Beginning of December

November 30, 2009
I missed a bus at Flushing and check out a few of the Asian stores. They have mad girly things since I’m looking for gifts for Corinne and Nikki. I already have Katie’s. Hm, I still have to get Christmas cars and stuff for mom and brosky.
I’m watching Amazing Race and it’s aweessomee. This is the second episode where they’re in Prague and I loves it. I’m reminded of all these awesome places and how much fun I had in Prague. I also saw an ad on the subway and it had streets, signs, and European car license plates that really made me think that it was Prague in the ad. I also went to one of the bars that they have an challenge in.

December 1, 2009
Class update: Spanish is still annoying. I had a test today on the novel and I thought I’d do super bad, but the test wasn’t hard at all.
I have my Democracy class, which is filled with annoying pointless debate as usual. People going back and forth talking about dumb points. Then again, they’re actually really smart kids and I’m just by it all. I can see these differences in my classes. I get my first draft back and I got an A-. That’s awesome since I thought I was around the average of the class, especially I fucked up with a C on the midterm.
The Constitution Minorities class is boring as shit and there’s no final so no one cares. We still have a paper and a presentation though.
After my Spanish test, I go with a few of the students to Johnny Rockets to get some lunch. There’s mad annoying stuff with trying to figure out graduation. I finally figure it out and I have to run some errands for it, but it’s still next Wednesday.
After all my classes, I have an ACLU Meeting. It’s the final one and we’re graduating. We have S’Mac. If you don’t know what it is, it’s real good. It’s Mac n’ Cheese to the nuts with breadcrumbs baked on top. It’s not cheap, $10 for a big portion. However, when it’s on NYU’s dime because we’re a club. I eat a whole thing myself because I’ve been starving since I had an egg sandwich for lunch at 12:00. I usually would portion it and only eat half, which should be a real “portion,” but I’m doing comfort food for now. We also order extra so I get a whole thing to bring home. Nice nice!

December 2, 2009
I get my midterm back from Constitution and I’m really fuckin’ pissed. I get a B in a class that I have down like no one’s business. It turns out that my strategy of getting down the facts did not get me there. Instead, I was supposed to make an argument. All three of my responses on the midterm were missing a clear thesis. The questions were pretty straight forward like:
5. Discuss the contours of the Black-Frankfurter debate on incorporation in terms of differing perspectives on jurisprudence expounded by the two interlocutors.
Without words like “explain,” “why,” or “agree,” then I just took it to throw out the cases and facts. I’m telling you my midterm was at least an A/A-. Instead, me not getting the point of the midterm earned me a B. Screw this. I sent the TA a scathing email about how poorly the objective of the midterm was explained.

I wake up late-ish and Hasan calls me. He wants to get lunch. He’s been around these days sort of, but we haven’t seen him recently. We go to Bayside to get Thai. Review written on Yelp.
It’s a lazy day for me even though I should be writing my paper and studying for my final on Tuesday. For dinner, I cook for mom and I. I roast an entire chicken. It turns out fantastic. Marinate that. Minced garlic, chopped thyme, and butter stuffed in between the breast and skin. My house reeks of thyme. Yummy. Now that I’m recently 21, mom pulls a cool move of offering a glass of wine with dinner. That’s an interesting dynamic.
Avi gives me a call, but he’s in the city and it’s annoying to get all the way in there. I speak to Erdem, Kenny, and Miah about tonight. Hasan has the swell idea of playing Magic. I just want to get the night going and I tell people to come over. We hang out for a bit and we have a few drinks.
I get figgity and want to get moving out. We head over to Tavern because it’s karaoke night. It’s a weird situation where the person running the karaoke machine is singing herself and no one else is singing. The other people are all way older and just sititng at the bar. I sing a few songs and Miah and Kenny get a kick out of it. Hasan joins in on two songs with me. We end up going and dropping off Kenny and Miah. Hasan and I go to Bayside and check out their bars. They’re actually a few crowded places and there’s at least a scene. Then again, it’s more of the Afflication wearing d-bag thing going. We hang out there for a little bit before heading home. It’s probably 2-3:00ish by now. I get home and pass out after not getting much sleep over the week.

Thanksgiving Weekend

November 24, 2009
I’m tired again today so I go to the new place on Northern that’s across the street from the bus station. They didn’t have ice coffee though, no coffee in the middle of fall? Cmon! I had to stick to that hot stuff, blegh. On the bus ride, behind me are two Chinese men speaking Mandarin. One guy seemed to know more about Thanksgiving and it felt like he was almost teaching the other one about the American ritual of Thanksgiving. I took an anthropology class on food and drinking customs. I also got to hear it through their Mandarin. Who said I wasn’t still somewhat Chinese?
On the train to NYU, I see a guy dressed like Jimi Hendrix. He has a small amp attached to him and he’s playing the blues. Awesome guy. I give him $1, but then he doesn’t continue playing and just rants about how the Native Americans got screwed over. Fuck him man.
Spanish class is meh as usual, though this weird Asian kid is hilarious next to me. He always talks about random stuff. He once said that I should go in the front of the class with him to do the stanky leg. I mention Ice Cream Paint Job to him and he literally starts ranting off all the lyrics and semi-dancing to it in his seat. Kid is so freakin’ random and hilarious.
Subway is pretty narsty, but I get a footlong for lunch because shit’s pretty darn healthy and filling for the amount of calories. Well at least I eat half of it and then hours later eat the rest. I get a bit of paperwriting in the library and have nothing to do but wait for my next class. It’s way freaking boring and I just sit around instead of actively trying to participate for points. It’s all about lame stuff about minorities and discrimination and profiling. Wah wah, boo hoo.
On my way home, I pick up some whiskey for the weekend. I get home and chill out and do some paper writing. Turns out I’m working tomorrow. Makin’ monies yo.

November 25, 2009
I go to work and just do some random work. I wouldn’t do anything anyway if I was home and it’s money. More money for the liquor and shit brah. I get Chinese takeout for lunch. It’s all steamed veggies, bland steamed chicken, and white rice. Gotta get that sauce on side so you only use like a bit of the sauce and no kill yourself with the calories of it. That’s how our diet goes playas.
The night before, I make an event on Facebook for people to do pre-Thanksgiving dinner. I planned on cooking Thanksgiving since I would want to do that tomorrow. However, mom’s going to Virigina to see my aunt so I’m not cooking for the fam. Turns out no one was in so I didn’t do that. I instead finish up my paper that’s due at 7.
I try to throw a last second thing to have dinner at my place since no one’s home. People seem to have pre-Thanksgiving plans though and it sorta doesn’t happen.
It’s Evan’s shindig at his place tonight and I end up hitching a ride from Alon. It’s pretty ballah with liquor, loads of people, etc. Also a bit weird since his fam is upstairs.
Highlights? Kenny chillin himself at the TV. Stefan rolling in with two Bud Lights, opening one, splattering it all over the floor, being loud, and causing mad ruckus. I need this kid around more. What mess. Not cool though causing the mess part.
Two Kaitys from high school show up, random much. We all start getting kicked out at one point. Jonah and I hang out at Bolanos for a little bit along with the other Bolanos siblings. That’s the night.

November 26, 2009
I wake up and shmooze around because I’m a bit out of it from last night. I catch up with Corinne a bit even though she invited me up to Boston to have Thanksgiving with her fam. After staying up a bit, I decide to take a nap. I feel like cooking because of the holiday, but it’s almost 6:00 by now. Stop and Shop and Waldbaum’s are close. Thank you Koreans!!! H Mart is open!
I do loads of ambitious cooking plans and buy loads of stuff, but then I feel lazy and don’t carry it through. I eat grandma’s hand made dumplings, which she left loads in the freezer. I also bake some cookies. Almond apple oatmeal cookies. They’re really ugly looking because they’re oatmeal cookies, but they’re really good.
My house is open tonight and I tell people to come over. Candace, Damien, Kim, and their friend come. At least Damien and Kim appreciate the cookie yummyness. I need to bake more oatmeal cookies sometime. They’re so good. All cookies should be oatmeal cookies…
We get some drinking action done. It doesn’t go too long because I have work tomorrow. However, this is not without the awesome chick ever that Avi brings along. She’s pretty drunk and she’s just hilarious. Multiple times during a conversation, I had to put my arm over my mouth because I had to hold back from bursting out laughing. Bolanos was later quick mean and described her as the dumbest girl ever.
She apparently was recently fired from Hooters. She had weed on her and a co-worker ratted her out. Woops I guess. She lets me smell this glasses case and it reeks of weed. She said she can’t smell it anymore because her car is covered with a weed smell.
We then get into a conversation about “breaking the seal” as in peeing when you’re drunk. She says she hates doing that because then she has to pull over and pop a squat. So to remind you. This involves drinking, not peeing, then driving while intoxicated and public urination. Now that is classy stuff. People like this need to be around more for my entertainment.

November 27, 2009
I have work and I get back at 5-6:00ish. I’m driving my uncle’s Altima because mom took the Fit with the fam to Virginia. When I get out of work, I notice that the left side mirror had been sideswiped. It’s still on, but the mirror is cracked in half and broken. That’s bullshit man. However, you gots to fix that shit yourself instead of a repair store. It’s a simple mirror. It would cost loads to actually get that fixed the “right way.”
I get home and I take a nap. Waking up early in the morning for work and going out at night can have its effects. I get up and for some reason feel like cooking Asian. I go to H Mart and buy some Coke Zero for drinking this weekend. You can go on Facebook to see the dish I made.
Some of the guys are going to see Ninja Assassin, but I still hadn’t eaten/worked out. I get my work out done, which I’m still trying hard to keep a good schedule with. At night, Aaron and a bunch of his friends, and Stefan and CNF come over. Then Bolanos. We get some drinking done and then it’s a coincidence that Avi told me about a party and also one of Aaron’s friends.
Bolanos and Stefan go to Wendy’s at 12 for some reason. The rest of us leave and go up North to the party. We get there and it turns out that it’s this is a party that Avi is throwing, but at this girl’s house. That’s a nice situation. Sitting on the table is loaves of bread, oh my god. She works at Murray’s Cheese and we’re making grilled cheese. I get that going because I’m the drunk chef bitches. I serve that shit up. Cutting bread, cooking on the skillet. That’s what I’m about bro.
I get some mad drinking on so before I left, I sent an email to my boss that I might not be coming in. How responsible of me. Apparently Stefan is being gangsta Stefan and really didn’t fly with one of Aaron’s friends, Mariela. It turns out that they had a feud going or something. I walk over to Stefan, who is passed out on the girl’s couch and tell him about Mariela is talking shit. Sorry if you don’t find this funny, but I wanted to start some drama. Unfortunately, we had lost gangsta Stefan and he was just tired and didn’t give two shits.
At one point, Bolanos asks where Avi is since he’s been gone for a while. Being the sharp man that I am, I say that the host has been gone too. We know what’s happening (wink wink). Avi later comes from upstairs and the lady comes down minutes later. I confront Avi and I’m obviously a genius because I figured that out. Apparently he’s also trying to rock a threesome with this girl and Hooter’s girl from last night. Shit is boy got his game rocking. Playa playa.
The girls ends up passed out completely on a couch and we start get going. I get home by 3.

