May 14, 2008

Hasan randomly calls me around 2:00 and decides that he wants to hang. Spamps jumps along for the ride and it turns out that Miah still isn’t in because of his essay. Spamps spoke to him and he has had one of the greatest lines ever, “I’m losing interest in it.”

I don’t know about you guys, but school isn’t something that really necessitates interest. Granted, that’s why we choose majors and such, but most classes really aren’t interesting. Also, tests and papers have nothing to do with preference. They are simply part of a class, like how taking showers is part of life.

You can’t “lose interest” in taking showers. The same goes for writing a final paper that you didn’t finish while school was in session and you were lucky enough to get an extension into the break. Fucking hell.

Anyway, we go to DnD and chill in the car for a long while. Fun times catching up. Turns out that Spamps is going for an internship for a semester next Spring in LA. I mention how it can be a “Darwin in Prague” Part 2 with “Spamps in LA.” I recommend him writing a blog about it.

Hasan and Spamps seem to have the view that it was stupid and useless. Then again, these men aren’t story tellers like me. I pride myself on story telling and it’s one of the finest parts of conversation, though gossip is sometimes up there.

Spamps says that all stories should simply be remembered and that’s it. I tell him that this allows you to forget a lot and especially all the important details that make a fine story. Whatever, he can lose out on the fine memories he may have if he doesn’t keep a blog going.

We then go to the H Mart, which is finally built next to Starbucks. We walk through it and talk about the possibilities if we want to do a BBQ during the summer. Spamps is then dropped off while Hasan and I go to the Port Washington BBQ place for dinner.

We then pick up Spamps. Miah is still missing. We decide to go to Astoria because we have nothing to do. We hang out there for a while playing Scrabble and end up leaving the earliest ever, 11:20 or so because we decided to go so early and did everything so early.

I go to the new “In n Out” or whatever thing that is new at Middle Neck and Northern. The place is crazy. A 2 liter fountain drink is .99! Every single cup is the same price. They also have my staple of $2 for 2 hot dogs from 7/11. I grab all that and we hang around for a while.

Things die down so Hasan drops us off at 1:00.
