I go with Evan to grab some food. We go to the big liquor store near NYU where he gets me two handles because they’re so cheap. I get one that’s cherry Georgi, which turns out to be disgusting.
I find out that Evan’s busy and doesn’t want to go to the bar party and we’re invited too. Derrick, who was Gianfranco’s friend that visited Prague, is having a shindig. I was invited through Facebook. I’m gonna be seeing lots of people that I haven’t seen in a while like Gianfranco.
I get there past 12:00, the thing starts at 11:00. There’s a lot of drifting around for me. I say Hi to a lot of people, but it’s mostly short convos and awkwardly floating around. Gianfranco eventually comes and I take a shot with him. Someone else buys me a shot and I buy two beers through the night. By the end of the night, I’m pretty shitfaced.
In the end, it’s really great seeing people again, but I don’t feel I established links well enough, so I’m not really optimistic that I might be seeing these people again or hanging out with them. It’s quite a hit to be seeing all the people from Prague.
I end up leaving by 2:20 and get KFC on the walk back. Hopefully tomorrow is fun.

It was a slow weekend since no one was around. Didn’t really do anything, though a lot of time on Stickam speaking to Nikki, who again I’ve been speaking to more than anyone else I know.
At least I’ve been reading about of a lot Constitutional Law stuff like the cases dealing with Guantanamo, free speech for class, and religion clauses for a paper.
I have an ALCU meeting, which is the second to last. I speak to some random people about the Politics classes and there’s just some food next time, that’s about it. Hopefully I’ll become better involved next semester.
I find out that I get into the NYU Law Shadowing program. I get to speak to a NYU Law (Top 5 law school in the country) student and attend one of his classes. It’s an amazing opportunity.
November 21, 2008
So it turns out that the first year Con. Law class that I get to go too is pretty cool. I spent hours before it reading Roe and Griswold. The professor is a great lecturer. Doesn’t stumble when speaking, prepared, and quick. I don’t know if that’s a good thing, but I like fast speakers.
The class actually turns out to be a lot like my Civil Liberties class. She gives a lecture on the thinking of the Court when deciding the case and allows people to give their opinions. From their opinions and how many people are taking notes/paying attention, it seems that I would really hold my own if I was in that class. Then again, I can’t really dig on them because they got into the school, something that I will not be doing…
Anyway speaking about that, I’ve had a great fire this semester of reading cases along with what my class asks for. Here’s some stuff that I’ve just spent hours and hours reading. And listening through podcasts.
Free Exercise Clause
Establishment Clause
Eminent Domain
Free Speech
Incorporation
Administrative law, Chevron deference, legislative veto
Lochner era, striking down of it
Substantive due process, Roe, Griswold, Carhart
Gitmo cases, Boumedeine, Rasul, Hamdi, Hamdan (watching ALCU movie)
Campain Reform/Spending
4th Amendment, exclusionary rule
Judicial jurisprudence
Evan said earlier that we should be doing stuff tonight. Lets see if that happens.
We end up going to the bar near us. We know the bartender and he makes up a deal of two Miller High Life for $5. I take that while Evan goes four gin and tonics deep. We then take a cab to Still, a popular NYU place. The place is poppin’ and loaded with people.
I get another beer since I’m taking it not too harshly. However, Evan gets two gin and tonics. I try to get him to work the shit and he actually shmoozes it up a bit with a really cute asian girl. However, he doesn’t follow it up and he loses her to another guy. I try to get him to wing with me otherwise, but that doesn’t work out since he ends up superdrunk. We go to Karthik’s place, stand around for a bit, he’s drunk, we leave, we get food, take a cab back, and end of night.
Although the game wasn’t thrown down hard, we were out and Evan finally got drunk. A great night in context.

Lots of people want to go to Dino, but there are issues. It’s an over an hour trip for me. It’s a long subway ride from 1st Ave to 131st. There’s also walking. They also don’t have ressies, so what’s that! I don’t really trust the fact that they might not get in or it will be an hour wait or something.
Turns out that they do get in, but they don’t do anything for the night, what a good plan for the night….
At 2:30ish, I go to this place I found on Sunny and Annie’s from Yelp. This is the review I wrote.
I just walked back from Sunny and Annie’s. It’s by far the best I’ve had in the East Village. I walk in and ask for the Monalisa. The guy throws in a breaded chicken cutlet in the microwave. The Korean guy that runs the place shouts at the people in the bathroom that they shouldn’t be using it and how he spent $700 in fixing it.
The guy flattened my roll and I’m confused why he’s doing it. It’s toasted. Then loads of roasted peppers are thrown on. Then at least 4-5 leaves of fresh basil. Then multiple slices of fresh mozzarella. If you guys care of about food, yes, FRESH mozzarella is put on. Then a load of balsamic. Then on with the cutlet. It costs $5.50.
I walk away eating it and I might’ve ejaculated in my pants. The sandwich is so big that it makes sense that the roll was flattened. After eating it, I realized in my bag that there’s a pickle in aluminum foil. A nice finishing to the best sandwich I’ve had. Go there, it’s so good.

The day is slow. I do a Psych study that is really boring and annoying. I just stare a boring screen and get shocked. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s annoying to sit there still for 30 minutes. So annoying.
Anyway, Stickam update.
I’ve been speaking to Corinne actually a lot. She calls me during her work breaks and we speak on AIM a lot during the weekend. She’s been recently going live, so I spend a lot of time there. She’s apparently coming to NYC in January.
It’s strange that so many people have disappeared off of Stickam. Then again, I guess people have lives.
December 5, 2008
It’s Boris’ birthday and I start drinking at night. We only go out at 12:00. Before that, I go to the Russain liquor store to pick up a bottle of JD because Evan thinks we should get a gift for him.
It’s at an apartment very close to us. It’s a pretty busy party, but Boris leave immediately and we go outside to stand around with Karthik, who’s pretty drunk. We stand around like idiots for a while and I tell Evan, we gotta move and do something. We have to either go back into the party or follow people who are leaving for a bar. Instead, we stand around for a while and try following the people.
We end up losing them and it turns to be a cock fest of a few drunk doods. Karthik’s drunk and wanders off. The other doods end up losing themselves or whatever. A waste of a party.
December 12, 2008
I’m invited on Facebook to this bar thing because Jenn, one of the girls I knew from Prague is moving back to LA. This again is like the thing I was invited too with Derek and Gianfranco. It’s going to be Prague people that I haven’t seen or talked to, but what am I going to do? Stay in and be a weirdo instead of going out and try to feel shit out?
Evan and I go to Five Guys for a bit. While I only needed 1 handle, I forgot to tell him. He got me two and there’s only 1 week of school left. Also, the night before, Brian was at Evan’s. He apparently also watches Pick Up and we have a paralleled conversation over it. It’s interesting because he’s used it to success and he’s also watch the episodes like me. We speak a lot about it and exchange ideas about it.
I pregame really hard and also find out that Evan isn’t coming with me. Socially anxiety is a killer and pregaming really hard does a good work on that. When I get there, I grab a beer. I see a lot of the peoples and they’re pretty darn nice to me. Charlotte is pretty and for some reason playing with my hair and stuff. Liz and I speak about Gossip Girl for a while. I hang with Allyse and her brother, Brendan for most of the night with his two cops friends. They joke that they have to get me more Irish and get a double shot of Jameson. I was already really shitfaced when I got there. The beer pushes me, the double shot really shoves me. I need a break and go outside for a “cig.” Instead, I’m super drunk and go over to the pizza and grab a drunk slice.
I get back and all inhibitions are dropped by then. They’ve ordered by another double shot and I take it. I’m so shitfaced that even the bartender notices by giving me a glass of water. That’s fuckin so embarrassing. We then go outside for a bit and the bouncer tells Brendan that I can’t go back in. I was planning to leave anyway because I was so drunk. I end up shamefully leaving and having to take someone’s number so I text when I get home safely.

