July 12, 2008

July 12, 2008
I speak to CNF on AIM and play around with him about what happened last night at Josh’s. He underplays how people lied and how childish the night was. I call him and we reach a mutual understanding, which we’ve consistently done forever. The word “settle” isn’t necessary because there’s nothing to settle.
He ends up telling me that Jonah avoided us last night because he has been trying to avoid me for the past 2 and a half months. This man changed his screen name, didn’t call anyone, and no one has seen his face since the beginning of break. His issue was that I was apparently “annoying.” Why he allowed us to hang out that is something I do not understand.
He also avoided coming into DnD because he didn’t want people to make remarks about his disappearance. How someone could think that people wouldn’t make a comment on that is crazy. So I don’t really know what to say, but I guess I’m not speaking or hanging out with him anymore.
Hasan and I go to Spamps’ basement for a while, along with Alon, Kenny, and Bolanos. We end up leaving for Astoria while Spamps and Caroline stay in. When getting into the car, we have to move a box of beer that Hasan got for free from his sister who is moving to LA.
We make a comment about drinking that beer and Hasan says that he needs money for it because otherwise he’d drink it himself. Bolanos jokingly mentions that he should charge $6 a bottle. Hasan says that’s a good deal because they’re “expensive” imports. He then bashed Bolanos for not knowing the prices of import beers. I told Hasan he’s hitting hard for something so stupid. At this point, I’d say is when Hasan started getting stupid crazy.
We get to Astoria and the parking lot is full. Hasan immediately decides we need to go home to Great Neck or some swanky place he apparently knows. Surprisingly, I’m the only one to mention that the parking lot is not the only place to park. He then continues to make fun of the four of us for random reasons.
One of them is how we’re a bunch of cheapasses and that’s why we don’t do stuff with our nights. I tell him that he’s a huge minority on being a big spender and how that kind of attack on us unnecessary.
Alon naively jumps on his side and says that we should be more open to Hasan’s suggestions of pool and bowling. I explain to him that those are only two of his suggestions, whereas in this case, he’s suggesting we should spend money and go into clubs in the city and party it up. Bolanos says that his issue is not money when going to bowling or pool, he just doesn’t want to do much dumb things.
I then actually get curious about the legitimacy of going into the city one night for such a Hasan suggestion. I’m very curious about how he’d get such a night going, but also, it’d be a change of pace from what we always do.
At this point, Hasan is clearly “triathlon” crazy and won’t even answer my sincere curiosity of his suggestion. We get dropped off and go home. He angrily drives away. I get home past 12:00, so obviously Stickam is followed.

July 13, 2008
I wake up at 3:30 and sit around remaking by MySpace because people on Stickam tell me to. I go to Spamps’ house before 9:00. I get a call from Bolanos past 10:00 after his LSAT course with Aaron. He says Kat is having a party, someone I knew from Binghamton. It turns out that Aaron is bringing Bolanos, his friend Tom, and CNF. CNF is the biggest party goer around… Then again, a playa’s got to be proud that he got a number last time Aaron brought him to a party.
No issues though, Aaron can’t bring too many people and at least I get to chill at Miah’s with my 40!

Long time

July 8, 2008
It’s been a super long time since I’ve last blogged. One of the biggest events is the conflict between the two “groups.” Scott has his house open and decides to invite part of the group. He tells me to keep it low because he doesn’t want many people as usual.
Spamps has had work so he can’t hang out much. Hanging out on a Friday is a good time to see people. I tell him about Scott’s, but that Scott doesn’t want many people. Spamps knows not to bring anyone else along and see if he can sneak in. Scott then avoids Spamps’ calls and suggests that I should’ve lied to Spamps. Yes, he asks me to lie to a friend when he can’t be man enough to just tell Spamps the truth.
The next day, Hasan has his place open and basically the same deal happens. Spamps tries to call me and I try to pick up. Hasan tells me not to. I push the argument a bit, but I know he’ll go “triathlon” crazy if I go further. I feel like shit doing that to Spamps, but I know I can try to sneak off a call to him later.
It’s a pretty crazy night because Hasan purchases 72 beers and over 50 are finished that night. With weak drinkers all around, I have to do a lot of damage of probably near 15 Coors Light.
After the weekend, Spamps posts a thing on Facebook being annoyed by the whole deal. Spamps basically says that it’s easier to know the truth that he isn’t invited to go somewhere like Scott’s instead of people dancing around the issue and forcing me to do so too. Hasan hits with some reality that there’s two groups within the friends, though there are some middlers. Aaron makes some silly comments about people hurting the hosts house if they sit around and how people need to branch out to other friends. I hugely disagree with his business.

For July 4th, we go to Evan’s early to have a BBQ after we buy stuff from Waldbaum’s. It’s quite a large amount of food. I play many games of beer pong and take a few shots of Svedka that Brian brought along. A good night in general, though it’s weird that Spamps and Miah aren’t there because of their job.