November 28, 2009
I wake up myself at 8:00, but I cannot get up. I snooze more and more until it’s finally 12:00 and it’s too late to get to work. I guess I’ll take the day off. It’s more that I’m just super tired because of hanging out/working. I’ll take it easy today. This way I have time to chill out, do some errands, and get some work done because papers are going to be due soon with the end of the semester coming.
I decide to invite Miah and Bolanos over for dinner. I go to H Mart for some groceries. At my place, I fry up some dumplings. We cook marinated beef. I make some kale for myself. There’s also egg fried rice. We then start drinking and I take loads of shots with Bolanos. Spamps and Caroline pick us three up to go to Josh’s. We’re barely there before we go to a bar.
It’s quite a walk, but the bar is awesome because there are catering containers of stuffing and turkey. I didn’t have any Thanksgiving food so that’s awesome! Nothing’s better than being way drunk and grabbing mad free food. I don’t know if it’s free or anything, but no one at the bar says anything. Bolanos at 12:00 wants to go to the city to hang with Shek. I’m against it, but I’m drunk and Bolanos said he’d pay for the cab all the way from Brooklyn.
We meet up with him at 23rdish. Apparently Atron is in the city and we run into him at the bar. However, he’s got feuds with Shek and stuff, so I only say Hi. The two decide to go to Fat Cat and Shek drives us down there. They play a bunch of ping pong and Bolanos hurts his arm. We go to catch the 3:19 and Shek drives us to Penn.
We run into Atron again and I decide for some reason to brown bag a Bud Light because I’ve never done that before. Bolanos and I down that beer. Atron says that we were way messy. Apparently, I was making weird comments and Bolanos said that he wanted to “fight my back.” He then proceeded to punch my back for no reason. He wanted to get into an actual fight, I don’t know why… Atron wanted to distance himself from our drunk messy selves.
We walk from Little Neck to my house where his car is. We go to 4:00AM. What’s better than an everything bagel with lox spread at this time of night. Nothing. Done deal night.
Btw, I’ve been watching these:

She’s a model that has been traveling Asia and stuff. That’d be an awesome life, though doesn’t make an awesome vlog. However, I think she’s pretty quirky and awkward and funny in a weird sense, which is good since most people who try to be funny just aren’t.

A recently engaged couple and just their life. Charles is just living life with his two dogs. Alli is in Valencia, Spain still has a student.

Thanksgiving is Almost Here

November 16, 2009
During Spanish, I bomb a “quiz.” However, I think we have like 10 quizzes and it’s only like 5% of the classes grade. This mystery novel is so fucking annoying. After that, I have to figure stuff for the ACLU club. After that, I drop over to the post office. I packed up the cupcakes last night and had them frozen. Pack that shit up with some silica packets and get some mad scrap paper to make sure that it doesn’t shift around and get crushed. I’m also pretty excited for this Christmas because I’m planning to do some shopping for people. Just feel like being nice this year even though karma ain’t real.

Novemer 17, 2009
I’m mad fuckin’ exhausted today because I didn’t get sleep over the weekend. I have a midterm tomorrow and I need to get shit studying done. However, I’m sort of an expert on this Constitution stuff already, but I still need to somehow find time to study. This fuckin’ Spanish novel has been taking so much time. I spend my entire commutes reading through only 1-2 chapters and answering the questions. Even then, I don’t comprehend and I do shit on the daily in class quizzes. 10 quizzes count up to 5% of the grade, so they count for nothing. I hit a 50% on one of the multiple choice because this stuff is BS hard. Doesn’t count for the grade, but professor pulled be aside because I’m a B+ student in the class. I say it’s not a big deal because I did score an 80% on the quiz of the day.
After classes, I have my ACLU meeting with a speaker from NYCLU. It goes late until 9:30. Fuck and that’s with the commute. Then again, we have catered sandwiches, which are darn ridiculous good. I take the LIRR this time so I can get home quick and my mom gives me a ride back.

November 18, 2009
I have my Constitution midterm at 6:20. I wake up to be productive and get my workout going. Been a week since I’ve done anything since I visited Bing and I’ve been super tired trying to recover some sleep. I’m relatively prepared for the midterm because a lot of this stuff is repetition of the stuff that I’ve already taken.
It goes pretty well with me basically using up an entire Blue Book though I have gone past one before. It truly feels like an accomplishment when you do that amount of marathon writing, but it does kill my hand. I also get really annoyed to see that this one guy gets to write on his laptop. I guess he has some BS excuse. Dude, if I had a laptop, I would literally write like 10 pages, straight up. I don’t let it bother me though because it’s not my business.
After this, I take the F down the Lower East Side. I saw some Michigan themed Yelp event and Katie pushed me to go. Rocking my MSU shirt that she got me, I go down there to my first Yelp event. I get there by 8:00ish and meet some pretty awesome people. It’s nice to see that the Yelp community is loaded with good peeps.
Some drinking, some talking and shmozin.’ I tell people about my trip to Michigan and it’s fun getting into the conversations about reminiscing about the Midwest connection. We eventually get a game of Kings going. I like one of the cards where you pour a little bit of your beer into an empty cup and the last person drinks it. We ended the game early and I ended up chugging that drink. Heyo, no drink goes undrunken.
Everyone ends up dispersing before 11:00. I take the train to Penn Station. It’s boring without my iPod, which is dead and having issues randomly. Good times, I’ll definitely have to hit up the Yelp event on Friday.

November 19, 2009
I wake up not really hungover. The ride is mad boring because of the lack of an iPod. Class is boring and I skip my 4:55 class. I wake to 4 hours and there is no final so why do I need class? Hell, I don’t even need to do the readings. I get home to update my Yelp account. I have to work up those reviews. I also get some RateMyProfessor going. It’s important to get my important opinions out there. People need my advice.
I don’t end up doing anything and just chill. I end up going to Panera for dinner with Kenny. I get some awesome food actually. I haven’t eaten anything all day. The food ain’t cheap, but it’s nom nom good. I drink mad unlimited ice tea and ice coffee. Stay until 10:20ish and then I drop him off and go back home. A chill day, though I’m looking forward to tomorrow because of the Yelp event and open bar. Lets party party this weekend kids.

November 20, 2009
No one wants to go to the Yelp Event other than Miah. I pick up Miah and we go to my house. I eat some fried dumplings that grandma made. The last of the Chinese food in the house because grandma is over at Aunt’s and I have to fend for myself. We both have a little bit of gin and then walk over to the LIRR. We get to the event early. You can read about the rest on my review.
I leave with a few of the people that I met at the first Yelp event that I went to. Miah is real slow and I tell him where to catch up with us since we’re going to a wine bar in the East Village. I get to the place and he should be right behind us. I find out that literally only moved 2-3 blocks because he was throwing up. Fuckk.
I awkwardly tell people that I’ll be back and run over to find him. I’m sobering up a bit by now and I’m not too happy about running 4-5 blocks across the East Village to find him. I sprint all way while I’m on the phone sort of shouting at him. He’s just drunk and lost. People casually walking around at 10:00ish probably have no clue what’s happening when an Asian man is running top speed while cursing his brains out. I think people make a few comments. I end up finding him and I get him some water.
He was vomiting shit. We walk over back to the wine bar and he can’t go in because he doesn’t feel good. He said he can’t hold down food since sometimes that helps me. He just needs to drink loads of water and chill out to sober up. I go inside for a bit. Liz has to go end up leaving because of work. I want to make it to the other bar where I won a raffle for an open bar. I say Bye to people and Miah and I go.
I need to get him another water and get to the bar. It’s way fucking crowded and after waiting around, I find out that it’s too late to cash in on my open bar. Fuckkkk. I’m sober by now. Evan said that he might come. Without notice, he randomly shows up with Sam, Doug, and Josh. Apparently Doug is back in town for a bit. It’s good that I ran into them and get to chill with them for a bit. Evan and I check up on Miah and he’s still bleh. Doug, Miah, and I want to catch the 1:19 train. We don’t have enough time to take the subway. We have a hard time finding a cab, but end up getting one with this random guy that I also needs to get to Penn. He ends up paying for the cab, nice. We take the train back and Jeremiah comes back to my place. I heat up an entire frozen pizza and eat it myself. I’m such a fuckin’ pig. Jeremiah doesn’t want to eat nor does he want to stay when I ask. He says he’s fine to walk back, so okay.

November 21, 2009
I wake up a bit hungover, but I’m okay a few hours in. I find out from Lauren that she hasn’t heard from Miah and I get freaked out that he didn’t get home safe. Oh shit. For all I know, he could’ve walked home and passed out on someone’s lawn. However, I later find out he’s okay.
For dinner, I meet up with Kerri, Candace, and Kim at Panera. We then go to a bakery and then we hang at Candace’s watching some TV. We watch this silly thing about drunk people and police tapes of their antics. Jonah shows up at 10-11:00 from dinner at Flushing. We decide to play Mall Madness, which has the most ridiculous set up ever. So much labor is needed. In the end, it’s basically like Monopoly, but actually ends instead of going on and on. Kerri has to go and the remaining four of us play Scattergories. We go through all twenty lists until 3-4:00AM. I end up losing. I had a lead at first, but I’m not the best at the game and I got tired and start blanking out.

November 23, 2009
I wake up not wanting to go to class. I’m pretty fuckin’ tired and not in the mood to step into the cold. I compensate, on campus, I get two eggs on a roll, which isn’t too unhealthy. Spanish class is just writing, but we have a really annoying test next week. I get to the library and I realize I don’t have my headphones. I’m not sitting here for 6 hours waiting for class without headphones. I want to go back, but I decide I should get work done and borrow a mouse and headphones from the library.
Brah, this shit is mad annoying.

Slow at Home, Fast at Bing

Novemer 7, 2009
Hasan doesn’t feel like going out. Miah, Kenny, and I chill out at Bolanos’. Kenny passes out and we leave at 12-1:00ish to drop him off and we run over to On the Run for a snack. I get a soda and a Buffalo Wrap. It has the longest list of ingredients ever, but it’s pretty healthy and actually tastes okay. It’s not the best food, but I mean, I used to eat loads of fast food at late night…
We watch TV and chill and finally Miah and I leave at 3-4:00. A chill recovery night compared to crazy yesterday.

November 8, 2009
I procrastine during the afternoon, but at least I get some guitar practice in. At night, I get some reading done along with mad TV watching. At 9:00, I get Miah and Kenny and we go to Panera. Great place because of unlimited ice tea and ice coffee. Their coffee is fantastic and it’s an awesome place to just sit around, chill out, and joke around. We leave when the place closes before 11:00.

