Long time

July 8, 2008
It’s been a super long time since I’ve last blogged. One of the biggest events is the conflict between the two “groups.” Scott has his house open and decides to invite part of the group. He tells me to keep it low because he doesn’t want many people as usual.
Spamps has had work so he can’t hang out much. Hanging out on a Friday is a good time to see people. I tell him about Scott’s, but that Scott doesn’t want many people. Spamps knows not to bring anyone else along and see if he can sneak in. Scott then avoids Spamps’ calls and suggests that I should’ve lied to Spamps. Yes, he asks me to lie to a friend when he can’t be man enough to just tell Spamps the truth.
The next day, Hasan has his place open and basically the same deal happens. Spamps tries to call me and I try to pick up. Hasan tells me not to. I push the argument a bit, but I know he’ll go “triathlon” crazy if I go further. I feel like shit doing that to Spamps, but I know I can try to sneak off a call to him later.
It’s a pretty crazy night because Hasan purchases 72 beers and over 50 are finished that night. With weak drinkers all around, I have to do a lot of damage of probably near 15 Coors Light.
After the weekend, Spamps posts a thing on Facebook being annoyed by the whole deal. Spamps basically says that it’s easier to know the truth that he isn’t invited to go somewhere like Scott’s instead of people dancing around the issue and forcing me to do so too. Hasan hits with some reality that there’s two groups within the friends, though there are some middlers. Aaron makes some silly comments about people hurting the hosts house if they sit around and how people need to branch out to other friends. I hugely disagree with his business.

For July 4th, we go to Evan’s early to have a BBQ after we buy stuff from Waldbaum’s. It’s quite a large amount of food. I play many games of beer pong and take a few shots of Svedka that Brian brought along. A good night in general, though it’s weird that Spamps and Miah aren’t there because of their job.

Other than that, I’m having slow summer. I should probably look for a job, but it’s getting later into the summer and the car lease issue is still annoying. I’ll maybe have the car for a while, but it needs to be returned and not being to drive to work is pretty annoying. It actually hugely restricts what jobs I can get. I’ve been on Stickam a hell lot.
Emma from Norway goes on a lot and it’s fun learning about a different culture, even though it seems very American, then again, that’s the First World for ya.
Celeb AllyATL has been really nice and has actually come into my room.
Aaron has been on it and pulled into the “dark side” because of me.
SarahSmall is really cool and seems like someone that would be great to hang out with.
SarahTonin is a fucking crazy drunkard hilarious when she gets shitfaced on cam. Awkward though that she’s getting thrown into the military by her parents.
Nikki has come back from Spain is back in Georgia. She isn’t on much, but a very cool person to talk to.
While I may be on quite a bit, I’d say the social aspects are at least somewhat redeeming compared to watching films and TV all day. I’ve “met” some cool people and it makes the day go by.

The plan is to go Miah’s house because it’s still open. Hasan says he’s doing something else with Stefan and Aaron. I try to explain we only do Astoria and open house and I can’t see how he can beat this. He’s like whatever.
I go to pick up Bolanos so we can get a ride from Spamps. Bolanos and I get two 40s, while they get Blue Moon and have cheap malt liquor at Miah’s.
When we get there it turns out that CNF, Hasan, and Scott are already there. I joke around at Hasan why he’s here. I’m surprised by why Scott’s there, but I don’t say anything. He’s been invited twice and there’s no way I expect him to be invited to Scott’s, just saying.
Hasan also was curious if he’d be invited. My point is that no matter what he does, people like Spamps and Miah are way cooler and forgiving for such things.
We sit around playing a $5 game, which I get knocked out in. I didn’t have much during the day, so I can tell that another 40 after my first will be too much. I have a bit of my liquor instead and save the other 40.

Today, I receive by Yankee’s 59 Fifty. It’s like two sizes too small, but still rockin’ after I stretch it a bit. For the night, I get people to meet up at DnD. This also marks a week of me driving around, which is good.
Kenny, Alon, Bolanos, Hasan, and I are there. The night before CNF awkwardly tries to tell Scott that he and Josh are going into the city to have dinner with Jonah, a man that I haven’t seen in months, yet I hung out with him the most that semester.
I try calling CNF twice and apparently he thinks is funny to reply with weird noises for 5 seconds and hanging up. How mature.
Sitting in DnD, we randomly see Josh, CNF, and Jonah walk by. Bolanos and I know their ways and expect them not to come in. Only Josh and CNF do and say Hi.
Kenny and Alon run over to say Hi to Jonah. I don’t know how far he rips apart social standards by not saying Hi to people he hasn’t seen in months. It’s mind-blowingly ridiculous.
We then find out that people are going over to Josh’s. I guess he doesn’t want too many people, but it would’ve been nice to at least say that after all the drama we’ve had of late. Though I never expected people to change at all, so what’s the big deal. I don’t really care.
I call Aaron because I could tell he’s probably invited. I ask him what he’s up to. He says to call him if something’s up, but that he’s “already hanging out.” That means CNF went to pick him up because he recently lost him license. I could tell that he already wants to hide things so he hangs up on me. How mature. Also, the “call me” excuse is pretty useless. He knows there’s nothing to do. Like I’m really going to call him and say, “Yo, there’s something better than Josh’s. I found this crazy party to go to.”
Hasan leaves us, maybe to hang out at Josh’s eventually. Bolanos, Kenny, Alon, and I split our ways before 11:00 since there’s nothing to do.
Another comment to make is that it seems that things somewhat revolve around weed a lot. I bet that tonight might’ve had to do with it. The word “alcoholic” I’d say has been thrown around a lot.
This is despite the fact that:
We know multiple people that smoke by themselves multiple times a week regardless of anything
People that exclusively might do it with only a few people and actually base social decisions on it
People that have done this for years upon years
The large amount of money spent on it compared to alcohol

Compared to:
Almost only ever drinking in social situations
Drinking only comes up maybe 1-2 times a week at most

To throw the word alcoholic around I’d say is pure hypocrisy compared to the weed addicts or pot heads around. Again, I’m not saying I have any problem with this. You choose what you do, it’s all pretty harmless. It’s the hypocrisy that gets me the wrong way and how I’ve learned to just accept it in avoidance of needless confrontation, where people take such arguments as “serious and harmful,” whereas I just find it part of normal conversation.