The Duality of the Two Religion Clauses
In the history of the Supreme Court, it has constantly been faced with questions involving religion. The Free Exercise Clause and Establishment Clause of the First Amendment are guidelines set by the Constitution in dealing with religion, but the two often conflict with each other. The Court has been through the task balancing these rights and protections provided by the duality of these two clauses. There have been countless cases where the Court has dealt with these clauses, which has created an extensive history of jurisprudence. As the tension and duality of the clauses continues, the Court will continue to look for a proper balance to resolve this issue.
The two clauses in question are derived from the beginning of the First Amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The Establishment Clause comes from "no law respecting an establishment of religion" and the Free Exercise Clause comes from "prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
The Establishment Clause was incorporated onto the states through the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment in Everson v. Board of Education, (1947). Not only is this case groundbreaking for incorporation, but also the language and “wall of separation” used by Justice Hugo Black, who wrote the majority opinion. His broad interpretation of the Establishment Clause created a strict boundary where the state had to almost completely avoid all interaction with religion or church. The Free Exercise Clause was incorporated in Cantwell v. Connecticut (1940). This set precedent onto the states that people’s free exercise of religion was not to be intruded upon.
The dilemma that the Court is faced with is balancing between these two clauses. While the state must avoid supporting or establishing religion, it also must assure that those who are practicing their religion are able to do so without government intervention. Many cases are faced with this duality. An example of a case that demonstrates this is Braunfeld v. Brown, (1961), where the Court found that Pennsylvania’s Sunday closing law had “purpose and effect of which is to advance the State's secular goals, the statute is valid despite its indirect burden on religious observance.” The Court finds that Braunfeld and other Orthodox Jews face only an “indirect burden” because the law doesn’t purposely impede upon their religious exercise. The state has reasonable and secular goals with the banning of business on Sundays. Precedent for restriction of business by the state, very similar to the Pennsylvania’s law, can be found in McGowan v. Maryland, (1961). In addition, the Court invokes the point that Braunfeld’s desire to do business on Sunday is “conduct.”
The Court has separated the expression of religion into “conduct” and “belief.” Belief is simply the right to hold one’s ideas and feelings on religion. However, once that leaks into physical action, then it is to be considered conduct. Because the state may have interest in controlling outward expression, the Court has found that conduct has less protection than belief. This dichotomy is created in Reynolds v. United States, (1878). In its decision, the Court quotes Thomas Jefferson, “the legislative powers of the government reach actions only, and not opinions.” When Reynolds committed the crime of polygamy, his religious duty of doing so was not protected by the Free Exercise Clause because it was action and conduct, instead of an internal idea of belief. It is because of this difference between conduct and conscience that Braunfeld’s religious rights were not protected as simply believing in his religion, but his desire to be able to sell goods on Sundays. He was not faced with a direct burden by the state and therefore strict scrutiny would not be applied.
This issue of state accommodation of people’s religious conduct was better defined in Sherbert v. Verner, (1963) with the creation of the Sherbert Test. In this test, direct burden onto an individual must be shown. As for the state, it must show it has a “compelling state interest” and achieve that interest in a way that least interferes with a person’s beliefs. The state’s interest was to create a consistent way of giving benefits for those unemployed. Unlike Braunfeld, the Court found that she was directly burdened for not receiving benefits and her religious duty of not working on Saturdays was a belief. The state had unfairly decided that a “Sabbatarian must conform with the scruples of the majority in order to obtain unemployment benefits.” Because of direct burden and belief, the Court found that the state must be shape its interest to occupy Sherbert’s beliefs and allow her benefits.
Later, Employment Div. v. Smith, (1990) set back Sherbert’s permission of exemptions. Justice Scalia specified, “We have never invalidated any governmental action on the basis of the Sherbert test except the denial of unemployment compensation.” Because the state had an interest in prohibiting the use of drugs and the law was “valid and neutral law of general applicability,” there was no reason to give Smith an exception for peyote use. There is a slippery slope if such laws are curbed with exceptions. Statutes could be contradicted with a massive demand for exemptions for minimum wage laws, child neglect laws, animal cruelty laws, etc.
In response to this, Congress passed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which brought back the Sherbert Test and the use of strict scrutiny when investigating a state’s compelling interest. The act was overturned in City of Boerne v. Flores, (1997). This set the Court’s standard back to that of Smith, which found the Sherbert overstepping the protections provided in the Free Exercise Clause.
As for the Establishment Clause, Justice Hugo Black’s words in Everson v. Board of Education, (1947) have drawn a strict separation religion and the state. An example of this would be with schools and their use of prayer. The Court enforced Everson’s precedent, with Justice Black again writing the majority decision, and decided that the mere promotion of religion by a denominationally neutral and voluntary prayer is unconstitutional (Engel v. Vitale, 1962). To properly express a solid wall of separation, the Court created the Lemon Test (Lemon v. Kurtzman, 1971).
This precedent of removing religion from the schools has continued into more recent example’s of the Court jurisprudence towards the Establishment Clause, including banning student led prayer in Santa Fe Independent School Dist. v. Doe, (2000) and disallowing the teaching of creationism in Edwards v. Aguillard, (1987).
Between these two clauses, the Court has been put at the tedious task of allowing a free exercise of religion, while not allowing states to establish or recognize a specific religion, or any religions at all. The two clauses have been interpreted as conflicting interests that must be balanced. For the Establishment Clause, the Court’s jurisprudence has held relatively separationist since the wall of separation created in Everson. This consistency cannot be found with the Court’s history in dealing with the Free Exercise clause. The Court has allowed for some accommodation of religion with the Sherbert Test and compelling state interest, but it becomes overturned by Smith. This reveals a huge shift in the Court’s view on sympathizing for the interests of those who are burdened by the state.
The impacts of the Court’s decisions are widespread and affect many. Despite the Court’s attempt to enforce and protect the rights stated within the clauses, many remain dissatisfied. Those who desire religious exercise free from state intrusion are no longer allowed such exemptions (Employment Div. v. Smith, 1990). Schools that desire to reflect religious values of society onto students thorough prayer have constantly been rejected (Engel v. Vitale, 1962).
As the Court continues to assess the duality of the clauses, I feel there is a reasonable way to head towards an accepted view on interpreting and applying the clauses. First of all, the Court must reinterpret the Establishment Clause. I would agree with Justice Stewart’s words, “a refusal to permit religious exercises thus is seen, not as the realization of state neutrality, but rather as the establishment of a religion of secularism” (dissenting) (School Dist. of Abington Tp. v. Schempp, 1963). The “wall of separation” created in Justice Black in Everson has consistently conflicted with the interest of the state and education, which naturally involves religion because of society’s attachment to it. To completely separate the two creates a state of secularity, instead of avoiding establishment. In addition, dividing the two apart seems implausible. Justice Burger explains that the country’s history and current state includes religion such as, “In God We Trust” on US currency, the use of “under God” in the pledge, Congress’ recognition of religious holidays, etc. (Lynch v. Donnelly, 1984). Despite over fifty years precedent from Everson, it’s apparent that the state cannot completely remove itself from recognizing religion and to an extent, interacting with it. The government does involve itself with religion to an extent, yet it still has tried to represent a “wall” between the two.
In reinterpreting the Establishment Clause, reversing the incorporation of Everson would be a drastic move that would overturn decades of decisions and jurisprudence, although it was suggested by Justice Stewart in Schempp and Justice Thomas (concurrence) (Cutter v. Wilkinson, 2005). These two Justices interpret the Establishment Clause in an originalist sense, or as a provision of federalism that would inhibit federal establishment of religion over the states. However, with a long history of incorporation ever since Gitlow v. New York, (1925), it is hard to imagine the complete overturning of the precedence created in Everson. Instead, the Court must loosen its reins on religion and reject the flawed Lemon Test. It has had problems ever since its creation. It forced a Catch 22 by not allowing state funding possibly going towards religion in private schools, but also not allowing the state to check upon the schools if they were staying secular (Justice White concurring/dissent) (Lemon v. Kurtzman, 1971). Ever since its creation, the test has made it hard for the state to find a reasonable balance of interacting with religion. Also, the first prong of the Lemon Test, government action must have a secular purpose, improperly deals with law. As Justice Scalia finds, laws must be dealt with by their effect and not their intentions (concurrence) (Church of Lukumi Babalu Aye v. City of Hialeah, 1993). Despite its precedent, the Lemon Test must be modified without the first prong. Also, the second prong must be loosened to not completely reject religion from the state.
Another thing the Court way to settle the tension would be to remove taxpayer standing over Establishment Clause created in Flast v. Cohen, (1968). Recently, the Court has held the Commerce Clause of the Constitution is not a legitimate reason for a taxpayer to argue for burden by legislation before the Court (DaimlerChrysler Corp. v. Cuno, 2006). Despite Justice Scalia’s urge to rely on stare decisis, he realizes that Flast is not consistent with how the Court views standing because it makes an exception for the Establishment Clause by giving taxpayers standing and it should be overturned (Hein v. Freedom From Religion Foundation, 2007). Doing so would be a huge step in assuring that state action in dealing with religion is not consistently scrutinized, altered, or overruled by the Supreme Court. Despite these issues, the Supreme Court has come to what I feel is a logical and reasonable way to interpret the Free Exercise Clause in Smith. Creating exemptions for certain individuals only undermines legitimate and neutral laws.
The Supreme Court must not look at the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause as separate entities that cause a conflicting duality. They are to be utilized by the Court as a harmonious collective that prevents state establishment of religion burdening individuals and allowing people to freely exercise their religion from biased laws. It should apply judicial restraint unless people are coerced upon should the Court act appropriately. A decision like Santa Fe Independent School Dist. v. Doe, (2000) is an example of how the Court has overreached its power by not allowing students to voluntarily exercise their right of religion. To construe their conduct in school as an establishment is unfortunate. The Court must reinterpret its relationship with states and how far it has gone to not prevent establishment, but unduly extract religion from the public sphere.
The Supreme Court has gone through quite a history in dealing with religion and observing how it has balanced between the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause is extremely interesting. Its decisions have brought sweeping changes in how the government can associate with religion and people’s expression of it. Some of the Court’s jurisprudence has shifted ever since incorporation of the two Clauses in Everson and Cantwell, but hopefully the Court realizes a way to allow people to exercise their right in religion, but also allows states to act on its interests.

Weekends
November 7, 2008
November 17, 2008

Pickup Artist? SCOTUS?
November 2, 2008
I end up waking up and hanging on Stickam for a bit. Someone on Stickam I know is having a few drinks with her roommates, so I like, “What the fuck, lets have a few drinks too.” Notice, I haven’t eaten anything yet and I started the drank at 4:00ish.
I have a snack at 6:00ish and don’t eat anything real until 9:30. I speak to Corinne and Nikki for most of the night.
I watch three episodes of The Pickup Artist, which is an interesting reality show on VH1. It allows an expert pickup artist (picking up women), Mystery, and he finds a handful of geeky, socially inept guys in their 20s and teaches them to work it hard. Fuckin’ Mystery is a weird ass motherfucker. He needs to learn how to dress like a non-Goth, non-fag douche.
They start off really awkward, but they at least have the balls to try to make moves. They get a huge makeover and start getting lessons on shit.
False time constraint: Fake that you have to go somewhere like meeting up with friends, so that you put desire onto yourself.
Neg: A douchebag comment that is meant to make her feel she needs to qualify herself onto you.
IOI: Indicator of interest, showing interest.
Set: A group of 4 girls, a 4 set. Starting a set involves initiation and attempting to start conversation.
Fuckin’ just random vocab that this show has. A lot of it seems like common sense or over thought douchebaggery. However, it’s really rough watching some of the guys just shot down like horribly.
November 5, 2008
I don’t have class tomorrow until 6:20 because one of my classes is cancelled. I end up getting a 97 on my midterm on Administrative Law. A class that I hated, but I’ve gornw o to like it because it’s starting to move towards Supreme Court cases. I felt that the class was really disorganized, but I felt that I prepared well for the midterm and the class started making more sense.
Josh ends up coming past 8:00 to do stuff. We pregame at my place and then go out for food. We go to Crif Dogs, which is giving out free hotdogs and a drink because post-Election Day.
About that, you know I don’t like either candidate. Election Day was crazy and people were so loud and cars were honking all over. It felt like the end of WWII or something and the soldiers were coming back. Guess they saw it as the second coming of Christ… Sighs…
We then go to Bamn! and I get a bacon chesseburger against from the “vending” machine. It’s mighty good. It’s good hanging with Josh and getting some shitface going.
I’m drunk and bored, so end up spending 20 minutes reading the oral arguments over a case involving the FCC that is pending.
I also listen for over an hour of the oral arguments of Morse v. Frederick (Bong Hits 4 Jesus case). It’s weird that I’m spending so much time on this shit, but I guess it’s really good that I’ve found stuff on interest that I’m doing this, including reading about 8 cases a week for my Civil Liberties class.
November 6, 2008
I find out that I should have enough vodka for tonight, but I’m gonna have to reup on that shit tomorrow. I get my Civil Liberties midterm back. It get a fuckin’ B in my favorite class, probably one of my favorite classes I’ve ever taken. I feel that she grades the shit really rough, but whatever. I guess I’ll have to destroy the final and final paper, which I’m looking forward to.
I also apply to a cool program where if I get in, I get to shadow an NYU law student for a week and go to classes. I hope I get in, though they ask for a resume, and my shit is probably weak and ugly…