November 11, 2009
Awesome much, Gossip Girl is doing mad NY stuff because a few of them go to NYU. Then mentioned Bar None twice, but I’m pretty sure they don’t have beer pong there. They talk about spinning the cube at Cooper Square. They mention the shitty bathroom in Fat Black Pussy Cat, which I should check out. Then Dan gets a threesome with Vanessa and Olivia.

November 12, 2009
I have my Spanish presentation today on the Cuban sandwich. It’s not bad except I get a bit of the speaking jitters at the beginning. I also do a silly thing where I recommend a Cuban sandwich place during the presentation. There’s “question time” after a presentation, but a girl asks where the restaurant in Midtown is. My English brain flicks on and I answer “in the Theater District around 47th.” My professor shoots me a “WTF” look and the class is confused. I sorta realize by then that I’ve made a mistake. A little embarrassing.
Also for Spanish, we’ve finished the textbook with grammer and vocab. Instead, we’re doing a “novel” that’s made with questions and stuff. Even with having this much experience with Spanish, trying to read fiction is ridiculous. I don’t know how the hell they expect us to spend 2-3 hours before every class meticulously reading this bullshit.
After class, I go with my presentation partner and three others from the class to Crumbs randomly. Something to treat myself to after the silly presentation. When I get to Crumbs, I know that I should get something for Katie. We were supposed to do a cupcake tour in New York. They say I need to go online to order them if I want them shipped.
At the library, I look online and I can only order by the half dozen. Fuck that shit bro. At 2:00, I have to go to the Psych Center to do a study. I check out some disturbing images for thirty minutes and do some button pressing. In the middle of it, I have to watch fucking a Boeing 747 documentary, again. I’ve done another study before where I had to watch this hour long thing before. It’s so frakin’ boring. It’s basically to occupy myself so that the second part of the study can go on with a fresh mind. It’s an hour and a half and I get $15. That’s awesome. I would’ve been waiting for my afternoon class anyway. Awesome way to make a few bucks randomly.
After that, I decide to go ChikaLicious for cupcakes after I find out that Crumbs ran out of Katie’s favorite, red velvet. On the way, I see Jonah walking and he decides to come with me. I get four mini cupcakes because that’s all they have. Jonah also mentions that it was on New York Magazine and suggested to by their guest reviewer. I have to figure out how to ship it though and bring it back to freeze. It’s a bit of a hassle to be so deal with bringing home. I have to pull them out gently, which gets a bit of frosting on my hands, so that I can put napkins under them so they don’t jiggle around and ruin the frosting even more than I did.
At night, I find out that Josh is going upstate to visit Scott and he agrees that we both go up and he drops me off at Bolanos’. I pack loads of stuff and have to go to sleep early because I have to wake up at 5:30 since we’re leaving at 6.

November 13, 2009
I wake up at 5:30 to shower. Josh picks me up before 6:30 and we go to Bagel Man. We then drive up while listening to some albums. We make awesome time and we get there by 10:00ish. We hang out for a bit and watch Always Sunny and then Josh goes up to Scott in Ithaca. Bolanos and I go to Chris’ Diner, which is really good and ridiculously cheap. Compared to NY diners, it’s half price. Three eggs and sausage/bacon/or ham under $4. Boy is the purchasing power so much stronger here…
We then go to the liquor store to get whiskey. Then t o the supermarket for cola and Black and Tan Yuengling. We chill out for a bit, but Bolanos is mad tired from not sleeping and I am too. At 3:00, we decide to take a nap. I go for an hour and watch TV while Bolanos is out for 4 hours. Tim gets back from work at DP Dough, I contact Atron, and we meet up at Tully’s for dinner. It’s 9ish by now and we have to wait, so I get a huge beer at the bar. Then I get an Alabama Slammer at the table, which is mighty yummy (vodka, SoCo, grenadine, and orange juice.). I go healthy and get a grilled chicken sandwich with pasta salad (instead of fries). It’s loaded with wayyyy too much ranch and I remove at least two tablespoons worth. Fuck that.
We regroup and Tim, Bolanos, and I go back. The drinks are working and I chill out for 20-30 minutes. Then I’m ready to pregame. We have beer and whiskey and Diet Pepsi Lime. I miss that stuff. It’s so good. Tim has work at 12:00, so Bolanos and I get a ride downtown right on the way. We go to Tom and Marty’s which is a decent bar. Atron shows up. I start off with a hugggeee gin and tonic. It cost only $5, while in the city, a double would cost at least $10. Hollerr.
Atron shows up and we stand around. There’s a wheel behind the bar that they spin. It spins onto a drink special and for that time, drinks of that type are like $2. I order a watermelon shooter, yum. We then go the Rat, which is pretty cool since I haven’t been there. It’s been poppin and there’s a big dance floor. We then move to Scoreboard, which was closed down and used to be called Sports Bar. We see classic Mike Weiss there. Atron has to go because he has something to do in the morning. The place is pretty shit show. We see Brendan, classic. I’m drunk, but it’s one of those places that has bad floors that should NOT be wet. I slip and fall real bad. I bruise up my knee like shit. Bolanos and I walk back at 2-3:00. Bolanos is mad fuckin’ drunk and sorta passes out. I order DP Dough. It gets there by 4:00ish and time comes back before 6:00. I go to sleep then in Jess’ room.

November 14, 2009
I wake up at 1:00ish and I can’t go back to sleep. I’m mad hungry and we go to the mall because Bolanos wants to get a Yankees shirt (it’s murder they charge that much for “official” bullshit). I get a chicken sandwich at Arby’s. Bolanos also needs jeans since he only has one pair. I help him pick out two pairs at PacSun, where I get my jeans.
We get back. We chill and Tim goes to the library. I decide to cook sloppy joes for dinner. We go to the supermarket for it. Bolanos argues with me that I need to get “sloppy joe” mix, which is disgusting. It’s literally tomato puree and high fructose corn syrup, fuck that, I’m not cooking with that garbage. When we get back, I make some bruschetta with the store baked everything Italian bread. We eat mad sloppy joes. Legit.
A little while after, Grif and Jess show up and two friends. I pregame a bunch and we go to a house party that’s really close. It’s pretty dead and we get out of the $5 cover that they try to charge. There’s a band playing and it gets a bit bigger. Nice being able to smoke inside a house. Bolanos and I have a Poland Spring bottle of some whiskey. I then challenge him to a $5 bet in 1 v 1 beerpong. I lose. Sigh. We leave shortly to walk to downtown. I start running ahead of the crowd, which is not awkward… I need to get my night going and have to get downtown to meet up.
I split up from the group and meet up with Atron. I see my boy Murray. I then run into Vucko and Nate that were on my floor freshman year. They barely recognize me and they get me two shots. I get shwasted and Atron tells me that people are going to the strip club. I randomly speak to Ala and we’re both pretty drunk. I don’t really rememeber what we were talking about because I’m way drunk. We jump in a cab and we’re almost there until a cop pulls the cab over. Holy shit.
That’s crazy because I’m sitting on the floor of the cab van and the cops could’ve done something about that. Instead, the cops only ticket the guy for speeding while we’re already there at the strip club. For some reason, I’m not sure why, I’m one of the only people charged for a $10 cover. Confused. The shots start hitting me. We sit down around the stripper area and get enticed for a George Washington. Classy man in my drunken state, I offer the single from my mouth. I then run to the bathroom to get some vomit action going. I walk outside to get some more vomit action going away from the front door. Atron and the rest come out and I think the bouncer told them that I was officially kicked out. Second time that this has happened to me. I’m about that. Got kicked out of a strip club. Nice job bro.
I take a cab to downtown where Bolanos and Tim are eating. Bolanos apparently bed against Tim that he couldn’t finish a panini. It was mad easy. We then walk back and I just remember passing out, not before eating 2 sloppy joe sandwiches I made out of the leftovers.

November 15, 2009
I wake up at 12-1:00 and not really hungover or anything. However, there’s still damage. My knee is still ripped up from falling down at Scoreboard. I also have a bump on my head today and I’m not sure what it’s from. Nice memory my friend. I’m starving and grab some of the leftovers because I’m all about waking up starving. Josh comes over from Ithaca and hanging with Scott and we watch some football. The Lions and Vikings game is on. Shit’s mad lopsided.
During halftime, we go to Wegman’s, which is sort of Binghamton’s upper class supermarket like Whole Foods. The scam before was to steal the sandwiches from their deli because it’s right next to the entrance/exit. However, Brendi got caught once and had to pay $80 in reparations. I end up getting a roast beef on wheat with Swiss. I also have a cup of their yummy shrimp bisque. It’s way too much food and I def fattended up like crazy this weekend. I’ll def have to take care of myself when I get home and get back to working out and my diet.
Before 6:00, Josh and I take the drive down. We hit some traffic and I’m home before 10:00.

Back to GN and PARADE

October 29, 2009
I have some class and at 7:00, my mom comes into the city to move everything out so I can move back home. So far it looks like I’m staying in Great Neck and commuting. I move everything and we stop over at Artichoke. On the way back, even though it’s 8:00, there’s loads of traffic. I don’t really do much for the night other than some of Atron’s homework. It’s actually fun reading his comics homework.

October 30, 2009
I wake up late and it’s a lazy day for me. I should really get stuff done instead of just watching TV. I haven’t worked out I forevs. I was supposed to have dinner with Kenny in the city, but it turns out that Corinne is still coming down with her boyfriend and staying at her sister’s apartment, so I’ll be hanging with them tonight.
I miss a train, so I take the 8:51 by driving to Little Neck and taking the LIRR into the city, then the R train down to St. Marks. I meet up with Corinne and Mike at Kenka. It’s a pretty authentic Japanese place and I know that Corinne would enjoy that. We have to wait for a bit because the place is darn busy.
Corinne and I share a bottle of sake because Mike still isn’t 21 and doesn’t really drink. We split little dishes. Fried potato croquets with spicy tartar sauce, fried mackrel, sliced cow tongue, fried gyoza, and fried rice. For desert, we had mochi with green tea ice cream in the middle. It’s been really weird, but I’ve really hated sweets recently. Like I purposely refuse them and actually don’t care for the taste compared to savory goodness. Katie would so love it if she was here having some. It is a nice dinner. We then walk over to her sister’s place in Stuy Town and I say Hi. However, I need to catch the 1:19 and her place is frakin out of the way. I decide to avoid the subway and walk all the way to Penn Station. I leave at 12:35 and I make it with only 5 minutes to spare. Good thing I walked that fast and I jogged a bit of it.
On my way back, I catch up with Atron. I also call Erdem and he actually picks up. I ask him if he’s around since we’ve gone to Astoria at 3:00AM before. He refuses and I tell him that we should get lunch tomorrow. Yea right like we will… Bolanos is apparently throwing a party at his place. I speak to him for a while and then I get back and take the car back home. A nice dinner. I think tomorrow I should be going to the parade with Corinne, her boyfriend, her sister, and friends.