Other than that, I’m having slow summer. I should probably look for a job, but it’s getting later into the summer and the car lease issue is still annoying. I’ll maybe have the car for a while, but it needs to be returned and not being to drive to work is pretty annoying. It actually hugely restricts what jobs I can get. I’ve been on Stickam a hell lot.
Emma from Norway goes on a lot and it’s fun learning about a different culture, even though it seems very American, then again, that’s the First World for ya.
Celeb AllyATL has been really nice and has actually come into my room.
Aaron has been on it and pulled into the “dark side” because of me.
SarahSmall is really cool and seems like someone that would be great to hang out with.
SarahTonin is a fucking crazy drunkard hilarious when she gets shitfaced on cam. Awkward though that she’s getting thrown into the military by her parents.
Nikki has come back from Spain is back in Georgia. She isn’t on much, but a very cool person to talk to.
While I may be on quite a bit, I’d say the social aspects are at least somewhat redeeming compared to watching films and TV all day. I’ve “met” some cool people and it makes the day go by.

July 10, 2008
The plan is to go Miah’s house because it’s still open. Hasan says he’s doing something else with Stefan and Aaron. I try to explain we only do Astoria and open house and I can’t see how he can beat this. He’s like whatever.
I go to pick up Bolanos so we can get a ride from Spamps. Bolanos and I get two 40s, while they get Blue Moon and have cheap malt liquor at Miah’s.
When we get there it turns out that CNF, Hasan, and Scott are already there. I joke around at Hasan why he’s here. I’m surprised by why Scott’s there, but I don’t say anything. He’s been invited twice and there’s no way I expect him to be invited to Scott’s, just saying.
Hasan also was curious if he’d be invited. My point is that no matter what he does, people like Spamps and Miah are way cooler and forgiving for such things.
We sit around playing a $5 game, which I get knocked out in. I didn’t have much during the day, so I can tell that another 40 after my first will be too much. I have a bit of my liquor instead and save the other 40.

July 11, 2008
Today, I receive by Yankee’s 59 Fifty. It’s like two sizes too small, but still rockin’ after I stretch it a bit. For the night, I get people to meet up at DnD. This also marks a week of me driving around, which is good.
Kenny, Alon, Bolanos, Hasan, and I are there. The night before CNF awkwardly tries to tell Scott that he and Josh are going into the city to have dinner with Jonah, a man that I haven’t seen in months, yet I hung out with him the most that semester.
I try calling CNF twice and apparently he thinks is funny to reply with weird noises for 5 seconds and hanging up. How mature.
Sitting in DnD, we randomly see Josh, CNF, and Jonah walk by. Bolanos and I know their ways and expect them not to come in. Only Josh and CNF do and say Hi.
Kenny and Alon run over to say Hi to Jonah. I don’t know how far he rips apart social standards by not saying Hi to people he hasn’t seen in months. It’s mind-blowingly ridiculous.
We then find out that people are going over to Josh’s. I guess he doesn’t want too many people, but it would’ve been nice to at least say that after all the drama we’ve had of late. Though I never expected people to change at all, so what’s the big deal. I don’t really care.
I call Aaron because I could tell he’s probably invited. I ask him what he’s up to. He says to call him if something’s up, but that he’s “already hanging out.” That means CNF went to pick him up because he recently lost him license. I could tell that he already wants to hide things so he hangs up on me. How mature. Also, the “call me” excuse is pretty useless. He knows there’s nothing to do. Like I’m really going to call him and say, “Yo, there’s something better than Josh’s. I found this crazy party to go to.”
Hasan leaves us, maybe to hang out at Josh’s eventually. Bolanos, Kenny, Alon, and I split our ways before 11:00 since there’s nothing to do.
Another comment to make is that it seems that things somewhat revolve around weed a lot. I bet that tonight might’ve had to do with it. The word “alcoholic” I’d say has been thrown around a lot.
This is despite the fact that:
We know multiple people that smoke by themselves multiple times a week regardless of anything
People that exclusively might do it with only a few people and actually base social decisions on it
People that have done this for years upon years
The large amount of money spent on it compared to alcohol

Compared to:
Almost only ever drinking in social situations
Drinking only comes up maybe 1-2 times a week at most

To throw the word alcoholic around I’d say is pure hypocrisy compared to the weed addicts or pot heads around. Again, I’m not saying I have any problem with this. You choose what you do, it’s all pretty harmless. It’s the hypocrisy that gets me the wrong way and how I’ve learned to just accept it in avoidance of needless confrontation, where people take such arguments as “serious and harmful,” whereas I just find it part of normal conversation.