Halloween...
October 29, 2008
Stickam update:
Nikki, from Georgia, I met her at the beginning of the summer. She was off for the summer, but we’ve been speaking like everyday and texting this semester.
Corinne, from Boston, Wapanese girl. I knew her from the summer, but now we talk quite a bit.
Noki, another Wapanese too. She’s nice and we speak a lot too.
Evan and I go to Boris’ to watch South Park, which is alright. I smoke some blunt and bong there and get pretty high. On the walk back, grab a large Fries at McDonald’s. And yes, fucked up on a Wednesday night, that’s what we do.
October 30, 2008
Evan and I go to S’Mac for a 5:00 meal or something. It’s a place that only serves Mac N’ Cheese. We get the Cheeseburger one, which basically amazing Hamburger Helper with breadcrumbs baked on top. It’s really good. At night, Evan and I try to figure something to do. We end hanging out at his place and having Jameson. He doesn’t drink his, so I end up getting pretty lit. We listen to most of the Tracy Morgan interview from Howard Stern. Listen to it, greatest interviewee ever.
October 31, 2008
Halloween! Not planning to dress up, there are loads of parties. Evan and I are going to break it down and see what happens.
Turns out our big plans of going to this party at a bar are next week, so that ends up not working. Evan also finds out that some of the plans force costumes in order to show up, what BS. Evan shows up at my place with food because his roommate is using the room. My room is a fuckin’ disgusting mess and we speak to Bolanos on iChat while he’s waiting. Evan goes back to shower and Josh heads over to the city.
I head over to Evan’s past 10:30. After a quick drink, we go upstairs for Josh and Evan to smoke of the vape. There’s no problem that they’re smoking, but it ends up taking an hour before we move out to a party that Evan knows about. By then it’s heading towards 12:00. It’s a close walk, but we end up getting there and it’s pretty crowded. None of us are dressed up, which is “odd” in the Village, but fuck it. Some hot chick walks by Evan, while we’re heading up the stairs of the apartment and compliments his shirt, more reason for us to stay for the party. It’s pretty crowded, but after going up a couple flight of stairs and seeing lots of people, Evan and Josh decide that we must leave. If anything, there’s more of a reason to stay because it’s fuckin lots of people and at least see what it’s like, but nope and we leave.
Instead, we go to Tuck Shop. I end up getting a Shrimp Pie, which is probably their best pie (chunks of shrimp, baby portabella, red pepper flakes, and chives, don’t ask how I know all that). I suggest that it’s fuckin’ Halloween and we have to do something. You should’ve seen the pus (vagine) walking around. It’s warm and allows them bitches to dress they way they do.
Josh is worried about time because it’s 12:30 by now. Before 12:00 when we were heading to the party, it turned out that CNF is in the city with “friends” and was heading to a bar. I told him that we were heading the party and that we will call him back if it doesn’t work out. He’s also like 4 blocks away from us in the city, which is so fuckin’ close.
Did we know he was in the city and coordinate any plans with us earlier? You can guess the competency…
We call him and he doesn’t pick up. Josh left stuff at Evan’s place, so we go back there to pick it up. I push for doing something, but we don’t. Josh wants to get back at some time. I tell Evan that we can go out, but after sitting around, I could tell nothing is fuckin’ happening so I drink loads of Jameson.
I end up leaving Evan’s place before 2:00. I go back and realize I’m starving. I want to eat, so I end up walking deeper into the Village. I go to a place called Bamn! It’s really interesting.
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/104/285061536_5c57c07a5c.jpg?v=0
I walk in, ask for change from my $5 bill. Then go to the change machine, like an arcade, to get quarters and dollar coins. It’s Halloween and the place is packed so there’s only really a bacon cheeseburger for $2.75. It’s darn good and a pretty good deal at city prices.
I’m still hungry so I walk over to Crif Dogs. I get the bacon wrapped hot dog with fried egg and cheese. It’s a 30 minute wait, it’s over $5 for the dog, though I get some free candy out of it. It’s not an amazing deal, but still mighty good. I end up going back eventually and going to sleep by 5:00ish.
November 1, 2008
At night, I try to speak to Evan, but he’s in the library and decides he doesn’t want to do stuff for the night. He says that he probably was a burn out last night because he was high and that’s why we left the “party,” even though we didn’t even go there in the first place.
I find out from CNF at 10:30 that Josh, Jonah, Tom, and other people are over at his place. I shower and then realize it’s 10:50ish and it’ll probably take over 30 minutes to get there. Then, I don’t know when Josh and Jonah will be leaving. CNF says they want to leave early, so I won’t be for much, maybe a couple hours at most. I end up deciding not to go.
CNF throws in that he’s drunk, drinking Jack and Coke, and having fun. What a nice stab. Great that they were in the city seeing and movie and didn’t mind to say they were heading over to CNF’s.
I have some drank’s myself and want to eat. I decide to go get food by 2:00ish. I go to the Punjabi Grocery Market that’s three blocks from me. It’s really amazing stuff.
For $5, you get more food than Halal cart. You get a boat load of Basmati rice with your pick of three sides. Actually, it’s enough for two full meals. It’s vegetarian, but as I meat lover, I’m still fine with it. It has all the “meaty” vegetables like eggplant, potatoes, and peas. One of them is eggplant “mix” and the other one is curry with potatoes. I’m not sure what the other side is. There are six sides to choose from, but you can’t really tell what they are.
An uneventful weekend, what am I gonna say.

Been A While
October 12, 2008
It turns out that Josh and Scott are hanging out at Evan’s dorm. I walk over there past 10:00ish with my flask, which I’ve been working on before that. We hang out and watch some TV and stuff. Before 2:00, Josh and I leave and I walk with him a bit because I want to get Halal cart. I’m starving and grab some BBQ chips and eat half of it before I find a cart. I get a chicken over rice. I’m starving and eat that on the walk back.
I’m super shitfaced when I get back and throw sour cream and hot sauce into my cart food. Then I also grab the salad that I made for when I’d get back. I go for the itis because I’m drunk. I realize that I need to do something with my half bag of chips, so I throw it in my salad because my train of thought tells me that it’s like croutons. What people do when under the influence… Then again, it didn’t taste too bad.
October 13, 2008
I thought that I have class on Tuesday because I’m silly. It’s a huge relief when I find out that I don’t. Evan wants to hang for a bit, so I go to his dorm and we just hang there for a while. I end up drankin’ more and Stickaming for the night. It’s been quite a marathon to be going on this since Wednesday.
October 16 and on Weekend
Didn’t do much this weekend though Friday’s weird because people hang out at Josh’s, but I don’t find out until 11:30. With at least 30 minutes to get there and people probably ending the night before 2:00, I decide not to go.
For the week though, it’s super rough because I have midterms on Tues/Wed/Thurs. It’s a harsh week doing all that, but I get through it.
October 23, 2008
I think I’m being a smarty pants in my Civil Liberties and bring up all these extra cases and outside information, which could detract from my grade, but I’m not sure.
Evan and I end up going to the liquor store and grab a bottle of Jameson that we’re supposed to work on later tonight. I end up doing that with him until he has a “visitor” that has to end the night for him. I go back, drink a bit more, grab some pizza at some random place really late because I’m too drunk, and then pass out for class tomorrow.
October 24, 2008
I start dranking by 8-9:00. I end up going with Evan to San Loco at 11:00ish. We then go over to the bar near us because people are probably there. They are. Evan leaves pretty quickly because he has other plans and see what will happen to them. He’s expected back at the bar, but he doesn’t end up coming back. I talk most of the time with Kate, who I think I’ve met, but I’m not sure. They’re taking shots, so I also get a Jack for $4. Then I decide to take a house whiskey shot myself for $3. Then the bartender we know makes an extra shot for me when other people order, gratis!
The group decides to leave and I get invited to hang out with them back at the dorm. Boris and Karthik roll a joint and I get fucked on that. Kate and Boris leave. There’s a deal going down or something and I’m too fucked up so I leave.
I see that there’s a McDonald’s. It’s so rough standing on line, while I’m wobbling in place. When you’re so fucked up that standing up, you still sway like a boat in rough waters. I get a #2 and eat both cheeseburgers on the walk back along with half the fries. The Diet Coke is also a savior because my throat is SOO dry from drinking and smoking weed and cigs. It’s fuckin messed up how dry shit is. I’m so fucked up that I get back, finish my fries, and pass out by 4:00ish. I would usually stay up, but I can’t.
October 25, 2008
I try to figure plans for the night, Josh, Tom and CNF go to a movie. I don’t wanna go, but am willing to hang for the night. I end up finding out late that they’re hanging and sorta wanna stay in the city. Evan has plans for the night and Karthik isn’t hanging out. After some drinks, I speak to Miah and Spamps. I then get Pommes Frites, a French fry place that’s only a few blocks away.
I get curry sauce, Pesto mayo, and a mayo/peanut satay/raw onions. I love fries and I love sauces, so it’s good.
October 26, 2008
I sit around on Stickam for the most of the day. There’s nothing much to the do for the night so I have a couple drinks at 8:00ish, which is early, so that’s fine. I only have one class and that’s at 11:00, I’m safe. I decide to continue the foodiness and walk over to the West Village. On the way, I call Atron, who tries to give me a BS intervention. He’s also speaking Danielle, who I guess has been speaking to him a lot.
I find Bleecker Street Pizza and get the two slices suggest by NYCFoodGuy.com
Go check his site, it’s amazing. I get the Nona Maria (like a margarita slice) and Grandma slice.
The Nona Maria is very good, but there’s too much cornstarch and hard crust feeling to it. On the other hand, the Grandma is the best I’ve ever had. Light crust, garlic, perfect amount of sauce. Just amazing. $3.00 a slice, gorge yourself on Grandma.
After finishing that, I realize that Five Guys is right across the street. As the idiot I am because I haven’t eaten since 3:00 PM and it’s almost 12:00 now, I go to Five Guys.
I had a small burger with grilled onions, mayo, and BBQ. I would’ve gotten the grilled mushrooms and other toppings, but they didn’t have. The grilled onions are amazing and I like the sesame bun. It’s weird, but I’m comparing the place to Joe’s Best Burger in Flushing. The patty was mighty weak, weirdly shaped and small. Joe’s is better and this place is a bit overpriced with their burger.
The fries were really good. A nice balance between crispyness and thick potatoeyness. The fries are a really good deal, big portion for the price.
I’m a sucha mess because I finish the burger on the walk back. Then I have the fries. I guess I ate so fast that I didn’t realize what I did to myself. It isn’t even an itis where I would just pass out. It’s fuckin full blown pain from eating so much. What a douchebag I am. I end up passing out despite the pain.