I woke up at 1:00-2:00 even though I set my alarm at 12:00. I guess I haven’t had much sleep recently and I really needed a weekend to recharge. I shmooze around and play some guitar for a few hours. I wait a few hours until I have some Total Protein with skim millk. I ask Hasan if he wants to grab a bite because I want to get out of the house. He says that we can get dinner so I do some reading in the time being.
I meet up with Hasan and we go to Tomi Sushi. We catch up a bit. He seems to be doing okay and the same as usual. Hopefully we’ll be hanging more now that I’m back home. I get home and I decide to go into the city for the parade with Corinne, Mike, Courtney, and her friends. I drive over the the Little Neck Station and take the train. On the way, I find out that they’re hanging at Courtney’s place because it’s pouring in the city. I take the R down to 14th and then the L over to Stuy Town. It’s raining and I get there past 9:00. It’s a nice apartment and I have a drink there. People keeping it casual with that and I’m driving, remember.
We watch Taken while there’s some pumpkin carving going on. I’ve seen Taken with Katie before and it’s an awesome movie. Liam is the shit. We also have the baked pumpkin seeds from the pumpkins, yummy. They’re actually stolen from her complex, but lets keep that sush sush. Somehow Corinne and I decide that I should have kitten whiskers like her. She puts them on me and we take pictures of it. After the movie, I want to catch the 12:19 back and leave at 11:30. On the walk back, I speak to Jonah and Evan to make sure if anything is going on. Turns out that nothing is going on and people seem to be having a wild time because everyone is dressed up. While I’m dressed up regular, at least I have my whiskers.
Will and Jill are out in Brooklyn, but that’s not happening if I have to work around the LIRR, also, I’m already at Courtney’s.
On the train, I run into Kyle from high school who’s banging on the train bathroom door. Turns out that it’s locked and he doesn’t recognize me until I keep repeating his name and he realizes that me and that who else random would know his name. We chat for a bit and he was hanging out with South High people at NYU. I try to find out if anyone back at GN wants to do anything because we have an extra hour. No one.
I get back and just chill out with a few drinks because I’m bored as shit. I grab a smoke, speak to Atron, time for sleep I guess? I think this is how social life is going to work now that I’m back in GN.

November 1, 2009
For dinner, Miah, Kenny, and I get dinner at Aegea because it has a TV for Game 4 of the World Series. I get their Fall salad, which is yummy. It has green, walnuts, granny smith, golden raisins, and raspberry dressing. Afterwards, I need groceries for the commute so we go to Waldbaum’s. It’s closing so I only can grab baby carrots and apples. We speak to Erdem and he needs to take a shower before meeting us at a bar to watch the game.
We go to the bar next to McDonald’s on Northern Blvd. We go in and it’s only has like seven people, all white and not under 30. A waitress or friend of the bartender walks over to ask what we want. I don’t order anything because I’m driving. Kenny orders a Sam Adams and Miah orders a Blue Moon. She talks over and tells the bartender. The guy shouts at our table that we can go to Bell Blvd if we want a Sam Adams. I’m confused by this and I consider it anti-Boston sentiment or something. He tells Kenny to come over to the bar. Kenny only has $5 on him and asks what he can get. The bartender tells him he can get the door for $5 and go to Bell Blvd for that. He sits down and we awkwardly sit around until we decide to leave. It’s a weird situation after Kenny got dealt with like that, Miah not even getting his beer, and the few white people dancing around after repeating some shit country song.
By the time we leave, it’s way weird and it’s fucked up that they guy was clearly messing with Kenny for being Asian since Bell Blvd is in Bayside, where more Asians are. Also, this is a Little Neck pub, you’re going to tell me they don’t have a $5 beer? You can go fuck yourself. Kenny, Miah, and Hasan have been there before and know the relative prices. Anyway, go to Tavern. It’s actually a pretty big place and has a big back area. There’s loads of Halloween decoration still up. There’s a handful of people there watching the game. The bartender is relatively nice. I stick to a Diet Coke while Kenny and Miah get a drink. Hasan orders a gin and tonic when he gets in. The place is pretty cool for serving food. The bartender gives us some chips and actually toaster ovens up some hot dogs and buns when a guy orders.
Into the 7-9th inning, there’s free sausage and peppers offered for the bar. I grab a beer with that. The Yankees end up winning a tight game. Yankee numba one. Can’t wait for them to win and for the parade. After the game, we go home. Apparently Friday is karaoke night, I def want to go.

November 2, 2009
I wake up at 8:20 because I want to be early. I grab some food and I get to the station with a quick easy parking spot. I end up getting to the station 30 minutes early and grab a bagel and cream cheese at the deli. I wait at the Little Neck station for the 9:35 and get to campus by 10:20 for my 11:00 class. For some reason, I’m actually in a darn good mood. I think it’s partly because I recovered on sleep over the weekend.
My class ends at 7:35 and I end up having to take the 8:19 back. Getting back late these days. I actually catch Kenny who jumps on the same train from Flushing. I get home by 9:40ish.

November 3, 2009
I wake up a bit later to do the rinse and repeat. For lunch, I get Subway again. However, it’s hard to eat because I had mad toasted Ciabatta sandwiches over the weekend that ripped up my mouth. I also have a midterm for my Constitution and Minorities class in the afternoon, which isn’t too bad, though I had to scramble during the essay and it isn’t very cohesive. I hope that knowing the terms and basically listing them in an essay is enough.
Afterwards, I work with my partner from class on our event/group project thing. Then I have my ACLU meeting. It’s at 8:00, which means I’m getting home late, but what the heck, I’m Treasurer and there’s yummy Thai food. We discuss some immigration issues and talk about our future meetings. This is while I work on some chicken pad thai, spring rolls with duck sauce, crab/cream cheese ragoons with sweet spicy sauce, and pineapple curry rice. The meeting ends at 9:00 and I get to catch the 9:18 LIRR. I finally get home at 10:00ish and I’m still pretty stuffed by from the Thai food, so no need for dinner.

November 5, 2009
I decide to change it up and take the N20/21 bus to Flushing (25 minutes), then the 7 Express train to the city (50), then the NRW train downtown to NYU (15). On the way there it took about an hour and ten minutes, or took a bit longer on the way back. It’s a bit quicker to drive to the Great Neck LIRR station and the train and then the subway. However, it’s annoying to wake up have to drive and find parking. Then, on the way back, I sometimes miss the LIRR and end up having to wait 30 minutes. I’m lazy and prefer dealing with all that then having to drive. It also saves my mom almost $200 for the monthly for the LIRR.
My laptop is being a bitch by not recognizing the battery and only working when I have it plugged in. It fixes itself here and there, but I don’t know what else to do. I Googled for the fix and tried the options, but nothing is really working.
At the library, I borrow two books. One on Scalia and Justice Breyer’s Active Liberty so I have something to do/read on the commute back home.
I find out that Bolanos is coming back for the parade. We end up going to Tavern at 10:00ish. Right before that, I pregame like a monster and get pretty shwasted. I get into Hasan’s car and I fuckin’ smell like a distillery. At the bar, I get two Bug Lights and a Gusiness. Hasan has class tomorrow and decides to leave so we all need his ride by 12:00ish. Bolanos and I are going to the parade tomorrow morning and Stefan is keeps trying to plan it so that we have to go super early.
I get back and hang around for an hour or so until going to sleep and setting an alarm for 8:40. I had a light dinner and don’t eat anything before I sleep. Gots to rock this diet well.

November 6, 2009
I wake up at 8:20ish when Bolanos calls me and wakes me. He goes to get coffee and comes over to pregame for the parade. We have vodka and coke and coffee and vodka. We drink for an hour or so and start walking to the Little Neck LIRR. We’re pretty drunk and take a 10:50 train I think. We get downtown and it’s crowded as hell. We walk all over the place to find a good spot to see stuff, but we can’t find anything. I have a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label on me. We put that in the Dunkin Donuts cup with coffee. We finish that pretty quickly and that’s like 6 shots. The people aren’t ridiculous like I’ve seen from the Giants Parade, which is a shame.
We decide that we’ve had enough of this and look for a bar. We find a bar randomly in that area. It’s way crowded and everyone is trying to order drinks… At 12:00PM. Bolanos and I have 2-3 Brooklyn Lagers at $4 a pop. While at the bar, this woman in her 50s or something starts chatting with Bolanos and I. She calls Bolanos handsome or something and grabs his face and stuff. Then she tries to hook me up with her daughter, but apparently I’m not Japanese and too “young” even though she’s 22.
Stefan actually joins us. We sit at this table and I don’t remember the sequence of events, but these two college girls are also at our table. Bolanos chats her up and I’m pretty sure I’m not the best wingman being all drunk. It also doesn’t help that I fell on the ground while we were simply sitting on a bench and pulled the cushion along with me. Nothing happens out of the chats with the cute girls. We meet up with Josh and we go up to a bar in the West Village called Blind Tiger. I’m mighty fucking drunk from all that drinking. I didn’t eat up the night before, didn’t eat breakfast, and didn’t have lunch. We get to the bar at 2:00ish. I don’t order a drink because of the drunkenness. I walk over to Bleecker Street pizza for two slices of Grandma. So good, one of my fav pizza places in the city.
I hang out at the bar and Jonah ends up coming, I’m still hungry and go to Five Guys with Bolanos for a burger and fries. The burger is meh and a bit sloppy. Despite all the food, the alcohol has still hit me and I still avoid drinking and continue being drunk. At night Kenny shows up after work. And Evan also shows. We go over to the liquor store because they want to drink and then we go to Evan’s dorm.
It’s been 5 hours since a drink, yet this shit is still hitting me rough. Once we to Evan’s dorm, I can taste the sour saliva taste in your mouth when you’re about to throw up. Immediately when I get into Evan’s dorm, I know it’s coming. I put my finger in my throat and it just shoots out. I throw up three times and take pictures of it. My gag reflex is usually really bad, but I guess this time I was really due for it. I’m not really drunk, but eating two slices of pizza, a burger, and fries adds up. The combination of liquor is not good and I had to get out of me. Now I feel a lot better. Stefan has left my now. Kenny, Kerri, Josh, Bolanos, and Evan’s roommate all hang in Evan’s room. I go over to Evan’s top bunk and lay down. I don’t really pass out, but resting really helps rejuvunate me.
By 8-9:00ish, we all move out. Kenny goes back home. Josh splits. Jonah and Kerri go to get dinner. Evan and Bolanos are drunk. Actually, Evan is just super drunk. I haven’t had a drink now for like 7 hours and I’m feeling good. However, we walk around all over the place for no reason. Bolanos gets a beer at Pourhouse. Then we walk all over the place. Then we go to a deli and they get food. Evan is so drunk that he drops a Vitamin Water there. We walk to Still just to use the bathroom. We walk around more and run into Josh. We go to a sports bar and I grab a beer. It’s been a super long day so Bolanos and I take the 11:50 train back. We walk back and I stay on the computer for a bit until sleep at 3:00.
I’ve been listening to Howard all the time still and it’s awesome. As for TV, How I Met Your Mother is back, but it’s meh right now. Mad Men recently had my favorite episode. Sons of Anarchy is decent. Modern Family is awesome and like Arrested Development coming back. White Collar seems promising. Always Sunny has still always been the shit.