cnf

alias871 (8:41:08 PM): Hey
moonchild0078h (8:42:09 PM): hi there
moonchild0078h (8:43:03 PM): what's up
alias871 (8:45:00 PM): Bolanos just called
alias871 (8:45:02 PM): He wants to do something
moonchild0078h (8:45:30 PM): i'm not going out
moonchild0078h (8:45:36 PM): gonna stay in an do some gre work
moonchild0078h (8:45:51 PM): it's not like there is anywhere to go
alias871 (8:46:35 PM): so when's the next time you can hang? august?
moonchild0078h (8:46:46 PM): no i'm just saying
moonchild0078h (8:47:10 PM): meeting up is useless unless it has purpose
alias871 (8:47:21 PM): what's your purpose?
moonchild0078h (8:47:31 PM): i have no purpose for meeting up with you or eric tonight
moonchild0078h (8:47:34 PM): so i'm staying in
moonchild0078h (8:48:07 PM): unless we knew of something to do together, other than talk which we can do online or over the phone, i don't see much purpose to driving into great neck to sit at dunkin donuts
alias871 (8:48:58 PM): Alright, so make the plans, call people
moonchild0078h (8:49:11 PM): I don't want to
alias871 (8:49:15 PM): Why not?
moonchild0078h (8:49:29 PM): because I am going to do GRE work tonight and stay in
alias871 (8:49:55 PM): You'll be around to make our plans?
moonchild0078h (8:49:59 PM): If I really wanted to hang out with people I would call them or talk to them online about plans.
alias871 (8:50:00 PM): tmrw*
moonchild0078h (8:50:19 PM): Yes, but I don't know what I want to do tomorrow night.
alias871 (8:50:47 PM): Oh, you're not sure of your "mood" to be hanging out?
moonchild0078h (8:50:54 PM): No
moonchild0078h (8:51:34 PM): Putting words in my mouth like "not sure of my mood" is bullshit.
moonchild0078h (8:51:41 PM): I don't think that far ahead.
alias871 (8:51:46 PM): Oh, we're confused
alias871 (8:51:52 PM): I meant you'll be the planner tmrw
moonchild0078h (8:51:53 PM): It also implies that you think everyone is a mood swinging bitch.
moonchild0078h (8:51:59 PM): No.
moonchild0078h (8:52:09 PM): "If I really wanted to hang out with people I would call them or talk to them online about plans."
alias871 (8:52:12 PM): So what does it mean when you say, "moonchild0078h (8:50:19 PM): Yes, but I don't know what I want to do tomorrow night."
alias871 (8:53:01 PM): My point is if you hang tmrw, you'll be the planner?
moonchild0078h (8:53:52 PM): You asked if I'll be around tomorrow to make your plans. I replied as in yes, I'll be around tomorrow, but I don't know what i want to do tomorrow night. Before that statement or my precursor statement was "If I really wanted to hang out with people I would call them or talk to them online about plans."
moonchild0078h (8:53:59 PM): I won't be the planner.
moonchild0078h (8:54:30 PM): But I will be around tomorrow.
alias871 (8:54:40 PM): So the last two contradict? "I would call them or talk to them" and "I won't be the planner."
moonchild0078h (8:54:48 PM): sigh
alias871 (8:54:56 PM): Isn't that what the planner does, call people and make sure the night is happening
moonchild0078h (8:55:11 PM): i responded to one statement you made. I then responded to the question you asked.
moonchild0078h (8:55:19 PM): There is too much reading confusion going on in this conversation.
alias871 (8:56:00 PM): So it comes to that you do not want to plan things tomorrow, right?
moonchild0078h (8:56:46 PM): Simple answer: Yes, I do not want to plan thing tomorrow.
alias871 (8:57:41 PM): When will you "call them or talk to them online to make plans."
moonchild0078h (8:57:51 PM): When and if I want to.
alias871 (8:58:01 PM): Ah... that's seems strange
moonchild0078h (8:58:08 PM): Not really.
moonchild0078h (8:59:58 PM): Logic: It's not like people do anything anyway. What's the most our friends do: Go to Astoria; Go to someone's basement or attic and game and drink; Go to Dunk Donuts and talk about useless shit. With our group of friends it's not that hard to know where people are.
moonchild0078h (9:01:12 PM): Note: When I said "where people are", I am implying, where people are at night.
alias871 (9:01:26 PM): Well that's obvious
alias871 (9:01:58 PM): And while I do agree with your tone it seems that you think we don't do much, still beats sitting on the computer for me
alias871 (9:02:09 PM): And same goes for the people that go out, otherwise, they'd stay home
moonchild0078h (9:04:39 PM): Agreed, but unfortunately there is nowhere to really go and my personal sentiments differ from yours.
alias871 (9:04:53 PM): first part, agreed
alias871 (9:05:01 PM): second part, which sentiments
moonchild0078h (9:05:27 PM): "still beats sitting on the computer for me"
alias871 (9:05:41 PM): okay
moonchild0078h (9:06:46 PM): If there other places to go besides the previously mentioned, I would certainly be willing to go with people, but there aren't.
alias871 (9:06:57 PM): But you hang out with us
alias871 (9:07:05 PM): And we haven't changed a thing for like 4 years
alias871 (9:07:09 PM): Well astoria was a change
alias871 (9:07:20 PM): Hasan's being open has switched to hasan a bit, scott a lot
alias871 (9:07:25 PM): Recently Spamps/Miah's
moonchild0078h (9:07:33 PM): Those are all temporary.
alias871 (9:07:44 PM): So no changes in all those years, what's the probs?
moonchild0078h (9:08:00 PM): It becomes boring, typical, dull, etc.
alias871 (9:08:21 PM): But you still planning to hang tmrw?
moonchild0078h (9:08:25 PM): Yes.
alias871 (9:09:08 PM): Hm