Slow Weekend
October 9, 2008
I start a drank rockin at 9:00ish. It turns out that Evan’s with Brian and I meet up with that past 12:00ish or something. He finds out that people are supposed to go to this bar, but he has to donate blood tomorrow morning so we end up going back home.
October 10, 2008
After my class, I need to go on a cig re-up at Duane Reade. I check three places and they’re all out of the Buy 2 Get 1 Parliament deal. So I get a pack of Parliaments and see that Marlboro’s are $3 off. Shit’s expensive in the city with packs at like almost $9. The Marlboro is $4.50! Jeez! And it turns out that it’s menthol… I can’t imagine how black people smoke them, but they taste like minty rectum.
I again get the drank on at night. Evan’s home for the day so I’m not sure what I’m doing tonight. I call Karthik and text Boris, but Karthik says he’ll call me back and doesn’t. I end up deciding to go the bar near me. I’m not sure why I go there myself and I realize that I can’t just walk up to random people and have a conversation with them. Just from my point of view, if I was hanging out with friends, it would be strange and off setting for a stranger to walk up and just start a random conversation.
I end up getting a beer there and stealing their glass. Fuck them. $5 beer is a ripoff and I fuckin’ need a glass and I’m also a klepto.
October 11, 2008
Turns out at night that people are going to Josh’s. Evan was there, but comes back to the city to grab his medication. Him and I head there before 11:00. Scott, CNF, Tom, his friend, and Josh are present.
I have my flask and work on that. We end up going to his roof, which has an amazing view. There’s also a TI, Rihanna, Fat Joe concert rocking. It’s down by the docks and we’re really high (27 stories), but we can still hear the music. That’s sooo cool!
We end up going back in to watch half an episode of Always Sunny, which is one of the best shows on TV. An amazing comedy, please watch it.
CNF and I end up walking back at 1:00ish. I go to the subway stop and he goes home. I get lost about where the subway station is. Instead, I go to the one that is another option and it takes forever to get back. I eventually take the train and I’m really stupid and walk the opposite direction for some reason. I get lost and ask Spamps for some help, catch up with him, and get back home.

GAS!!!
September 30, 2008
It’s a long day of class and my last class ends at 7:35. For my Civil Liberties class, my professor seems to leave out big things about certain cases. I’m also surprised that people support my view on McGowan v. Maryland. It deals with how some guys got fined on selling random shit like a three ring binder on Sunday. Maryland back in the 1960s, they had laws restricting people doing labor and sale of certain goods because they wanted people to be “good ol’ citizens” to rest and stupid shit.
Justice Warren who rights the majority decision feels that the state had legitimate reason to make Sunday “rest day.” He sounds like a fuckin’ octagenarian old timer. I explain that it’s fuckin stupid that have this shit and the fact that Sunday (a Christian day) doesn’t matter. It’s moot. The issue that the state doesn’t have a right to stop people from selling regular shit on a Sunday, just because it’s a good idea to have people “rest.”
Anyway, end of that political rant.
October 2, 2008
After class, I meet up with Evan who gets dinner. We end up watching the VP debate with Brian. I have a few drinks of my vodka while I’m watching it. They both try listening hard, so there’s little discussion during the thing, so it turns out super boring for me since I don’t like either party.
I end up leaving an hour in because I’m drunk, I need get more drunk, and I can’t sit there bored out of my mind. I Stickam with people for the rest of the night and sleep earlier because I have a test at 2:00 the next day.
October 3, 2008
By 8:40, I’m bored, so I start the drank and my two step. I try reaching Evan to do stuff, but he’s watching the new Bill Maher movie. I end up going out to meet up with him and Jonah past 12:00ish because they came back from the movie. We go to a Ramen place where they eat. We walk around for a while and end up sitting around at Evan’s dorm for a bit. I end up leaving at 2:00ish because I’m tired and sleep soon after.
October 4, 2008
I realize that I don’t have much liquor left. I would have to re-up for the night. I go to the Russian liquor store and smoothly get by with buying generic and Georgi plastic bottled vodka. By the time I’m showered and ready to pre-game, it’s past 10ish.
I do my usual drankin’ and Stickamin. Evan is hard to reach and finally at 12ish he says that he’s not sure if he wants to go out. He finally gives me a final decision that he won’t be. I speak to Jonah, but by then it’s 12:30ish and it takes a while for him to get down here since he lives further uptown.
After a while, I decide to go outside for a smoke and call up some people. I end up speaking to Miah for almost three hours, fuckin’ hell. It’s just me talking around, debating random shit, talking about random shit, chain smoking, and I decide that I’m so thirsty from talking/drinking that I need water. However, there aren’t any stores open and I can’t find a cart of some sort for a while.
I end up finding a cart in a skeevy part of Bowery and it’s filled with homeless people and shit. I ask for a chicken gyro, but it turns out there’s only beef on the stick and he randomly gives me that instead. There’s also no anything, just that meat, wrapped by a gyro, and some hot sauce. What was a water trip becomes food and water because I haven’t eaten since 4:00 and I’m starved and drunk.
Then he says “$8.” I’m drunk and confused and pay along. I get Miah back on the phone because I had to deal with the cart. We come to the conclusion that I shouldn’t have paid for that. It’s way too expensive. Gyro should be like $3-4 and a water should be $1. I don’t know where the 80% markup is from, but I guess it’s the only cart open for a distance at this time.
I’m still walking around and I notice the bar across the street from me that Atron couldn’t get into last week. I notice a Q104.3 black van and there are at least 20 around it and they’re all sucking on balloons. Remember that it’s 3:40 now and I’m still on the phone with Miah. It’s seriously one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen and I can’t possibly understand what people are doing.
I try to get one of the balloons, but he says it’s $5. What the hell! I think that it might be helium and people are having fun, but no one around has a high voice or anything. I end up sitting down at a bench and just asking someone what that deal is. He says that it’s nitrous or “laughing gas.” You know, the shit that dentists use.
He says that I should try it and we walk over to get one. Sit back down on the bench and work on it. Only after one puff, I already feel it. It’s like an uplifting lightheadedness. It turns out to be great and it only ends up last 5-10 minutes tops.
The guy that I speak to turns out to be really cool and he grabs my number. I try getting his, but he walks away before I do. Maybe he’ll call about shit to do sometime, that would be cool. However, it’s a bit weird that I see him handling a huge wad of cash after that. Maybe he was involved in the selling of the balloons or something. It’s one of the wads of cash that like bouncers or whoever have, like to take entrance fee and give change.
But really, what is this situation? There’s no way Q104.3 is really doing this illegal shit. So that’s fraud. Then there’s the issue of possession, selling in public, and selling at all and stuff. It’s just crazy that they literally pulled this slick operation off on a lane street in the city.
http://www.cognitiveliberty.org/dll/N20_state_laws.htm
You see where the red truck is? Just imagine the van being right there with people filling up balloons with tanks, 30 people standing around, balloons being sucked and thrown all over the floor at 4:00 AM. Then again, they left soon after cop cars drove by and around.
http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=bowery+poetry+club+nyc&fb=1&cid=0,0,675106739067944942&ll=40.725921,-73.992185&spn=0.002045,0.003009&z=18&layer=c&cbll=40.724899,-73.992387&panoid=zccliIljvR41-j5DstiKKg&cbp=1,68.617274896733,,0,4.337264461478547
After this and the van leaves, I finish by little Maker’s Mark 1 shot bottle that I bring along that’s filled with vodka. I end speaking to Miah by 4-5:00ish. I get back, eat the salad that I made before I left, Stickam, and watch The Shield. Start watching The Shield already, it’s tooo good!!