October 19, 2009
By the way, this is my new jam. http://www.youtube.com/user/CTFxC
This vlog is pretty cool. From what I gather, Charles is hanging with Alli, while she’s taking classes in Valencia, Spain (A beauutiifull city by the way). I think they’ve been going out for some amount of years and there’s actually an adorable video of his marriage propsal at some waterfalls in Spain. I know, I’m a mushball. Either way, they plan on making a YouTube video for every single day for a year. Pretty fun following their lives and living in awesome ass hell Spain. I’m jealous. If I did a trip, I would so buy a video camera to do the same.

Dreamtime: You want to hear some crazy dreams that I wrote down after I woke up?
I was running around Russel Gardens in my socks. I was bored so I decided to sneak into people’s houses and walk around just to have fun. I ended up getting caught and pretended I was drunk and lost and then just ran out of the house.
There was a gorilla that had to destroy this big robot. There was some douchebag evil scientist in the robot and the gorilla had to beat the shit out of the robot.
I was part of a biker gang, Sons of Anarchy from TV, and we killed Drake. However, we faked his death as if he got into an accident.

October 20, 2009
“I’m a cheesball, but Gossip Girl strikes chords sometimes: “No matter how old we get, we always need a place called home. Without the people you love most, you can’t help but help feel all alone in the world.”
Pretty much a long day. Not sure how I did on my midterm. My professor was weird as hell. She called me last night from Cleveland at 10:30. No clue how she has my number. She asked about this really insignificant thing that I couldn’t answer. I just apologized and she was like okay, Bye. She also asked if I would have my phone on the next day and that I better show up to class.
Turns out that she’s dealing with the class from Cleveland. She calls one of the students and tries to direct the class from there to get us into our groups for a project. As usual, she’s really confusing and awkward and that comes off through the student. We eventually figure it out ourselves. How silly.
Anyway, loaded up with work. Hopefully a good weekend to deal with it.

October 23, 2009
I try to hang with Will and Jill that I met last week. However, they’re at Webster Hall it’s messed up with getting in so I go to another thing. Derrick is bartending at this bar and Jonah shows up for a bit. It’s a quick night and I had a few beers.

October 24, 2009
I have to wake up at 7:00 to shower and head to Brooklyn to nerd it up. A qualifer where winner gets a trip to San Diego and play the majors for $40,000. I’m set up to do well, but things don’t go too well. My friend gets into the Top 8, but loses in the quarters. Heartbreaker, prizes go up to 24th place ane I get 25th. I could’ve just left instead of putting in the time and missed out on $36 value of prize.
I get back at night. I find out that Chris Q and Candace are at Stout. People are hanging out at Josh’s, but Bolanos tells me at like 11:15 and it takes me a bit to get there and I’m assuming people would be leaving early, so I did’t go. At Stout, we sing Ms. Jackson, Single Ladies, and Whole Lotta Love. At one point, the bar offers up free shots for the table. It was three of us and this one friend and some other people that we met at the bar. The friend is sitting at the end of the table and swoops in for the shot. I randomly stand there and realize that I’m the only one that doesn’t get a shot, oh fuck that shit yo.

October 26, 2009
So basically the woman smacked me with information last night that I needed ot leave because of dumb reasons. I just say Okay and ask my mom if she knew about this. She didn’t. The tenant is a friend of a friend. It sorta hits me hard for the obvious reasons, but I try not to think about it. The same goes for during the day.
At night, I awkwardly have to tip toe into the house. I try to clean the bathroom because that’s one of the things she complained about. I keep things clean and I guess if I have to take up maid service to do more than that, sure. I even did cleaning last week. During it, she stops me and rudely asks “Hello?!” instead of even saying my name. She asks what I’m doing. I tell her that because she had issues, I’m trying to clean up. She says she doesn’t want me to and that it’s “insulting” and has not changed her mind that she needs me gone.
It’s still hitting me hard, but I don’t have to think of it as my fault. I’m a person that sticks to themselves in my room and I don’t make any noise. I don’t do anything to bother anyone or go into the living room and I’m barely in the kitchen, only a few minutes at a time to heat up food. She bitched at me crazy for once leaving a few kitchen cabinet doors open or leaving a pot cover out. Sorry about two little mistakes. I really apologized and they were little things that slipped my head. It’s not like I left the kitchen a mess with dishes in the sink. Basically, the woman is crazy so I shouldn’t let it bother me like I did stuff wrong.
I speak to my mom and she says she can move me out on Thursday. However, it does hit me how life is going to work now. I’m going to have to probably wake up 8-9:00 on Mon/Tues/Thurs for my 11:00 Spanish class. Mon-Thurs, I won’t be leaving campus until 6:15 or 7:35, which means I’m getting back at night night.
Also, social life is balls now. Usually, I can just figure stuff out and just walk out or take a quick subway. Now I have to plan it hours and hours in advance. I’ll have to take the 20 minute walk to the train and be on that train and the subway. The way back will be a hassle with the same trip back, which takes a good almost 2 hours.
I get a call from my mom that someone has a place in the Lower East Side and that I can maybe stay there for the rest of the semester. I call this person and I have to check out the place on Wednesday and find out if it will work out. Hopefully I will be moving in this weekend so that I won’t be commuting. Also, I’m really fucking excited if I end up moving there because it’s a really awesome area and I’ve always really wanted to explore it. I guess I’ll have to see how things go when I check out the place.
At night, I really don’t want to deal with this shit. I speak to Katie for a bit and go to get some food outside because I want to be out in the open around this fuckin’ crazy bitch and her family who’s visiting.
I find out that she sent my mom an email of my room when I wasn’t there. Seriously, my jeans on the floor, my notes on the ground, and I use the dresser top to store some folded clothes? Seriously? Either way, I can clean up the room and will leave it in pristine condition when I leave. And seriously, she makes it seem like we owe her money for the endevour from the email she sent to my mom and my mom forwarded to me. That’s hilarious. My mom paid the whole semester up front so we’re getting half the money back. Stupid bitch. If no, small claims court here we’re coming fucker.

October 28, 2009
It’s a rainy nasty day, but I have to check out the apartment in the Lower East Side at 12:00. I sleep at 3:00 since I can wake up late. Instead, the lady wakes me up at 8:30 screaming that painters are going to be here in 30 minutes to paint the entire apartment. This is different from me hearing that it’s supposed to be tomorrow. I’m fucking exhausted and I have to completely move everything in the room so that it’s away from the wall. Jesus Christ, so tiring. Then I find out and the painters aren’t coming. That’s enough. I can’t deal with this stress, especially being so tired so I leave for campus to just sit around.
Anyway, a long day and I find out at night that I probably will be commuting. I can’t move into the new apartment for a few days. I’d have to move home, then move into the city, and then only stay there for a month and a half. The commute won’t be too bad and I guess I’ll just have to deal with this all.
For the whole day, I had my feet wet because it was raning real bad and I had to walk all over. I didn’t want to go back to the apartment to change sox. I had two egg roll sandwiches for breakfast because they always help a shit mood. I fight not passing out at the library and get my homework for the week done. After my class, I get back this shit place for my last night because I’m moving out after my classes tomorrow. Meh, hopefully Great Neck won’t be too bad. Can’t wait for this weekend to start already so I can not deal with this BS.

The Beast is OUT

October 15, 2009
Fuck this city man. It’s been a nice 60s. Then it’s been recently dropping to the 50s. Then now we’ve randomly hit 40 and heavy rain with a wind chill of 34. This shit is way rough. Walking around campus is balls. The diet is killer. Still rocking the diet with an apple for breakfast walking to class and then brown rice and veggies/chicken breast for lunch. Classes are okay. Atron and CNF should be in the city tomorrow, so I have to plan that soon.
Surprise! I spoke to Jenn! I forgot that she actually is taking a break in Korea for a semester. She seems to be really enjoying Korea and is planning to get back in January to continue at school. The time difference is rough, but we’ll see if I catch up with her more. She was apparently having sleep issues at 3-4:00AM her time…

October 16, 2009
I wake up and get some work done. I figure stuff with CNF and Atron because we’re gonna be crazy tonight. Tom is over at CNF’s and we plan to meet for dinner. Atron gets into the city by 8:30. For me, I can’t figure an outfit so I end up having to meet them by 9:30 after taking the NYU down to St. Marks area. They’re done eating by then and I need dinner so I go to Two Boots. $1 pizza and I remove the cheese. Basically two big pieces of bread. Perfect food for a night of drinking. We first go to Ace Bar, which is pretty empty since it’s 10:00ish. We really start the night early.
We play skee ball and loser pays for the game. For a dollar, we play a bunch of games, but I give up after one since I suck at it compared to CNF and Josh. I immediately grab a beer. Then another beer and also one for Atron. Then while waiting, it’s cheap for a PBR pint, so I get two more beers and chug away to get a good drunk going. We stay there for a while until 11:00ish and get the group moving to Superdive. Unfortunately, it’s a “private party” for the bar. Screw that. We would around for a while waiting for Candace, Jonah, and Kerri to cab over from the Sunset Rubdown concert. I try to bring people over to Sidebar, but it’s too far west and we stop to go the Blind Pig, which is a dive/sports bar on the way. We congratulate Atron for him hitting his goal on the LSAT.
Atron and I go out for a cigarette. Atron being Atron sparks up a random conversation with this group of people about grain alcohol. Skeevy as hell, the girl runs across the street to pick up a liquor store bag (black with stripes) from under a car. Apparnetly she hid it there. Wow, that’s skeevs to the balls. We get introduced to Jill and Will and talk around the usual. How old, where you from, where you live, yadda yadda.
Jill and Will go to Beauty Bar next door. Atron decides to go back with the group, while drunk Darwin is ready for fun new experiences so I follow them along. It’s her friend Melissa’s birthday. The bar is pretty cool with a dancefloor in the back. We get some dancing done, but big Will is quite drunk and gets us kicked out. Will is a package of drunken gayness. He picked up both Atron and I. There was also some big gay bear hugs involved. Messy times. We get him some water and then we leave. We go outside and look again for the liquor. Apparently Jill hid it somewhere else under a car. We find it and we go to Nathan’s and I’m still dieting so I grab a hot dog. We meet up with some of their friends. We walk around to somewhere and then I lose them. I give Jill a call and they’re cabbing it home so I stumble home at 2:15ish. A fun night.

