror wall, however, it’s really just a second half and completely open. I don’t know how I lost my mind and I really was not that drunk. Aaron leaves because he doesn’t really “feel” Katie’s roommates and he needs to wake up early. Katie decides again to come back and hang in Great Neck even though her plan was to stay in the city. Sweetness.
We decide to leave earlier than the 3:19, so we take the 7 train and the Q12 back. However, it’s pouring and we get a ride from the border from Bowen at 4-5:00ish. She was passing out on the bus, so she passes out immediately to see when we’re home. I go eat some leftover noodles because I’m starving. Then I pass out too by 5.

June Starts

Atron wants to go to UCBT for the free Monday comedy show. Josh drives in with Atron, Spamps, Josh, and me. We find good parking near the theater. Atron and Scott share a little thing of Georgi from the liquor store and drink beer during the show. $2 PBRs, wow. The MC is decent, but seems a bit drunk and slurry. The two skinny kids aren’t too good and amateur. One lady is darn drunk and tells some nasty Magnum condom in her pussy story. The next two are also meh. The show is over by 12:00ish. Josh drives back to BK and the kids go home on the LIRR.

In the afternoon, I go over to Bolanos’ house because Tim’s over. We hang out and sit around for a bit. We then go to Best Buy and play around there because we have nothing to do and can’t find something to buy for Sam’s birthday BBQ tomorrow.
We find out from TA that he’s going into the city. I get excited, so I make that plan work. We go get a bottle of Castillo rum at the Great Neck liquor store. I go home to take a shower, grab some pork buns for dinner, and get a ride to Bolanos so we can pregame. I get there and Bolanos is upstairs. I eat three large pork buns really fast so I can drink a lot for the night. I have 20+ minutes to pregame, so I chug that stuff sooo hard. We also make a super hard bottle of Coke and rum.
We meet up with TA and David Simon and take the 9:19 into the city. It turns out that it’s the party train, so there are loads of people there going to party and dressed for it. I actually recognize Michelle B. from High School there. We meet up with Logan at her apartment on the East 20s. She’s got an awesome apartment. I find out that Katie is free, so after a few drinks there, I leave to meet up with her. We go in, we drink a bit and then take a train and then cab to Lucky Strike, a bowling alley in Chelsea.
The place is one of those bar/bowling alleys. It’s like $17 for a game and shoe rental. We have a few drinks at the bar, while waiting for our lane. I’m drunk and bowl poorly and get like in the 60s. I know I can bowl over 100.
By now, it’s time to catch the 3:19. We cab back to Penn. We then decide to go to Bagel Hut for the 4:00AM bagel. Like on the way here, that place is also packed. I try to go super Jew and order an everything bagel with whitefish. It’s not bad, but isn’t as good as tuna.

I get woken up by 12:00-1:00ish to go to Sam’s Birthday BBQ. Bolanos has issues so I drive out there to exist 40s. It’s nice seeing Tim, Sam, and Jess and her friends. There’s soda and some good food. Burgers and chicken. Tim, Bolanos, and I play some Rock Band. There’s a lot of joking around and laughs had over the whole time we are there. We leave by 8:00ish. It’s a good time catching up with them.

Work is doing well. It’s a hella lot more fun now because Ariel and Rachel are from High School there. We joke around and speak about random stuff I’ve also been ordering food out a lot from Hinata, sushi, salad, and soup for $9. The Chinese food is hella cheap. $6 for two meals worth. However, get sauce on side because it’s disgusting how much sauce they put on the dishes.
Bolanos calls me at like 11:00ish and I find out that he was watching the game. He’s drunk and has nothing to do. Spamps and I go over and Michelle, his sister, is sitting down there. There’s some Castillo Rum left from the other night and I drink that shit like it’s water. I get a bit drunk and end up getting home a bit late with Spamps driving the car back.

I get “tricky” and lose really quickly, so drinking happens. A shot of Georgi, two 22s of Olde E, and two Blue Moons. I get back by 2, sit around at Spamps’ for a lil, and go home.

It takes forever for the night to start. It goes from going into the city, to bowling, to go to CJs, but the final decision is to hang at Josh’s. It’s Tom, Atron, CNF, Evan, Sam, and Scott. After a few drinks, we split ways by 2:00ish.

We don’t have anywhere to play poker, so we go to Atron’s basement. I get a 12 pack of Blue Moon with Miah and Spamps. Atron gets two 22s of Olde E and I get one 22 of Olde E. It’s a cash game. I lose a big hand and have to rebuy for $15 after a $5 buy-in. I then double up on a nut flush AK hand. I go up $9 in the end. Spamps goes up $34. Afterwards, we to go White Castle and use a printed coupon for a free Pulled Pork Sandwich.