Drankin'
September 24, 2008
I’ve been itching the day before and today because I have a Spanish quiz. I bombed the last quiz with a 77. Then again… You get to drop a quiz, there are a handful of the quizzes, and it only counts for like 10-20% of the grade. There are two midterms that count as 15% each and a final that counts for 10%. There’s so much random shit and work that’s why the percentages are so low. A real class could have the final at like 30-40% with a midterm being lower, participation only counting 10% at most and the rest for whatever essays or stuff. It’s horrific that this Spanish class has by far been my hardest and busiest class so far. I’m pretty sure I did fine on the quiz though.
After the quiz at 3:00ish, I go to the other supermarket. They are opposite sides of NYU “campus,” which is just a bunch of city blocks. The one that’s a bit out of the way, then again, that’s my standard. I just hate walking that much and people would literally say that it’s 4 blocks away. That’s just 4 blocks too much for me.
I get the ingredients for a chili and other stuff. I’ve been drinking out a big Wendy’s cup for the past few days. People make fun of it on Stickam and I agree it’s skeevy. However, I’m all about big cups and the mugs I have aren’t big enough. Thankfully this supermarket as 16 oz. plastic cups.
I get roast beef and garlic cheddar (turns out to be really interesting tasting, but very garlicky). The sandwiches are mostly for eating in the library between my class ending at 12:15 and next class starting at 2:00. The walk is “worth it” for me so for me it’s easier to go the library, plug in the computer, sit on there like I’d be at home, watch my shows, and have my lunch.
When I get back, it’s cookin’ time. It’s the first time I’ve made rice without a rice cooker. Wash the rice, put water, simmer rice. Unfortunately, I leave it on the stove for a bit too long instead of letting it sit and cook itself off the heat. The rice turns a bit off al dente, but it’s fine.
Time for the chili:
Big pot, oil, brown a pound of ground beef. Diced, 4 small red onions, which is like 2-3 cups. Sweat for a looog time, want them sweet and soft. 5 cloves of garlic, minced, in. 2 red peppers, chopped, sweat until they are soft too. Conventions call for canned tomatoes, but I used tomato sauce instead. I’m off of pasta/sauce carb load diet, so I have to use the jars of sauce that I’ve previously purchased. It’s basically the same, but it’s spiced and everything. A can of red kidney beans, in. Throw in water and reduce until right consistency.
Now I have rice and chili instead of pasta and sauce. The onion, beans, and peppers fills it up more than just being sauce. The meat is hella lot better than not having it. It turns out to be like over 2 liters of chili into a Tuperware. I had to squeeze 2 liters of rice into the other Tuperware. The conventional heat is to from Jalapeno or chipotle in abode. The place doesn’t have either. The other stuff is American hot sauce, the vingerry Tabasco or Buffalo sauce stuff. Instead, I choose Sriracha, but it’s a weird brand that is also vingerry. I throw that in and it turns out fine for getting a kick in.
I’m thinking of throwing in some eggplant. It really shrinks to nothing after being cooked and I might need lots of it.
I’ll need some cheddar to cut up and sour cream that I’ll buy tomorrow as condiments for the chili/rice.
September 25, 2008
After I walkout of my class at 7:30.T A switch just flicks in my head and I just end up having the urge to do something because it’s the “weekend” since I only have class at 2:00 on Friday, so it basically can count as a three day weekend for me.
I get back and sit on Stickam for a bit. On a usual day, I’d just watch some TV, sit on Stickam, and end up going to sleep. However, it’s the “weekend” so I jjust can sit there. I drink 4-6 cups of coffee out of boredom and it gets me really jittery. I actually look up how to make hard cider, since I’m out of alcohol, I plan on buying the ingredients tomorrow to make my own alcohol, apple cider, yeast and sugar.
I end up getting the idea that I should go to the Russian liquor store that doesn’t card and stuff. I even dress up into a button up so I look older. It’s a good coincidence that I haven’t shaved for the past few days too. My chalked ID has worked twice at a bar, so I hope if it comes to it, it works at the liquor store too. I look around and grab a plastic handle of vodka for $18.50. The guy doesn’t even card me! I tip the $1.50 change into the jar. A quid pro quo kind of move. Hopefully, I can consistently use this place.
It’s so great. It’s literally a top three moment in life. I celebrate and give a few people calls like Miah and Jenn. I get back work on my vodka and Diet Coke. It’s a good thing that I haven’t eaten since 3-4:00. I Stickam a bunch, going out for a few smokes, and stuff. After I’m done drinking, I have myself a roast beef, garlic cheddar on rye with honey mustard.
Writing about Privileged in the middle of the night:
If you guys don’t know “Privileged,” there’s an incredible moment where I just had to laugh at. There tutor (main character) is worried about her “tutee” (not sure if that’s word) being held back a year because of her grades. The “tutee” says that she might not get good grades no matter how hard she tries. The tutor responds, “That’s like not going out with guys because you worry they’ll cheat on you or not writing because you’re worried that you’ll never get published (the tutor is a struggling writer).” The girl responds, “Are you talking about the Sex and the City? I loved the movie, but I’m not sure what you’re talking about.” It’s this off tempo joke is what makes me absolutely love Casablanca. The tutor is really worried about the girl’s future and sets an extremely dramatic tone in the scene, yet the reply throws everything off and just works so well with the juxtaposition. I guess most/some might not find it funny, but it’s exactly my kind of humor and I even stopped the show to write almost 200 words about a little thing like this. In the end, the tutor explains you can’t not try because you’ll never know what the outcome will be.
I end up passing out by 5:00 for class the next day.
September 26, 2008
I sit around for most of the day. Hasan tells me to go back, but it doesn’t seem worth it if I hang out in the city instead. Also, they’re supposed to be coming into the city tomorrow anyway. Evan is unreachable for such a long time, but by 12:00, he’s almost ready and stuff and we’re going to a bar. Lets see where the night takes us.
We meet up and go to the bar that is near us. It’s one that I’ve been to three times already and the people that Evan knows are there. It turns out that I guess the people are up to other stuff and only a few of the guys are there. We only stay there for a while until the two of us walk with Karthik back to his place to hang out.
The walk back, he’s super drunk and has the flyest vomiting that I’ve ever seen. At one point, he slows down a bit and vomits onto some trash bags. I didn’t even know it was him and I think it’s something falling from the sky. He then throws up in front of him while he’s still walking and it doesn’t even get on him. He does a good job being so slick about it.
We go into his room and sit around listening to hip hop. We wait there for a while until Boris will come back because it has his weed locked up. We chill there for a while until I realize that I’m pretty much sober. We then go out to get food because Boris is on his way back eventually. Evan and Karthik get some chicken gyro shit.
On the walk back, Evan says that he needs to go sleep and goes back. Karthik invites to me to stay and hang even though Evan is going back. That’s cool. Boris is back we he rolls a fast ass joint. I only take 1 hit of it and I’m getting there. It turns out there is Coors Light in the fridge so I grab it and finish almost a 40. We then go a few doors down to Derick’s place. He has some people over and he rolls a blunt. I don’t have any of it and I end up leaving soon after that. It’s good that I got to hang out tonight and did it even though Evan left.
September 27, 2008
It’s Saturday and people end up coming into the city. I have a few drinks of my vodka until I meet up with Bolanos, Josh, CNF, and Atron. We go to the liquor store and they pick up a bottle of rum. It’s 10:30ish by now and I’m really paranoid having people over. The woman has her like 4 year old kid over and us guys are usually loud and especially with drink, which I would prefer didn’t somehow get back to mom.
We’re good about it and up leaving my place by 11:20ish. We meet up with Evan in front of his place and walk around to find a place to go. We end up going to a bar that’s near NYU campus. Atron’s ID is bad and he can’t get in. We then walk around for a while with nowhere to go. We end up walking over to Tuck Shop.
Then, Atron and Evan go off to get weed from Boris. CNF, Josh, and I hang around for a bit. We find a bar that’s a block away from me and we all are able to get in. CNF finds out that he’s lost his keys, so we run back to my place to look for them. Luckily, he finds them and we go back to the bar to grab a beer.
We tell Atron to go there because he’ll be a good wing, but he ends up again not being able to get in. I guess the city is rougher than we though. They end up walking or subwaying back to Penn by 2:30 to catch the 3:19. It’s still relatively early and I have noting to do so I end up speaking to one of my Stickam friends outside for an hour or so until I head back in.
September 28, 2008
I wake up at 4:00 and feel a bit funny. Some of it is from the fact that I probably smoked near a pack the night before. I eat and go on Stickam. Someone mentions they’ve pulled an all nighter of drinking. I decide to copy and start drinking at 5PM out of boredom. I stay that way until 2:00 when I sleep. Now that’s a fuckin long day of drinking.