October 17, 2009
Don’t know why I stayed up until 4:00AM drinking water. I sleep all the way until 2:30ish. I don’t know why. Guess I’m tired and get woken up when Katie texts me that she’s at the MSU Football game. I catch some of that until I decide to go to the nearby Jess’ Bakery to get curry noodles with chicken, beef, and shrimp. Nom nom. Lets see what tonight brings along now.
I end up pregaming like a beast. Everyone’s hanging out already and I have a really hard time trying to find where the guys are. I can’t find it and end up walking around a looottt. I speak to Bowen on the phone about some films. By the time I get to the bar in the East Village, I’m pretty shwasted and I didn’t have a big dinner. I go to a place for $1 pizza. I take off the cheese and just eat “bread” like last night. I go through three thin slices. At Hi Fi, Tom, Jonah, Josh, Spamps, Stefan, CNF, and Caroline are there. Stefan, Caroline, and Spamps leave pretty early. I go through two beers there. Atron is nowhere to be found. We go into this “reserved room” area to hang and sit down. Turns out that no one actually has it reserved and we take it. It’s a pretty decent bar.
I finally get in touch with Atron and he’s at Mars Bar. We’re at Crif Dogs and I simply say Goodbye to the guys and go for a run. On the walk to Crif Dogs, some guy in a cab asks for directions or something. I try to help and he’s rude like he doesn’t need no help from me. I give him the finger and he gets offended. He can go fuck himself. Idiot. It’s seven blocks down and two blocks over. I run there by 1:00 to meet Annie, Brian, and his friend. I haven’t seen those two in a while and I say Hi. We leave Mars Bar and try to get into Von, which is a clubbish place. Atron is drunk and forgets his birthday when he gets asked by the bouncer. Atron and I split with the others and we go to Sophie’s. I get a Sicilian slice when Atron gets pizza. Boy, that’s my fourth slice for the day and sixth slice of the weekend. Jeez, that’s a lot of pizza dinner business. Then again, I can treat myself for this weekend after all the dieting and working out that’s been done.
Atron and I hang out at Sophie’s for a while and Jonah and Josh come over. Apparently I cockblocked Atron in my drunken mess and I didn’t notice. Atron eventually takes the train back. We meet up with some of Josh’s friends and we head over to his dorm since he goes to NYU. People smoke some weed. I drink some beer. I actually Swifer his floor for him for some reason. It gets 4:00ish and I’m like dude, I should go home. I take that long stumble home. I get back and drink myself the mad water and somehow I stay up until 7AM. Jeez. That was quite a weekend.

The Computer is BACK!

October 7, 2009
I try to get some snoozing going even though my alarm clock is set for 12:05 because I only have a 6:20 class tonight. Right before my alarm for 12:45 rings, I get a call from Corinne and catch up with her. I then procrastinate a load while watching Top Chef All Stars while working on a bowl of Special K Protein Plus with skim milk. I finally picking myself up to go to campus by 2:30 because I have my board meeting for the ACLU club.
After the meeting, I sit around in the library. I then get a call from Tekserve that my Macbook is finally done! Huzzah!!! Yess!! Jubilation! Yes!!
Part of this might be the angry email that I sent out and they responded that they would expedite the process and contact me today. At least it was with the final product. Then again, they had to replace the whole keyboard, trackpad, top cover thing. That’s another $140 and they didn’t even ask for permission, but what the fuck. Worst $400+ mistake ever made, but what the hell, it’s over and it will NOT happen again. This was a fuckin’ horrible experience.
I run to take the bus to 23rd. I then go all the way west to Tekserve. I grab a ticket and pay for the top cover. Then I decide that I need to get to my 6:20 class. It’s 6:10 and I need to get from 23rd and 6th to 4th and Broadway. That’s quite a while, but it only takes me 20 minutes getting there. I speed walk like a crazy person with people giving me weird looks, but at least I get to class only 10 minutes late, but sweaty as a fat man.
After class, it’s nice to go home and have my laptop. At night, I go with Evan to Karthik’s apartment and we watch South Park. We both take mad shots of tequila and I get a bit buzzed/drunk and then walk back with Evan pretty early.

October 8, 2009
I wake up and run over to Spanish class while eating two rice cakes. During Spanish, I make sure that I participate with ask some awesome questions. A lot of my classes are something like 20% attendance and participation. Think of it this way, “raise your hand, get +1 bonus points on your next test (even if you’re wrong), maybe another point if you get something right or say something very smart.” The math actually works pretty well like that.
I get back home and catch up with Corinne. Apparently she forgot my birthday and was really disappointed that she did so and that I didn’t mention it. Apparently she’s free next weekend and will drop by New York. Gonna be awesome.
I then go to the supermarket. Six pack of Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale. Some rice cakes for breakfast. Some Wheat Thins and hummus. Baby carrots. Chicken breast and other ingredients for my cooking. Some diet soda for my drinking.
I get home and have a beer while cooking. Cook some brown rice. Dice up chicken breast and season with salt, pepper, spicy seasoning, and Szechuan hot pepper sauce. Cook that over oil. Remove chicken. Then cook garlic and mirepoix (French for onion, celery, and carrots) with some oil. It deglazes the pot really well of the seasoning and chicken remnants. After cooking that a bit, then add spinach. Throw in chicken. It turns out a bit too spicy, but I water a bit down. It’ll stay for a week. Good stuff. Brown rice, veg, and low fat chicken breast (shit literally has no fat). Done deal.
After slacking off a bit, I go to class. Afterwards, I go to the warehouse liquor story near NYU and grab a plastic handle of whiskey. At night, I sit around writing the blog and random stuff. I find out from Candace that they’re hanging out in Time Square at a bar. At 11:00ish, I head out to there. I get there and Chris Q, Candace, Theresa, and some others are there. It’s $6 beers there, which sucks. I only have 2. I end up singing It’s Not Unusual by Tom Jones. There’s singing, hanging out, and just good times. They try to get me to do the Single Ladies again, but I’m not drunk enough for that and I half ass it.
People are pretty darn drunk and we walk over to the 53rd and 6th Halal cart. It’s the “best” halal in the city. We hang out there sitting around for too long, while Candace had a bit too much and I hang with Theresa for most of the night. I end up getting by 4:00ish, not before shooting a call over to Bolanos and buying a 99 cent Arizona from the store.

October 9, 2009
I wake up to immediately walk over to this Thai place near me. It’s recommended from Yelp and I’m so hungry because I didn’t eat before I went to sleep last night. I get a lot of work done so that my weekend won’t be as bad. I don’t really do much for the day other than sitting at the computer and stuff.
At night, Josh and Jonah had dinner and whatnot and I end up meeting with them late. We go to Superdive, one of my new fav places for its college town atmosphere. We hang there for a bit until Josh says he wants to go and we leave. It’s a pretty chill night and fun to get out at least.

October 10, 2009
I nerd it up during the day and make a bit of money out of it.
Scott’s supposed to be coming into the city today. I try to coordinate things with Evan, but they go there immediately after pregaming at Evan’s and I have to go myself and meet them there.
I guess it’s not too bad because I pregame on Stickam and hang with Ela. We’ve been speaking a decent amount these days. Pregaming with some fun pop music, it’s good.
It’s a real bitch to get there because it’s in Chelsea on the West Side. This place better be darn with it because I have to take the 6 train down and then the L going west. It’s really annoying to find and it’s actually “in” a parking garage. I get there and turns out that Alon and Avi are in too. Wow, that’s pretty cool. Kerri and Jonah are there. Evan is darn drunk already. The place is pretty empty and I’m not really sure why we went all the way to the west side for this.
It’s on the water, but still, we’re the only ones outside. And it’s a bit chilly. And it’s empty there pretty much with no people or even ladies. It’s a weird system to get a beer and I need to use Scott’s paper thing to get a beer. I pregamed pretty well so I get darn drunk. We end up leaving because Avi says that we should go to Pomme Frites, that’s a good idea. That place sucked and I don’t know why we went all the way out there for that BS. It’s so annoying taking so many trains, so we take a cab. With four people, it’s def worth it. It saves so much time and turns out to cost cheaper than the MTA a lot of the time.
We get out there and then see that the line is so ridiculous there. I bring Avi over to Crif Dogs because he’s never been there. The other guys find their own food or something. I mention PDT, which I still really want to go to. Avi needs to use the bathroom and we actually walk into this really awesome restaurant. Turns out that it’s called the Yaffa Café. Awesome décor.
We meet up with the guys and stand around for a bit. Then we part ways because they have to go back to Great Neck and catch that 3:19. I hang out with Jonah while he grabs some Crif Dogs. I’m a super good boy and don’t eat any of that late night food. This diet thing is sick yo. I’m killing this shit. I get back home, drink loads of water, and go to sleep by 4-5:00.

Wednesday 7 October 2009

Day 10

October 6, 2009
Even after sleeping at 12:15, I didn't sleep well and feel pretty out of it. Spanish class is the usual boring meh. After class, I call Tekserve and he speaks to the guy and says that the technician is still working on my laptop. I find out that the guy gets off at 6 so I should really call before that to at least get an update how things are going. The guy on the phone did recognize that this is taking especially longer. I'm not letting the guy not speak to me today and waiting another day while he gets to work on it tomorrow.
I get a flatbread sandwich at Subway and then go the library. The flatbread is actually pretty good and I think I would prefer getting that over their other six inch hero breads. Instead of taking out a laptop and dealing with finding somewhere to use it and such, I just use one of the computer lab desktops. There's someone else waiting for it and I stand behind her. Then, a guy just random slips in and takes a computer immediately as someone is speaking. Right before he sits down, he sees me. From across the room, I give him the dirtiest stare I've ever given. This is a tired, not in a good mood day and I don't need this fuckin' shit man. I look like I'm going to stab his heart out and then eat his babies. He's quickly done and gives me a motion to "Go ahead, my bad bro."
I then go to my Democratic Theory class. During the break, I get one of those really big Red Bulls, but obvs the no sugar one. I also realize that I probably should participate more. People do talk about really stupid stuff and it again is free points that I'm not picking up on. After the class, I run into Evan and we walk over the our next classes, which is in the same building. We have a speaker in for my Constitution and Minorities class. Basically this guy was a green card holder and commited a drug crime. He tried to submit for citizenship while in jail, but there were complications. In 1996, a law is passed that immigrants, even if they are documented, that have been charged with certain crimes are allowed to have mandatory deportation with court hearing. It's a bit of a sob story because they guy has been here for decades, has an American citizen wife, and four American citizen children born here and that he might be deported on Friday because he has ran out of options and his mandatory deportation should still be going through.
Immediately after my class, I call Tekserve. I finally get an update from the representative while the technician has left for the day. After a week and a half, the guy has open my computer, clean off the parts, and now they're set up to be put into the dryer. So after they're dried, then the computer will be tested. So after all this time, I still don't know if I need replacement parts. I really hope I don't because that will take even looongger to fix. I hope to find somewhere else that can do that. Their customer service is bad and they give attitude. I also read from reviews that they overchrage for their parts and replacing them. They're testing my fuckin' nerves over here. After getting off from the phone with them and giving them a shit attitude back, I go to the library to write them a mean letter.
I still have an hour to hang out in the library here until my ACLU meeting at 8:00. I can't wait for it because I'm really starved and can't wait for that Thai food that's planned to be ordered. Awesomes! Ugh, afterwards though, I guess I'm going back to the library. Another day, another night of this shit.
The meeting isn't bad. Not too many people show up and we watch a video on your constitutional rights when dealing with the police. It's actually really informative and I really suggest you people watch it. It can be corny at time, but it really gives you knowledge on how not to get caught for stuff when you really can avoid because the police are intruding on your rights.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDJrQBwJpqk
The meeting also has pad thai and other really greasy Thai food. I was good today with an apple and a subway sandwich, which is under 500 calories. However, I'm treating myself for dinner at least.
After the meeting, I decide to call it a day and immediately go back. I get some cleaning done and work on some Spanish before calling it a night. Even though I stay up watching TV until 2:30... I guess the Military channel and Food Network are too interesting for me.

Monday 5 October 2009

Day 8+9

October 4, 2009
I call Tekserve in the morning. It turns out that the technician working on my computer doesn't work weekends. They didn't tell me that during the week when I called. I guess I'll have to wait another day to get an answer or even an update on my laptop. Jeez, that's another day.
I have some leftover hummus for breakfast and go to the library. It's really crowded because people want to work on Sundays. I hang around there all day and get a little bit of work done. I try to catch the bus, but it's running at 9:00 and it's 8:30 so I decide to walk back.
On the way back, I hope to find something open. Unfortunately, Baoguette and Latin Thing are closed. Even Subway. I'm stuck with going to Popeye's Chicken. Instead of getting some greasy ass chicken, I go for their chicken "rice bowl," which seems somewhat healthy. I bring it back home to find out that it's actually an unnoticeable amount of rice, some chicken, and a lot of glop smothered all over. I can only assume that it's cheese dip and goopy mashed potato. How appealing. Whatever, I'm starving so I eat it and it's actually really filling.
I talk on the phone with Katie and then catch up with Corinne. Watch some more homework and get a week ahead on my Spanish homework because there's nothing else to do. While watching some Mad Men, I get my work out done. Probably not the best idea to being working out at 11:00PM, but I get my five sets of pushups, four sets of curls, and three sets of situps out of the way.

October 5, 2009
I wake up at 9:45 after barely sleeping all night. Don't know why, but it's a bit rough. I grab my salad for lunch, my apple for the walk to the bus, and the water. During my Spanish class, I get way sleepy and want to go home and sleep. I run into Evan and we chat for a bit. I call Tekserve and don't get an answer from them. Then again, it's only 12:00ish and hopefully they will end up calling me later. I walk over to Au Bou Pan and realize that they're pretty much a rip off and why don't I go over to the deli and get some decent dized gourmet sandwiches for the same price.
However, I'm super tired and hungry from only having an apple so I decide to bump it up and go to Subway for a $5 foot long. I get their new buffalo chicken. I only have half. I can't imagine eating that whole thing without being in pain from stuffing myself. That's a good snack/semi-dinner for later. I go to the library and take out a Macbook. After a while, I start crashing and want to go back to take a nap. Even though I have ample time before my 6:20 class, the hassle just isn't worth it. With waiting for the bus and the ride back, it takes almost 30 minutes each way. That's an hour of traveling and wasted time and I decide to fight through it. This shows another way that the lack of laptop is screwing me up. Usually I would be home and have food in the house to eat, then nap, then homework and class.
Now, it's completely out of wack. Can't sit here complaining all day though and not be productive. Gotta make lemonade outta lemons. Gotta make the most of the resources that you have. Katie gives me a call in the middle of the day. I'll probably have to go down soon to renew this Macbook because there's a three hour limit on taking them out. I'll hopefully get some reading done and then make it to my Constitution class. I'll be mad tired after that and still in the library though...
After getting my Constitution reading done for week, which involves Googling about 10+ cases and reading their summaries on Oyez and Wikipedia. I write notes for them too because this way I don't just forget what I read and I actually have something physical. Also, Google Docs is a life saver by being my pseudo external while I shift between the Macbooks that I use throughout the day. They probably recognize me by now because I take out 2-3 laptops throughout the day.
My Constitution class is good as usual and goes through really high level stuff. I'm constantly surprised by the amount of extremely advanced and smart individuals in the class that can answer the complex high level questions he dishes out.
After class, I immediately call Tekserve hoping that I can get my computer back already or at least have an answer. I end up getting "Oh the guy left." So basically I was expecting some kind of news today and they put a notice into him twice for them to contact me. None of that.
The guy put in another notice and hopefully I will get a call tomorrow. Sucks that I'll be busy in class most of the day, but as long as I hear back with some decent news, otherwise I'm writing a mean ass letter. I was supposed to hear something last Wednesday or Thursday. And what kind of dumb system works so that only one technician works on it so that it can be ignored for an entire weekend because he doesn't work during weekends? How stupid.
Anyway, I go to the library pretty dejected. I guess it's a mix of me being tired, hungry, and it being night. It's pitch black and I'm still walking into the library. Sigh. I finish the rest of my buffalo chicken Subway sandwich with some Baked Lays. I actually look it up and find out that the $5 foot long I got is 780 calories and that probably doesn't include the light dressing I got on there. Granted, that's my lunch and dinner, but I did snack a bit today. I had a salad, though the only calories were the light dressing and Weight Watchers cheese. I did have a few Wheat Thin crackers, which aren't bad. With my apple for breakfast, I guess I'm staying pretty much on track for the DailyPlate recommendation says that I should be eating 1,355 calories a day if I want to lose 1.5 lbs a week. I still have probably over five more pounds to go so I want to hope to drop it down less calories than that with more exercise to get some real action going.
Anyway, I'm darn exhausted and really should go home to get some sleep or something. I know I want to do LSAT work when I get back, but my brain is so fried and tired.

Saturday 3 October 2009

Day 6+7

October 2, 2009
Last night, I had a few drinks because shit gets super boring without the computer. TV only gets you so far. In the afternoon, I go to my mom's office in Midtown. On the way, I go to Latin Thing and get a roast pork sandwich with the works. It's so good. At my mom's, I pick up my new license without the "Under 21" and a card that Nikki sent to me through the mail. She mentions that I smell of alcohol. Sam mentioned that yesterday and today my mom. I'm such a classy guy.
I sit around on campus for a while and then go back at night. The usual routine. I've been in the library way too much these days. Katie's going up to visit her family so we speak on the phone while she's driving up.
At night, I crack into my tequila and have some of that with Lo Carb Monster. I meet up with Josh and Jonah at Cheap Shots. I guess I should've been eaten something before going out. I get super trashed with the few beers that I have at the bar. I'm a fuckin' mess trying to get back and Jonah and Josh help me walk back. I end up falling on a storm drain and getting a bit wet. When I get back, I lay down on my air bed, which is literally 6 inches off the ground. Somehow in my drunken mess, I roll onto the ground and break my glasses frames. Meh, I'll be stuck with my geekyass old glasses for those who remember those.

October 3, 2009
Shit is such a mess. I wake up feeling like crap. My lip is swollen as if someone had punched me real bad. I don't even know where I get the wound. I guess it might've been when I fell onto the storm drain or fell over in the apartment. Shit's so rough. I'm sick and hungover as balls. Drunkeness caused by laptop water spill. I broke my frames because of it. My lip is swollen and huge because of it. I really need to slow down.
I get a huge burrito at Latin Thing and go to campus. I sit around being unproductive because it's just one of those days. I spoke to Tekserve and they still are working on stuff. Luckily, I find the same frames on eBay from the same seller and they only cost $11 with shipping. Good thing the lenses are fine and I'll just have to have the lenses swapped out for the new frames.
Anyway, I'm just sitting around on campus feeling so hungover and tired that it's ridiculous. I don't know what I'll be doing tonight. I really hope I get a call tomorrow to pick up the laptop without the need to replace parts. Week of my 21st and shit this week has been bad.
At night, I decide to slow things down and not have a night of drinking. Bolanos is in AC makin' some monies. The hangover is still bothering me so I have two drinks of tequila and it smooths the edge off.
By 12:00, I meet up with Jonah to grab a bite. We go to Momofuku Noodle Bar. It's a pretty good late night snack. Afterwards, we walk around and he tells me about Superdive, which is an interesting place. It's a bar that is as close as you can get to a college frat party in New York City. We hang there for a beer. We then go walk around the East Village and Jonah stops for a taco.
It has a lot of people waiting on line and a drunken girl slurs about the line asking, "Does this place at falafel?!" Surely the line of the night. We part ways shortly after that.
I get home by 3:30 and go to sleep.

Thursday 1 October 2009

Day 5

October 1, 2009
I wake up before 10:00. I shower and grab two rice cakes, then off to the bus. At Spanish, it turns out that I get an 85 on my Spanish test. Turns out that the average was 84. Fuck that shit yo. All the stupid class does is drop my GPA. It can go fuck itself.
After my class, I meet up with Evan and Josh to go to Baoguette for lunch. The sticky rice with chicken breast and Chinese sausage is so good. Yelped that. Then, we walk over to Papyrus to help Evan look for his card for Sam for their One Year Anniversary. Congrats to them.
We meet up with Sam, who's on campus. She asks if anyone drank because someone smells like alcohol. That's me from last night dammit. Nice nice. She talks about how she'll be really disappointed if she doesn't get the card that she noticed at Papyrus. Lol, that's only to set up disappointment. Later that day Facebook, it turns out Evan didn't get the one that she wanted. She links it to me. Evan and I noticed it, but we didn't like it. I think she definitely got one of the best ones. I got a good eye for that shit yo.
I sit around on campus for a bit and then go to my Constitution and Minorities class. It's a bit boring and I'm tired/hung over from last night. It's my last class for the week and it would nice to go immediately home. I call Tekserve and they said they're still working on it. I won't find out any news or if they need to replace parts until Friday or Saturday. Damn, that's bullshit. I was supposed to find out news yesterday or today.
So now I'm hanging in the library until I need to go home. Maybe for some dinner. Maybe to crack some of that loads of liquor that I got. I gotta get this laptop back soon. This weekend is going to be super killer already. I'll have to wake up and immediately run onto campus, which is just silly. Meh, at least less people will be in the library then. This shit is so messing up my flow. Hate it.