I'm A Sick Man
September 23, 2008
So I just found out that I’m watching an unprecedented amount of television.
How I Met Your Mother
Heroes
Smallville
Entourage
90210
Prison Break
Burn Notice
I Love Money
Greek
Gossip Girl
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
The Hills
The Soup
Dexter
Californication
Mad Men
Fringe
Privelege
Samurai Girl
I think that’s a record 19 shows I’m watching this season. Alright, lets do some quick recap.
How I Met Your Mother- It was set up last season with the marriage proposal to Sarah Chalke’s character. They specifically played with the yellow umbrella that was left at the club during St. Patty’s. I’m very curious where they take that. Otherwise, I’m disappointed that Ted has become a “settled” man and now that Barney is left to his own crazy self. More people in the world need to be like Barney.
Heroes- The show really needs to move quicker and stop with the boring offbranching storylines. It’s also entering weird confusing plot lines that involve the future and characters how they might be by then. However, I’m glad that they’re back to Sylar, who is one nail biting villain. Noah Bennet also turns out to be alive, who is very well portrayed by Jack Coleman and easily one of my favorite characters.
Smallville- I’m not sure why I’m into Season 7 of this show. I don’t think I’ve really loved an episode for a while. Then again, there are a couple episodes that are to die for in the Second Season. They really pace the storyline of Clark slowly and I think he’s finally reached the Daily Planet now, while skipping college because of whatever mysticism/conspiracy/Da Vinci Code-ian ideas they’ve brought onto the show.
Entourage- The last episode with the party was pretty fun. However, they keep making Vinny Chase absolutely invincible with his “un-bankruptability” and weird situations where he gets paid $200,000 to show up to a Sweet 16 for a couple hours and sing. Seriously?
I’m interested in where Eric’s career starts going now that he’s moved a big script onto Edward Norton. Hopefully Vinny turns out alright in Hollywood and finds another blockbuster. Hell, who am I kidding, does anyone doubt it’ll all turn out well for the crew?
90120- A pretty decent teen drama show. The dynamic between Dixon, a black teenager adopted into a rich white family, and his family has emerged. There’s a parallel story with Silver, a girl that’s on the run from an alcoholic mother that’s abandoned her. Also, the show needs more Jessica Walter (the mother figure of both 90210 and our beloved Arrested Development)! She’s absolutely hilarious, witty, and sarcastic. I’m curious to see where this show goes.
Prison Break- For some reason, I like that the “gang” is out of the jail setting now and into the real world. Then again, they’re trying to dig deeper into a conspiracy called the “Company,” which is somehow trying to take over the world and working on smaller countries first and then the US. It has its exciting action/Scofield mastermind moments.
Burn Notice- The show is consistently doing a good job and now it’s getting more exciting since we’re getting deeper and deeper into Michael Westen’s handler played by Battlestar Galatica’s Tricia Helfer. She seems like an interesting character and I want to see where this plan of her goes since Michael is one of her “pieces” in a mastermind plan of some sort.
I Love Money- We’re down to 4. White Boi or Hoops better win.
Greek- The show has really picked up with Calvin’s homosexuality being explored and Casey’s new love for Rusty’s RA. A fun to show watch, though I’d like to see Rusty romantically get involved or something. It sucked that LonelyGirl15 had to leave last season.
Gossip Girl- I’m absolutely loving this season. Chuck has become a liked character and the love triangle with him, Blair, and the Lord is cool. However, the Lord mother, Vanessa, and Nate, this is just scary stuff. Blair is still a devilish amazing mastermind. She had a great move last season. I wonder where Amanda goes from here. I hope Jenny turns out to have a bright future with her fashion career.
Why are Dan and Blair being such idiots? I so wanted them to stay with each other. This is balls! Dan and Blair 4 3v3r! xo xo! Gossip girl.
(Back to this, probably the best episode of the entire show’s history, watch this week’s episode.)
Terminator- A cool Sci-Fi show, though I’m curious who the next Terminator is. It seemed like they killed the last one and the new one is liquid like the one from Terminator 2.
The Hills- I’m so glad Lauren and Audrina are back together. I can’t wait to see more of Spencer. There needs to be a new word for a douchebag, Spencer. There’s no explanation for anything worse than his attitude. How does any person, even Heidi, deal with him?
The Soup- A must watch. It gathers all the greatest moments from TV and just throws them into one show.
Dexter- He’s back to his old murdering self, but all revamped after the chase on him. He has to hold onto his code, adapt it, and continue his life. He needs his father’s code to survive. This season looks like it will be bringing new people trying to squeak into his life and figure who the real “Dexter” is.
Californication- The season ending was pretty surprising. Lets see what happens from here.
Mad Men- The show continues to be outstanding. Peggy is going to have to face that the Father knows about her baby and we will be going back to the flashback and her history at the hospital for months and months after her birth.
Don is going to have to clean himself of his flirtatious ways and adulterating around. Mrs. Draper knows and she’s taken off her shell and ready to fight back at him.
Ms. Halloway has gotten a taste of what it’s like to break the gender boundaries like Peggy has. She loved the job of reading scripts and being “one of the guys.” Her reaction to the loss off his task was shattering. She’ll be striking back as her usual fiery, snappy self.
Fringe- The Sci-Fi gets a bit ridiculous, though I keep watching because of the conspiracies of “The Pattern” and how the company relates to it and the government. The scientist and his son are hard to believe and what they get done on the show is just unrealistic. Then again, it’s Sci-Fi for a reason.
Samurai Girl- I’m two episodes into this six episode mini series. It’s an interesting blend of teen drama with family issues entwined with martial arts action and Japanese culture and traditions. I will definitely finish this mini series.
Privilege- My vote for the up and comer this season. The first few episodes have been fun and fresh. Then again, it’s definitely not Veronica Mars, but the mood and sass is still there.

Mundane stuff and Going Out on Weekend
September 17, 2008
After class, I go to the supermarket to buy some shit. I need to change my diet because I fuckin gained weight from last semester eating only pasta with heavy tomato sauce and sandwiches of turkey and Swiss, with chips and hummus. It doesn’t seem like that bad, but I guess the pasta is what did it.
I try to go to salad, so I grab two heads of lettuce because it’s fresher and a better deal than buying the salad mix. I already have balsamic dressing, so I work it off of that. I should’ve made my own vinaigrette. I grab a block of mozzarella, a fresh red bell pepper, croutons, and a lb. of chicken breast. I also get to large Tupperware things for the salad.
Cooking part (You can skip if you don’t care about cooking):
When I get back, I clean and cut up the lettuce. Almost of 2 lbs. of lettuce turns out to be a lot… So I don’t use it all since it won’t fit in the container. I then cut up the peppers and cook them. You want to burn them a little bit to get that grill flavor. Put that into another container. Get the block of mozzarella, dice it, throw it in with the peppers.
Salt, pepper, and curry on the chicken. Onto the pan. Cook, cover, flip, cover. You want color on the chicken, but chicken needs to be cooked all the way so lower the heat and cover it at a point. Then let it sit. If you cut it immediately, it’ll be way too hot for fingers. Most importantly, all the juice will flow out. Letting it sit firms it up and makes sure it withholds the juices.
Then dice that up, throw it into the cheese and peppers mix. Handful of lettuce into bowl, scoop of the “substance of the salad” mix, put up dressing, toss salad, and finish with croutons. It will probably last me 4-5 times because I used a lb. of chicken.
I’m supposed to do some work, but I end up sitting on Stickam for a while. I also hate on Atron for unemployed ass getting an iPhone. Whatever, he got his priority on ballin’ shit. Evan gives me a call because he wants grab dinner. I ate, but I go along to hang out.
We walk to the dining hall on campus. We meet up with his friend Emery, who I’ve met a bunch of times already. It’s his birthday and he’s having his 21st on Saturday. It’s supposed to be a crazy party. Good times!
We end up going to the conversation of how I’d do all those Psych paid oddjobs/surveys and whatever. He gives me an email for that. Sweet times. We then get into the game of “How Much Would It Cost For You To…”
It goes into how Evan would take $100 billion if he had to die at 35. We then speculate how much could be done to the world with that much money. While some of it could be used to have fun, but we just have this idea of what good could come out of one’s life with that much money.
I come back to write the blog and watch the new CW show, Privileged. I love it so far. About a quirky, witty Yale graduate writer from New York that gets hired by a multi-billionaire family to tutor two snobbish high school girls in Palm Beach, California, thus the name “Privileged.” She’s supposed to make sure that they get the grades to get into Duke. She reminds me of the strong-willed female that we love so much from Veronica Mars, which is one of the finest shows of our time. It’s a very fun show. It’s filled with the awkward conflict with one of the daughters, who’s she’s supposed to help and is relying on her doing well. And then there’s the younger sister that looks up to her as a mother figure. Then again, the set up is very “Cinderella.” Did I mention that her pay is $1,500 a week and getting all her college loans paid off if she pulls the job…
Anyway, time to get off this blog and back to doing some schoolwork. I’ve actually come to enjoy doing some of my readings and reading outside stuff about it because I’m especially enjoying my Civil Liberties class, which might as well be called “Supreme Court.” The reading up is good because I should be participating more in classes in general and it also helps me do my favorite thing, faux debates in class where I simply smash people down for comments that I find stupid.
September 18, 2007
I get an email back from the Psych department that I can go in on Tuesday and earn like $10 for like an hours of filling out stupid shit. Sounds like a plan. After my class, I try contacting Evan, but he’s not picking up. I get back to the apartment and start finishing my Vodka. It’s been good that it’s lasted for almost 2 weeks.
I start at 9:30ish and it’s a good thing that I haven’t eaten since 2:00. I work on that while I’m chilling on Stickam. At 12:00ish, I go out for a walk and cig break. I have a 40 minute call with Bolanos speaking about legal jurisprudence, the deficit, future Presidents, and so on. I then go back on Stickam, make myself a sandwich, and sit around until 4:00 when I sleep since I have class at 2:00 the next day.
September 19, 2008
For my Spanish class, I end up getting a 77 on my test from stupid mistakes and all that dumbness. It’s so ridiculous that this class is killing me. Whatever, I should be able to drop this quiz, but I gotta start doing better in this bullshit. After class, I go to the supermarket. I don’t know why I didn’t go this supermarket last semester. It’s right on campus. So instead of walking out of my way to a supermarket and walking back, I can just stop by on the way home from classes.
I have loads of lettuce, but I’m falling down on my “filler” mix. I get a red pepper and a small eggplant. I also grab ice trays because the one I have is way too small. The one I get is huge and makes ice cubes the size of the Titanic.
I get back and roast the peppers. I cook the eggplant with simply oil, salt and pepper. So now it’s curry chicken, roasted peppers, diced mozzarella, and eggplant. Again with the same, throw that in with some pasta, and croutons and balsamic vinaigrette, it moves away from a salad and is super satisfying while still being a salad…
I also have a small coffee maker, which only makes 4 cups at a time, which sucks. I make the 4 cups, put in the fridge, then transfer it to a Coke bottle, then make more coffee since a “serving” for me is like over 2 cups. I didn’t get milk I wouldn’t finish it. Instead, I try use a Tiramisu flavored wet Coffee Mate. While it does taste a bit fake, it gets the job done and the Tiramisu flavor is sweet.
It turns out that one of the people I know from Stickam has visited New York City with her class, all the way from Sweden. She tells me she’s going to my “library.” So I go on my campus, walk around a bit looking for a large group of Swedes. I drop that after a bit and go meet up with Evan at the libray. I then go back, have a light dinner, and go out with him to a bar. This girl he knows from class invites him and they are mighty aggressive texts.
We take the train up there. Notice that I’m sober because I’m dry and nothing was picked up. We walk in and we see the person that he knows. By the way, this is the first time I’ve used my chalked and it worked… And it’s a big bar near Grand Central, interesting… I’ve seen her before when Evan helped her with some stuff at the library. She buys us a shot of Patron. I then get a Kettle One mix drink. Then a Jello shot. Then a rum and coke. Then a vodka tonic. I offer to buy her drinks, but she refuses. Even Evan has a couple drinks because it’s the social thing to do, it has no effect on him, and he’s just bein a playa.
Speaking about that, that playa has like bitches all over him. One of them leaves and the other one is like workin him. She then starts talking to some other dudes. I wing for him and I’m like, yo, you gotta get on up that or you losin it. After those drinks stopped flowing, I decide to tell Evan to get me a shot. It ends up costing $5, which is expensive, but not bad compared to how much I got for the night.
We then meet Evan’s friend that had the apartment party last week. We’re planning to go to his place, but it’s 1:30 and Evan’s sick. There’s a party tomorrow, so he wants to be ready for that. We end up walking back and Evan runs into a girl he knows from before. She’s balling crying and we walk her back for a few blocks. Hopefully she’s alright.
Evan then runs into two people he knows from Stern. They’re going to some ballin’ party tomorrow. It’s crazy seeing Evan the social butterfly running to the people every single time that I walk with him anywhere.
It’s still early for me, so I speak to Miah and Bolanos. Miah’s at a party. Bolanos and Atron had a party. Just keeping up with niggas, you know how it is. I get back to Stickam for a few hours until I end up sleeping really late at 7:00.
It’s been a 180 from last semester with all these ballin’ weekends. Hopefully tomorrow’s party will be crazzay.
September 20, 2008
I meet up with Evan at 9:30ish. We walk to the dining hall and meetup with Brian. They eat and we walk over to the Emery’s girlfriend’s apartment where the pre-game party is. I see a couple of the guys from Prague, so it’s cool seeing them. I also see the two of the girls that I hung out a lot with, but it’s just the standard Hi, What’s up deal.
When we walk in, Brian makes himself a drink. I see immediately that it’s Ciroc, P Diddy vodka. I pour myself three shots into a red cup and chug that straight fast in a heartbeat. It’s also good since I ate a salad at 4:00ish, had half a bagel at 6:00, and that’s all day. I let that shit sit for twenty minutes until I go for my next drink.
Throughout the night, I just lose count. It’s just sneaking to the kitchen, and smoothly pouring myself shots and shots and mix drinks and mix drinks. We meet this twenty some year old guy who lives in the apartment above. He heard the party, he comes down, and he said he’s throwing something next week, so I grab his number in case I’m not doing anything that night.
I speak to this guy that went to Prague the last semester, so share stories on that. I think before 12:00, we end up taking a cab downtown to the bar. It’s actually three blocks away from my old dorm. It’s a pretty nice place and I get in with my ID. Slowly, I realize that I’m really shitfaced because I started smashing down drinks right before I left. Evan says the next day that I was just out of it and looked like a woozy drinkass.
I slowly get off of that and feel a lot better. Evan and Brian leave at one point and I have no idea when that is though. I end up saying Hi to some of the people I already know from Prague. I speak to this guy that I met at the pregame. He’s a built guy and says that I should work out more. He gives me a shoulder squeeze and it hurts. I guess I’m a pussy.
He then for some reason asks if I’m gay. I say no. He says he isn’t gay either. He then says he doesn’t like Asian girls. I agree with him. I mention all these girls around us and where our “targets” can be, but he’s reluctant and says he doesn’t like these girls and doesn’t like those girls…
He needs to go to the bathoom, where there’s a downstairs for. After that, I remember going up the stairs and literally tripping on every single one. It’s too embarrassing. I guess it’s this point where I should’ve noticed I was still too drunk. I can’t find the guy after going to the bathroom. After a while of standing around and being an awkward individual, I decide to leave. It shouldn’t be hard getting back, I’m 3 blocks from where I used to live. I end up going the complete opposite direction for 4-5 blocks and getting myself way lost.
This is when the drunk has been replaced by being really worried because I literally have no sense in where I am. Thankfully Jonah calls when I call him and he Google maps for me and I end up finding my way back. I also speak to Tim and Sam and tell her about studying abroad, my experience in Prague, and it’s just nice in general keeping up with them.
I get back into the apartment before 4:00. I go on Stickam and it starts hitting me since I’m so out of it. I start getting the hiccups, dizziness, and just all that stuff. I don’t know where it came from and maybe it’s from being tired. I sit around and sober up drinking 2 liters of water until I sleep at 7:00. A bit of a disappointing night because I didn’t speak to many people and especially none of the other race.
Additional story:
At one point in the night, one of the people I know gives me a forceful hi five or bro hug or something and it flings my glasses onto the ground. I quickly run onto the ground to find it. Weird part is that this is the second time it’s happened during the night. It would be baaadd if something happened like I couldn’t find it or someone on the crowded bar area just stepped on them. I would literally be blind in a dark area and wouldn’t have any chance of finding my way around or getting back home. My vision is fuckin shit.
When I quickly bend over looking around, I must’ve accidentally touched a guy or something. He starts giving me shit and my acquaintance tries to defend me. I guess I must’ve brushed his ass or something because this beep was not going to have any of it. He eventually let me off the hook. While there are few negatives to getting “too drunk,” having a high tendency to lose my glasses is just horrible. That would really bum out the night and I would be fuckin lost, hopeless, and unable to anything without my glasses.

September 13, 2008
I wake up at 3-4:00ish because I slept past 6:00 the night before. I Stickam for pretty much the whole day. We’ll see what tonight brings. Evan and I meet up to walk over to the huge party with one of his friends at 11:00.
Now that I’m not in dorming anymore, I can’t swipe into the dorm for the party. I decide to take Evan’s ID to swipe too. Evan isn’t slick with passing it back, so we get caught. The security guard asks for my ID and I give it to him. I hide the fact that the other is in my other hand. When he looks away, I pass Evan’s ID back to him and he shows that to the guard. It’s good that we slicked that by.
When we get to the party, it turns out that it was broken up RAs. The party is so freakin big and unbelievable that it had over 100 confirmed Facebook guests and it was in dorming…
Evan and I stand around with people outside because the shit’s broken up. People are supposed to go to a bar, but people can’t get a move going. Evan and I end up walking back to our homes. I change, re-up on drank, and see a man about a horse. I go to Evan’s place and we sit around. Before it’s 1:00, Evan says that he doesn’t want to go all the way to the bar. It’s not that bad since the place also needs ID, so whatever. At 1-2:00ish, he gets a call from a friend that he’s having a party at the apartment.
Evan and I take a cab there. I meet Evan’s friend and a few other people. It’s a great apartment and is a party of almost 10 people. It had lots of shit though including drank. I end up taking two and a half shots and that pushes me ahead and I’m super drunk at that point.
One of the apartment mates has work or something so the party gets broken up pretty quickly after we arrive. Evan and I cab back. We’re fuckin starved so we go to Tuck Shop for a meat pie. We go back to his place, split the meat pie, and I leave. I fuckin just pass out when I’m back, without changing or nothing.
September 14, 2008
I wake up before 4:00. I spent the day on Stickam and sweating my balls off. It turns out that Tom and CNF will be hanging out. I leave my place to take the train to CNFs at 10:00ish. We hang around and I work on my flask while I’m there. We then to the promenade and smoke a lil’ bit. We get back, watch some TV, CNF makes some hot dogs, and I start off watching Philadelphia with Tom Hanks.
I end up leaving past 2:30 and it takes longer to catch the train that usual and I get back before 4:00.