Day 4

September 30, 2009
My mom wakes me up at 9:30 to say Happy Birthday, but I go back to sleep until 12:30. I get up and immediately go to the supermarket to get something to drink. I get a pint of 8.5% alcohol beer. Without breakfast, I finish that pretty quickly until my 3:30 meeting for the ACLU meeting to speak about some random stuff. I was pretty drunk earlier for the bus ride down to campus, but I'm only buzzed by the meeting. After the meeting, I go to the deli to get a pesto chicken, roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes, and Swiss on a kaiser roll. It's pretty filling, but I should definitely eat something before going to Cheap Shots tonight. I still have a 6:20 class. I'll probably go to home right after that, grab a bite, and then shoot over to Cheap Shots because it's free days for the birthday boy.
Birthday time is pretty awesome. Vanessa got me a loads of liquor. Evan pushes me to keep drinking at Cheap Shots. After 15 minutes, I go through a whiskey shot, a Yuengling, a McSorely's Pale Ale, and four shots of rum. Throughout the night, I go through four more drinks.
Josh, Candace, her sister Kimberly, and Jonah show up too. It gets blurry at around 8-9 drinks. We go to Momofuku Milk Bar at one point and I remember trying some cake. Vanessa gives me a ride back, which is nice instead of having to stumble home.
I don't actually remember what time I got back and actually throw up a little bit and then pass out for class tomorrow.

Tuesday 29 September 2009

Day 3

September 29, 2009
I get up in the morning, show up to campus early, study a bit for my Spanish test, and take it. I leave super early because it's short. I look over it and I can't really tell how well I did. If I get some things wrong, it'll be a bit of a surprise and I'll be like, "What can I do?" It's when you understand stuff sufficiently and there's only so well that you can expect to do. If you end up getting this and that wrong, you just shrug and let it be.
After that, I go to Hummus Place for a really big platter of hummus and I'm actually left with leftovers because it's so big. My Democracy class isn't bad. We get out early, so I sit on the computer for a bit until my next class. It's the usual Constitution and Minorities class. I'm really surprised by the difference in how smart people are in this class compared to my other Constitution class. In that class, people are way too competent and he's going over extremely advanced things like substance due process, jurisprudences, incorporation, and more. In this class, people seem to have little grasp over Constitutional issues and just don't seem to know as much about politics in general.
It's around 6:00 by the end of the class and I get dinner with Evan at Rino Ceronte. Go read about it on dweez.yelp.com
We sit around at the library afterwards. He said he would go out at 12:00, but he has a 9:30 class tomorrow. I'll be planning to Cheap Shots it up with him and some others tomorrow.
I borrowed the Macbook from the library, but I can only keep it until 9:45 because that's when they close. I'll probably decide to go back home early or something because I don't really have anything to do. Maybe get some laundry done and workout. I haven't worked out for a few days now because I'm never home. Darn, this is getting annoying. I really need my laptop back this week. This weekend will NOT work if I don't get it back.

Day 2

September 28, 2009
I wake up at 10:00 to get to my Spanish class. For some reason, I'm in the mood to sing and get Love and Happiness-Al Green stuck in my head. After Spanish class, I'm still not optimistic about the Spanish test tomorrow. It's supposed to be the easiest of five and the professor said to get the highest score on this one so the other harder ones are averaged out. Also, the lowest score is dropped. Man, there is so much work that I'm doing for just this dumb class. It's another semester of doing more work in one class than all three of my politics classes added up. And still, I've gotten B in my last two semesters of Spanish and that simply drops my GPA. Fuckin' ridiculous.
After Spanish, I'm exhausted so I go back home. I make some lunch and then pass out like crazy. I sleep for 2-3 hours until 3:30 and decide to get onto campus. I borrow one of the Dell Latitudes because they're out of Macbooks. I get some work done and BS around for a bit until my Constitution class.
It's annoying not having my laptop for writing notes at ease and surfing around. The class is really interesting at least and it goes by okay. I'm surprised by how complicated the stuff he's teaching. Granted, I've basically "taught" myself this information with reading and looking further into issues that my previous classes brought up. I'll be looking forward to what else he'll be getting into.
Afterwards, I go to dinner with Evan and his friend. We go to the dining hall and Evan gives me a swipe for it. I get a chicken quesadilla with salsa. After that, I go to library to study for Spanish and hang out until night and I have to go back and sleep.

Day 1

September 27, 2009
Well I've been here for almost 7 hours. I've been at this same spot basically. I got up once to get a soda, then to make a call, then to eat a salad, and the bathroom, but that's about it. This chair actually is darn comfy. This is different from last year that I had to do this because instead of a quick 8 minute walk home, now I have to rely on the NYU bus. I really hope that 11:46 bus comes because I really don't want to walk the 24 blocks at this time of the night. Living like this is pretty weird, but at least I'm getting work done. I have loads more work ahead of me, but at least I'm getting stuff done that I need a computer for and then I can do the rest when I get back, sans computer.
Tomorrow will be a similar routine, but I'll try to rent out a laptop instead. Class at 11:00, lunch, stay in library, class at 6:20, stay in library, head home at 11:46 again... I at least hope that they'll be quick about the laptop and surprise me by calling sooner than Wednesday/Thursday. I also realllly hope that there's no need to replace parts. Not only is that expensive, but it also takes time for the parts to come in. I don't know if I can do many days of this. I mean, it wasn't too much water and tried to dry it really quickly. Too bad there wasn't a hair dryer, otherwise I would've tried to use that to dry it. Ugh, warning for all of you, never do that to your laptop. The hassle I'm going through is ballsss. This is going to be weird for me, living homeless almost in a library. Keep reading, I'll keep you guys posted with how it goes. Hm... Wonder what I'll be eating tomorrow for lunch and dinner now that I'm not going to be home ever.

Big Life Change

September 27, 2009
Uh wow, so where do I start? I can talk about last night, but I'll get to that later. The important news is that in a drunken stupor last night, I accidentally spilled water all over my computer. Why was I drinking a large liter cup of water at 3:30AM you ask? Because that's my routine. I drink two liters of water every night after a long night of drinking. It's the best way to make sure that you don't have the hangover the next day. Well, at least not a really bad hangover. You'll still be trapped with dry mouth and the usual symptoms of a hangover usually.
Anyway, back to the story. So immediately after I spill the water, the computer shuts off and won't turn back on. I want to open up the computer and see what I can do so I grab a really thin sharp knife and try to unscrew the computer to open it up. Drunk and using a really sharp knife as a screwdriver while a laptop is held between your thighs? Don't try this at home, you have a professional here. This goes on for a really long time until I realize that I actually have the specific screwdriver for this. I upgraded my RAM last year and had to buy one. I'm just really stupid that I forgot that I had it in the apartment. I try to open the laptop, but give up after a while. I put the laptop away upside down and hope for the best in the morning. I wake up at 11:00 and try again. Grab laptop. Put the finger on the "On" button... Pray... Please please work. The atheist is screaming for God to grant him one thing. And... Nope, nothing. A huge disappointment. The laptop refuses to respond. Now I'm ready to breakdown and cry. What the hell do I do now?
Actually, you people might think I'm being a dramatic, but you just don't know me then. Last year, the other apartment I was staying at did not have Internet or any wireless connections to leech off of. Time Warner took a week to come and install cable. Instead of sitting around in the apartment with nothing to do, I decided to basically live in the NYU Library. I took my laptop, a mouse, headphones, my external hard drive, found a table, and dug in for hours and hours. I would wake up, shower, go to class, get lunch, sit in the library until 2:00AM until I walked home to sleep. Call me a loser. Call me what you will. I'm home at the computer for almost every second of my life if I'm not out hanging out, sleeping, or at class. Yes, eating is done at the computer. TV viewing is done on the computer. Everything.
If you're curious about Bobst Library, I was basically seated at one of these tables. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_aqJb-yMBL_w/Roget67y33I/AAAAAAAAAfc/jilcqcbL_ro/IMG_5120.JPG
So now I hope you can understand what that does to me now. I have to man up and fix this. I call Apple and speak to a representative from India. After much wasted time, I get the three Apple Stores' numbers, which I already had. I called Katie earlier and asked her for the numbers. I find out that I won't get helped by Apple until Tuesday or Wednesday. The guy on the phone suggests TekServe. It's an Apple repair/products store that's independent of Apple. It's actually about 10 blocks away from me so I go there hoping the best. I speak to Jon and Josh on the way there to get some input and advice since they both worked at the Apple Store before.
I get to deal with a representative after a bit of a wait. The final verdict is that it costs $270 for them to open it up and clean it out. I would've done that my I messed up one of the screws and could not get it out. I guess they'll have to deal with that. This also does not include the possibility that they might have to replace certain parts and have to pay for that too. A technician can't look at it until Wednesday or Thursday. So now I just have to hope for the best that it'll be just a simple cleaning without replacement parts, suck it up, and live a few days without my trust Macbook.
Now I'm in the regroup mood. I have to do the best that I can with my life now. I get to the apartment and decide that I will again be living in the library. I'll have to use one of the computers in My schedule was on the computer, so I write down what I have to do for classes and everything. I make myself a salad so I have a dinner in the library. I gather my notes, papers, and books. I even bring along my iPod cord so I can charge it on their computers.
I call Bolanos and catch up with him. He reminds me that I had a 27 minute call with him last night. I don't really know what he's talking about until he reminds me that I shouted at some girls last night. We will continue with last night soon, but boy does that mean I was messed up if I barely remember that call. I speak to Jonah that reminds me of an Indian place that I've been planning to try out for a while. I haven't eaten since I woke up beacuse of this bullshit business. I catch up with Aaron while I take the NYU bus to campus. I walk over to the Indian place, Aamchi Pao. On the way, I tell Atron about my diet that's been going really well. Dropping the pounds. I speak super loud with my New York accent to just piss people off. It's so good. Read about the experience on my review. I'm a Yelp Elite bitches! dweez.yelp.com
Then I go to the library, find a computer, and here I am. I found a computer and decided that I really needed to get this situation down on "paper" for your entertainment. I also see that the library lends out laptops. You have to stay in the library with it and has to be renewed or returned every 3 hours, but it can be better than a desktop. We'll see how that works out. My 21st Birthday is in 3 days. This will be quite an experience for me. It's almost like an experiment with my life. I'm planning to be super productive because I won't be chillin' at home. Wish me luck kids.
Xoxo, Darwin

September 26, 2009
So I didn't go out Thursday or Friday nights. I nerded it up during the day. At night, the plan is to go to Stout. I show up and immediately sign up for a song with Candace. We do Pokerface, which was meh. I pregamed so I wouldn't have to buy too many overpriced beers at Stout. Kerri, Jonah, and Chris Q are there too. When Single Ladies is up, people jump under the spotlight. I'm pretty drunk so I do the same and show off the few moves that I know of the Single Ladies dance. That really should've been recorded for YouTube. Even the DJ complimented by dancing. Fuck yea. We leave before I can do another song. Darn, I was looking forward to My Sharona (one of my favorite songs) and Ace of Base-The Sign.
On the walk back, I give Bolanos a call that I'm reminded of the next day. Apparently I was a mess and said "Fuck You" a bunch of times to him for no reason. I also remember stupid and saying "Hey ladies!" in a creepy voice to two girls that I walk by. I hang on the computer drinking water... You know what happened next...