More NYU and Weekend
September 8, 2008
I wake up at 10:00 for my 11:00 class. Then again, this time it doesn’t have the extremely long routine of packing up all of my computer shit. I go to my Administrative Law class, which basically goes through the theoretical of shit. The girl next to me asks some random questions about the class. She for some reason brings up preemptively apologizing if she sneezing or coughs during class. What the hell…
After class, I have to go to the post office to pick up a few books. I’m never at the apartment, so they leave yellow slips of paper saying that I need to pick up my books or whatnot. I then go to the supermarket to pick up food, 1 lb of roast beef, .5 lb of buffalo chicken, 1 lb of hot Monterey Jack cheese, cream cheese, salad mix, balsamic vinaigrette, and bread rolls. I get back to the apartment to drop off my shit and pick up all my computer shits. I go to the library and spent 15 minutes running through 8 floors looking for a good place to set myself for the next 10 hours.
Evan shows up eventually. We make fun of this girl that’s sitting near us. She’s pretty cute and might be French from the book she’s reading. However, she has a disgusting, loud, scratchy, manly Smoker’s cough. It’s a scary sound, especially in a quiet ass library. I keep on downloading my shows, which is taking quite a while because the speeds are low for some reason. For other shows, it comes by quickly. I mostly sit on Stickam and do my reading for Civil Liberties. It investigates the legitimacy of judicial review and also an interview of Justice Powell.
I guess this could be a chance for Stickam update:
-Elin, Nana. Mysterious Swedish girl that’s Wapanese.
-Samantha, from PA randomly called me last night because she was shitfaced from beer. She also takes “cyber classes,” which means she does all her schoolwork through home on a laptop that they sent to her.
-Lizzy and Noorie, friends from Manchester. Interesting learning about their different school system.
-Danielle from B-More. Quite a crazy girl, what she uses… telling by the calls that Atron and I have made to her.
-Meagan, little girl from Birmingham that gets back at like 8:00 PM from school because of soccer and cheerleading. Why people do so much extra curricular shit…
-Jema, crazy Mexicana from Cali who has told me about “party lines,” where you call a number, an automated message tells you about a party, where, when, and everything. They gotta get that shit down in the East Coast.
-Red, Asian girl that was in school in Cali, but lives in Thailand. She has visa issues so she will end up going to Australia for school instead of back to Cali.
-Tanya, 20 from Calgary, one of the hottest chicks on Stickam. Fun story about her running to the liquor store to get wine because she’s got nothing to do. This brings up my alcoholism, but I shove that right down even though I have vodka because I have three classes tomorrow, it’ll be rough. She says she ran into a hobo. She was telling her friend about good vodka and the hobo buying plastic bottle shit says that the “best” shit is what gets you drunk. The hobo pulled the words out of my mouth…
I download the VMAs. Unfortunately, some of the performances are shortened like Lupe, Katy Perry, and Ting Tings. It’s sweet though because it has Travis Barker drumming for all those side shits. The Lil Wayne is hella weird because his pants are literally off the entire thing and you see his underwear… The Christina Aguilera is great and is showing off a new dancier Blackout style. I hope it’s a great album, but it’s better than she’s constantly shifting. Dammit, only if there was more Back to Basics like stuff coming out. The Kanye West is alright, but it sounds a bit like an R&B song with him singing and he can’t pull it off so he needs a vocoder. However, the production pulls off the song.
I watch an episode of The Hills and leave the library before 1:00. I get back, watch Mad Men, write this shit and have a hella long day ahead of me tomorrow.
September 9, 2008
I end up going to lunch with Evan and Jonah at a place near campus. It has an amazing cheesesteak on a Kaiser roll with grilled onions, an amazing sauce, and cheese. The rest of the day is spent in the library Stickaming along and random business.
For dinner, I have my switched up sandwich of a sesame roll, roast beef, pepper jack cheese, honey mustard, and pickles. I end up meeting with Evan so I can go to Wendy’s and get a free Frosty float that I turn in a receipt for. She asks what kind and I reply with vanilla, and then Dr. Pepper. I guess she doesn’t hear Dr. Pepper, so she gives me…. Orange Fanta?
When we walk out of the place, I tell Evan that it’s definitely because the woman’s black. What kind of fuckin’ white person would make a good ol’ fashioned float with orange soda!? That’s like fuckin… using ketchup as tomato sauce with your pasta. Then again, it doesn’t turn out all that because it’s like an orange and cream Popsicle.
When find a private room in the library to hang out and chill because you can’t usually speak in the library. We end up leaving at 1:00 when the library closes. I get back to finish my episode of Prison Break and watch Gossip Girl. It’s 2:00, I’ll be sleeping soon for my Administrative Law class at 11:00. It’s so stupid that the professor allow laptops. Writing notes by hand feels embarrassingly slow, barbaric, and inefficient.
September 10, 2008
It’s again another day in the library on Stickam. I also have a lot of stupid ass Spanish homework. Evan and I meet up at night and I run to McDonald’s to get an Asian salad. I get it to compare it to the Chicken Mandarin of Wendy’s. The dressings of the two are basically identical. Wendy’s has mandarins, crispy noodles, almonds, and more grilled chicken. McDonald’s spices up the salad with peppers and snap peas, but in the end, I prefer the Wendy’s. The vegetables are fresher and almonds and crispy noodles just bring out the salad to a different level.
We then go an empty room in the library so we can speak and hang out. While in there, Stickamer Tanya gets back from getting a Monroe (a piercing above the lip like where a beauty mark would be). Evan brings up how he hates piercings. I test how much he hates them and it goes fuckin’ far.
September 11, 2008
At night, I go on Stickam and just hang out for a while. People are being bitches and don’t hang out. I end up meeting Jonah at like 11:00ish to go for a walk and a bite. We walk for a bit and we end up going to San Loco a taco place. I get rice and beans and he just gets rice. We talk about our issues about eachother and I think shit okay.
We end up leaving each other eventually after that and I start drinkin for the night because I got my Internet today. I end up drinking like 11 drinks for the night because I have like my 40 which I haven’t finished which is like 3 drinks still because it’s flat and I also have my vodka which I have been trying to kill. I drink a shit load and have fun on Stickam until I end passing out because I’m so drunk.
September 12, 2008
I’m so drunk that I end up having a hang over for the day after. Even though my class is at 2:00, I wake up late and I just don’t feel right. Sitting though the class is really rough. I should buy groceries, but I end up getting comfort food at Wendy’s with a chicken wrap and a large chili. I sit on Stickam until eventual I see Evan at like 11:00ish. We end up going to a bar to see the people that he knows and it’s great to meet up with people that I’ve met before but I still need a better standing with. We then go to another bar, which I have a hard time walking to. I haven’t eaten since 3:00 and I’ve been working on my 8 shot flask the entire night.
We then go to another bar, whickh I tell Evan to butch up because I’ve been trying to learn the Atron ways. I tell him about all the situations where we can talk to girls. I know I’m shy but bars/clubs/parties are the situations to hit that shit up. He bitches out so we end up not dealing with that.
We then then go to a bar with 4 guys and 2 girls. One the guys ends up walking with one of the girls for the entire night. When they get to the bar, where the guy ends up making out with a girl that already has a boyfriend. She also goes there to meet him. That’s just so weird. It turns out that there’s a party tomorrow, so hopefully that turns out well. I get back, Stickam a while and top it off with a few mo’ dranks.

A Good First Weekend
September 5, 2008
I wake up at 12:30ish. For breakfast, I have the leftover pizza from last night. Man, I really feel the love for Italians every time I bite into that cappacola. I have class at 2:00 and immediately go the library for the internet. You know that move, what else I got to do.
I get on Stickam and I have a lot of fun doing it. I randomly check out girls in the library and people think it’s funny. Then again, I get “caught” by one of the girls and she gets eye contact with me. I hideaway and it’s weird.
I stay on Stickam and watching The Shield and random stuff for the next few hours until 9:00ish. During that, Erdem keeps saying that he’s free and he’d be willing to come it. He pulls the same ol’ shit of, “I want to come it, but I’m not coming in without plans.” There’s a stupid, fake expectation as if there would be plans in the first place. Later in the night, he ends up ditching out. That’s unexpected…
While I’m in the library, Jenn gives me a call. We end up gossiping with her for almost an hour about random shit like Jonah, CNF, other people, and her situation in with the group in general. I give her the stark truth about how her situation is with us, but she takes that as a surprise. I tell her that she should really not be caring about our opinions of her. She’s a chick, what the hell. She takes offense to shit. Then again, I probably would be a shitty therapist. I tell shit straight as it is and I even give help and solutions.
By 10:00 I end up leaving the library because I’m going to make plans with CNF and Evan. I walk over to a Duane Reade, get a 3 pack of Parliaments for $20, man have cigarettes gotten way to expensive. Shit used to cost fuckin like $16. I get to my place, drop of my computer shit and take a shower. I then go to Evan’s and CNF is already there, it’s a surprise that he got there so fast.
We then go the store near Evan to get beer. I unfortunately only pick up a 40 of Budweiser. Then again, we’re supposed to leave quickly because people are already at the bar. Evan has plans to meet up with peeps that he knows there including people that I met at the party on Labor Day.
I down my 40 and it’s a really rough time doing so. I’m doing it on the clock and it really just feels like I’m pushing bricks down into my body. We then walk over to the bar, which is sweet because it’s only 4 block away. For the city, that’s like just way too close. It turns out to be a bar/restaurant kinda shin dig. I say Hi to people that I’ve already met from earlier in the week. CNF ends up buying me a Pilsner Urquell which is really sweet. Eventually, CNF and Evan have “shit” to do the next day and leave by before 1:00.
I could’ve left with them, but I follow the Atron influence and hang around. I small talk with a few of the doods and small talk away. People end up leaving by 1:30ish so I walk back too. The night is way too young and I try to give calls to people, but fuckin’ people aren’t picking up and shit.
I end up going back watching a few episodes of The Shield and write this shit out. Imma have to go into the library tomorrow and do some work, chill out, and whatever. I’ll definitely have to DL some more shows.
September 6, 2008
Evan wakes me up at 12:00ish even though my alarm is set for 12:45. I make a sandwich and immediately go to the library. I find a cool ass room that is open. It’s open, huge, and is big enough for 5 people. I stay there for an hour or so, but it turns out that people have reserved the place and I have to awkwardly leave while removing my external and all that messy business.
I have to bring my external around because I need to download my shows and everything. I need that to get my shows onto it so I can move it onto th Mac side and I can watch my shows. I stay at a level for the entire day until Evan comes along at night.
I sit around on Stickam and such and don’t do any work. I guess all my readings are left for tomorrow. We end up trying to figure plans, but shit’s messed up because it’s pouring rain outside. I end up going to Duane Reade to buy an umbrella and I also find Tupperware there. I really need that shit because I can’t only eat sandwiches and if I cook anything, Imma eat it at the library, so I can microwave my shit there. I just need something that I can bring that shit along in.
We end up deciding to go to CNFs. I end up getting handle of Smirnoff for $24. I’m pretty sure there’s a better deal to be made, but what the hell. I put some in a water bottle and we subway over to CNFs. I work on my vodka and it turns out that Evan’s trying to be “straight” or more like gay for the semester. That means he’s trying not to drink, smoke neither weed, nor cigarettes for the entire semester. The man is frakkin bitch.
We channel surf and shit. We also go on Stickam and I call Danielle during it. It’s a crazy time. We then walk to the “promenade,” which is an interesting view because it reminds me of one of my favorite scenes from The Wire. Sorry for the obscure reference.
We end up getting dropped off at the train spot and we walk back. When I get back, it turns out that I finished almost a fourth of the handle. Shit… Then again, some of it was pour from me. Some of it was poured my CNF. A fuckin waste!!! Jeeezzz!! Anyway, I’ll have to deal my work and whatever tomorrow. We’ll see what it brings.
September 7, 2008
I wake up before 1:00 because I went to sleep before 5:00. I spent the night before watching The Shield. Shit, that show is too fuckin’ good. I shower and pack my usual sandwich. Then again, I switch off from bread this time. I have a roll with honey mustard, buffalo chicken, Swiss cheese, and pickles. The packing is rough because I have so much shit. I have to pack my laptop, the charger, my external in its box, the sandwich, pretzels, some Arnold Palmer, a book I have to do reading from, my mouse, a house pad, my iPod, keys, wallet, phone, etc. It’s quite an ordeal.
I go to Wendy’s to get my favorite salad, the Mandarin Chicken Salad. Not because it’s Asian or anything. It’s just tasty. It has sweet mandarins, grilled chicken, almonds, crispy noodles, and sesame sweet, ginger dressing. I also need that since I haven’t eaten vegetables for a frakkin week. My week has all been sandwiches and bagels with cream cheese for breakfast.
I meet Evan at his Stern building, but the wireless there is rough and blocks everything, even fuckin’ torrents. I sit on Stickam the whole day and do my readings. Man most of that shit is ridiculously boring. I skim that shit and retain so little of it. When it comes to shit that’s interesting like reading Article III Section 2 of the Constitution, what the Court is supposed to be able to do, and the birth and justification of judicial review.
I stay in the library for like 10 hours until the library closes at 1:00. I leave then, get back, watch some of The Shield, and write this shit down. It’s going to be a hella lot day tomorrow.
